My friend and I just wanted some where to float and chat. She repeated like 15 times while we were on the lake.... "I really like this spot". Bathroom were clean and didn't smell any odor - definitely a plus in my book. Please note - recreation passport is required; it's a honor system if you don't have one. Sleepy Hollow has plenty of camping for RV's , tents , and a couple of cabins to rent. Sleepy Hollow has a great beach/picnic areas with bathrooms the Park is very well maintained. There is plenty to do here at this state park : boating,fishing, swimming, hiking, Disc golf.

Disc golf, to me, is like the putt putt of the skies, except you have to go somewhere specific for putt putt and I like that disc golf is available at this park & just generally at random parks throughout! It was super vibey seeing families playing disc golf as my friend & I hiked throughout the park. The park is beautiful and so scenic in the fall & our dogs loved crunching through the leaves! They got to take a nice water break along Grand River, which was perfect too! Also, I'm not sure if Fitzgerald Park includes The Ledges trail, but I'm including my review of The Ledges here anyways because I couldn't find a separate Yelp page for it! I love that the park is connected to the trail! The trail is beautiful and a lovely hike too! On one side of you is Grand River, on the other is a bunch of gorgeous and unique sedimentary rocks! And occasionally above you is a bridge! The trail isn't ideally wide enough for social distancing, so it's a bit difficult as people walking towards you are crossing paths. It's also a bit frustrating seeing all these people climbing on the rocks, when there's clearly a sign at both ends of the trail that says NOT to climb on them because they'll get eroded!! Other than that, it's a wonderful trail to hike, and if you start from Fitzgerald Park, you can walk to the downtown Grand Ledge area, where there's a fun little island park restored in the middle of the river that you can loop around at to head back down The Ledges trail back to Fitzgerald Park! It was a lovely afternoon hike through the park, trail, and island park all in all! :)

They have very nice, newly built play equipment for kids, but it is separated between young children (toddlers) and older kids (up to 12). There is a man-made lake with a sandy beach. It's nice to be able to stop here in the summer for a quick dip without fighting huge crowds. There are some baseball diamonds as well as picnic shelters. My favorite part though is the trail system. They have a well maintained system through the woods and around the lake, and it's never really busy so if you like to take peaceful, quiet hikes this is your place!

I came here in the winter and really loved walking the trails throughout the center. It helped that one of my friends, Dan, manages the programs here and would point out all the cool trees, plants, and general history as we walked along. He truly made my first time at Woldumar so memorable and his passion for this nature center truly shines through in everything he does - even when he's off the clock just showing boring ol' me around! I've heard so much of all the work Dan has put into this place over the years and he truly makes Woldumar shine bright for all those who come and visit, whether for an afternoon or for a summer-long program! I imagine this place overrun with kids and adults alike when the weather is great and can only imagine how much fun it would be to experience this place in the summertime. There is truly something for everyone here and definitely recommend this if you're looking for a low-key place where not a ton of people will be with some majorly high-key fun and exploration!

We were visiting our friends in Lansing, and decided to do some geocaching in one of the local…read moreparks. That led us to here. Tecumseh park seems to be a park in transition. It's a neighborhood park that's got some parts that are a bit rundown (basketball court is grass with mouldering hoops, and there's a decrepit baseball diamond.) There are also some very nice improvements, such as a playground. There are plans to add a kayak launch in the future, which is a great idea, as this park runs along Grand River. There's also an area that they're allowing to become naturalized, with some hiking trails winding through. Altogether this is a great neighborhood park, but not really a destination park yet.

It has never been busy, which I love. I'm from So-Cal and all the hiking and trail parks were always packed with people. I used to hate it when people would hike with their speakers on full blast, so annoying. This park is a complete 180, so peaceful. Another perk is you can bring your dogs on a leash. One thing I wish they had more of are trashcans to dispose of poop bags instead of having to carry the bags until you are back in the picnic areas. I wouldn't go into the trails during the winter since there are a lot of roots sticking up and could be dangerous. Highly recommend during the summer and fall, gorgeous.

But I find that the side of the trails are heavily polluted with these plastic nets which are used to hold hay down. I urge local leaders to clean up this mess. I hope they care about our wildlife, because a bird was struggling to fly away with the very same net I am holding.
