Foothill Golf Course - Hole 6 Sign

Foothill Golf Course

First thing first,I like this golf course. This golf course has an exact purpose and it fills that…read morepurpose perfectly. This golf course is for beginners-In my lifetime I have probably taken 10 different golfers who had never played a round on a course or maybe even never even touched a golf club before.Thats what this place is here for and I love it. Recently my son wanted to finally play a real round of golf and though he has been to the driving range many times over the years,he has never actually played a round,so when he told me that,I knew exactly where we were headed-we went to Foothill Golf Course in Citrus Heights. We showed up around 930a on a random weekday and it was empty minus a player or 2 at the far reaches of the course. So we paid our green fees of $20 each and were told to go ahead and tee off whenever we were ready. That $20 gives u access to play 9 holes at this short par 3 course and if u want and there are openings you can pay another $7 to play another 9 holes. This is a true no frills golf course-they have an area you can practice putting but that's about it,no driving range,no chipping area, and it's perfect that way-it's just a course you go to when you want to introduce someone to golf in a judgment free spot, etiquette can be taught but people aren't hung up on it here,it's a place where the love of the game can be born and I'm happy it exists. So if you are ever looking for a spot to take a new golfer in your life or maybe you want to try golf for the 1st time,I would fully recommend this golf course to give our lovely sport a shot-u never know,u might love it.

this place is a park. not a golf course. a park. you're paying to hit balls at a park.read more

Granite Bay Golf Club

About a month has passed since we celebrated our wedding at Granite Bay GC, and in retrospect, I…read moredon't think we could've made a better decision in choosing our venue and our event manager -- Kelle Collier. I will preface this review of Kelle by underscoring the fact that she wants your "BIG DAY" to be even more perfect than you want it. And with that said, her passion and precision is on full display from the minute you're sitting down for a consultation; to the moment of reprieve when you realize that your event was a huge success. Kelle's fingerprints are all over it, so just make sure that you pair up Kelle's management skills with a coordinator of equal caliber. Now, enough about Kelle and let's start talking about Granite Bay GC. This golf club is gorgeous! From the beautiful 18 hole golf course -- to the small lake and the wooden bridge that curves alongside the landscape; the view from here is absolutely stunning. Your photographer will be in heaven. I promise you! They have a lovely outdoor garden area that's designated for your ceremonial vows, and an indoor banquet hall that lights up with class and elegance once it's fully decorated. I haven't even gotten to the food yet. Whoever GBGC hired as their lead Chef is doing a phenomenal job. I applaud you Mr. Chef of GBGC. As a foodie and a native to Los Angeles, the food in Sacramento is truly lackluster to say the least. I know... I know, what about The Kitchen and Mulvaney's, and Morton's and Ruth's Chris, and blah blah blah. Yes, those are about as good as it gets and I still have all fingers fisted in one of my hands. They serve their food buffet style, so all of your guests will attend your event and go home satisfied. That's my word! If we can only spread the food quality at GBGC to the rest of the Sacramento Valley! And if we can only clone Kelle Collier like Tesla's Opimus to ensure that everyone in the greater Sacramento region will always have their big day end in fireworks. Wouldn't that be a dream? Well, at least for those of us choosing GBGC as our venue of choice, that dream is already our reality. Thank you GBGC for making our night special.

If you are looking for the perfect event venue, you have found it here. We had our 50th wedding…read moreanniversary party at GBGC. We didn't know exactly what we wanted or how to accomplish it, but our planner, Kelle Collier guided us through the entire process with a multitude of great ideas to make it special. Kelle was unable to be at the party, but she had a plan in place that the party leader, Ethan and his staff executed perfectly. All were friendly, extremely professional, and available to take care of anything we asked for. We had many comments from guests about the great food, stellar service, and workers who seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. Since there was not an event prior to ours, they let me come the day before and set up my pictures and the decorations I was providing, which relieved a lot of stress for me. Ethan met my sister and me in the parking lot and carried everything inside for us. The staff made us feel very special and ensured that this was a truly memorable event for us.

Diamond Oaks is a good golf course if you're looking for a solid local 9-hole round. I haven't…read moreplayed all 18 yet, but this was my first time returning in a while, and I have to say it's a really good course. I'm just an average player and don't play too often, but for Roseville locals or anyone stopping through town, Diamond Oaks is definitely in my top 3 local golf courses to play. The course is well kept, and the grass was very well maintained, which made it enjoyable to play on. The only issue I had was on one hole I don't remember exactly which one where I hit into a sand pit and the ball bounced right out, which affected my score. I wasn't too happy about that, but overall I still thought the course was good. Hopefully that sand issue gets fixed soon. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend Diamond Oaks to anyone looking for a nice local course in Roseville. Thank you diamond oaks!

The four of us were on an overnight trip from the Bay Area…read more BIL made the 9am tee time for Sunday . $65 green fee which was reasonable considering it was a weekend. He checked in online prior to us getting there. That's a first. There was a golf tournament that began prior to our tee time. That might explain the slow play. The threesome ahead of us said the foursome ahead of them kept dropping two balls. We noticed the same golf marshal driving around the whole time. The biggest thing - at least 4 times a golf ball came flying over to the wrong fairway. And the fairways were wide opened. Must be weekend warriors. Good thing we weren't hit. The only hazard other than water - Hole 6 - the dogleg blind spot hazard. We rounded the corner and then saw the barranca. Other than Hole 6 and the balls flying into the wrong fairways, it was a nice golf course. We'd play here again.

Apparently the folks of the greater Sacramento community are spoiled for choice in golf courses. I…read moredecided to take a chance on Morgan Creek as an out of towner staying relatively close by and boy was I surprised! Based on the reviews here I was expecting piss poor conditions and the fact that I only paid $50 for the 2pm tee time led me to believe that was going to be the case. But boy was I wrong! I live in Southern CA and for $50 (cart included) at 2pm you'll be waiting at every tee box (even on weekdays) praying you find grass to hit from and the rental set of clubs would be a mix match of stuff they found in the lost & found. Here at Morgan Creek I received a beautiful set of Taylormade Qi 35 woods and Qi irons with a tour x spider putter as my rental clubs. I was not planning to play on this trip so I did not bring my own. The course was in good to great shape. Yes there were some bunkers that needed some love, and some water hazards that were drying up, but it appeared the tee boxes had recently been aerated so in a few weeks they'll be perfect, the greens were probably the best I've seen at this price point, could have been a little faster, but in general I loved the undulations and overall green complexes. I for SURE will be back! Even at $75 for a weekend rate, consider that a steal for the quality of the course! The only other course I've played in the area is the MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks (SAME PRICE) and this course was far and away my favorite of the two. I'm open to trying other courses in the area when I'm up for business, but I'm definitely coming back here for another round!
