While Slidell is a hub of sorts for the surrounding areas, it is not typical to have such a progressive selection. Anyway, fast forward 3 years and the pieces I bought back then are still of top quality and every time I wear them I continue to receive compliments. The items here are the perfect blend of sophistication with understated sexiness. Just love. They carry some brands I know & love (like Free People) and others I'm not as familiar with but happy to take a risk now that I know they stand the test of time. Dillards seems to be a staple in the south, so without Nordstroms as an option nearby, I gave it a shot. Great selection. Not the scummy feeling I get at every Macys at all. They had middle of the road designer clothes similar to Nordstroms but not really the super high end stuff. I got some Eileen Fisher and Tommy Bahama as well as Lucky and then some other brand of jeans I had never heard of but love. Basic bit-- clothes and that's what I was looking for. They also had some cute individual pieces that if I had a bigger suitcase...those were way less basic but I had to back away. The staff was really helpful, pointing me to some recent markdowns. So suddenly my impulse shopping trip turned into a bargain trip. Leeann was the woman who helped me and she was very attentive and helpful. Clean and organized - the store felt like it might be relatively new. Ended up rolling out with two new jeans and two shirts. All good.
