I was looking for an auto start for my car. It's a relatively new vehicle but it was lacking this one luxury. I began calling around before the holidays. Got a gambit of prices. When I called this company my vehicle happened to qualify for a discount price. That of course was great news. I had it installed the day after Christmas. The customer service was great. Took it in that morning and had it by the end of the day. The technician was very helpful explaining the process. I'd surely go back for other things such as window tinting or audio if I needed it. This place... damn what can I say. They're a prime example of why I don't shop local... trying to sell me stuff I don't need, trying to replace something that isn't broke... he didn't listen to the first sentence out of my mouth or just thought I didn't know what I was needing, I needed replacement remotes for a FUNCTIONAL system but he wanted to set up two NEW remotes for me. I did order replacement remotes, after calling the supplier, less than 20 bucks each sure beats the hell out of 80 plus tax and I'm sure he wouldn't have let me install them so I'm sure installation charge.... Did not have a good experience. Install had to be redone twice and still wasn't right. Had to pay again for it to be done right. They were nice but not effective. Used wrong equipment first time around. Left us without a backup camera for 3 weeks. read more

So the saga continues! I finally sucked it up and went to another shop to have the mess that Vernons made repaired as my headlights quit working, my break light turned on, and my check engine light all came on. I lost power in my breaks and the headlights turned off when I switched them to on with no brights. After paying another shop to fix it and having them inform me of what all they found, here's what I got; they had to completely remove the alarm and start over. The module that they said was bad was not even needed on my vehicle, the headlight wire was unplugged because of the cheap and easy connections they used, the check engine light is no longer on and the brakes now work again like new. I would not let anybody I know ever take their car there and would pay whatever it takes to not have them touch my car ever again. If anybody has any questions about this please feel free to ask! I am rating the window tinting department. Jimmy does the tinting and tells me he has 45 years experience. He did a great job. Did my front and side windows and they are fantastic. I thought it was very reasonable for the work he did and the results. Granted, (as mentioned in other reviews) the lady at the front desk (I believe is the owner) is a bit rough at first but is actually very nice. I bought my window tent from Vernon's some years back. At the time I was told, "lifetime warranty" When I picked up my car I asked for a receipt for the warranty and was told that the little window sticker with the company name was all I needed if I ever had a problem. Skip ahead a few years. My tent starts peeling off both front windows. I head to Vernon's to take advantage of that "lifetime warranty" and I am told, "Sorry, you have to have a receipt. I explained to them what Vernon himself had told me originally but it made no difference. They refused to honor the warranty. I encourage people not to do business with any company that behaves in such a dishonorable way. There are better places and better people to deal with. read more

My husband had his XM Radio installed at Vernon's. Junior, the technician was fantastic & professional. The guy knows his stuff. However, the owner's wife is quite unpleasant. We dropped off the car first thing in the morning on New Year's Eve. We then went to do errands and have breakfast. Just as we served our food, we get a call from Vernon's telling us we've got 15 min. to go pickup our car because they're closing early. Not once did they mention that when we dropped off the car. She was rude, and we'll never do service with them again. The only reason I rated this place three stars was because of Junior, a good technician in an unprofessional environment! read more

Do NOT Ever go to Vernons SVT. The owner Shellie is a crook. They do terrible work & do not warranty the work they do. I had my windows tinted there and they charged me an arm and a leg & not even 2 weeks later the tint was peeling, so i took it back & they refused to fix it. went in last week to have a oem 92 trooper radio installed, the lady was real rude, said it wouldn't work, WHAT? I had the radio installed in the dash already and all the needed to be done is wire it!! so I got my key back and as I was walking out I said " it will work, I'll do it myself, so I did and it works fine, these people don't know what they are doing, I'm surprised they are still in business, very very rude lady that runs the business!! read more

I took a brand new 2012 car in for window tinting. I made an appointment a week in advance. I went to pickup the car and was told there would be some bubbles and it would come out in 14 days. In 1 week, a purple spot developed in the back window. Also the side window had a crinkled spot. I took the car back up there and they told me it was substandard film. They redid the back and side window and there were scratches all over and then upon closer review the tinting was not cut even for all the windows. I took the car back again and the Owner (wife) of the owner did not even want to see the car but insisted that I bring it back. I decided to take it to Scott's auto tinting who did a beautiful job on the car! The owner's wife sent me a text message stating she would refund the money. That has not happened either! I would not recommend Vernon's to anyone and in fact would tell you to run the opposite direction and go to anyone else. The labor is incompetent. They also false advertise that they use Llumar film and they are not a distributor. read more
