I have been going to this Salon for many years. I knew the previous owner and she was wonderful…read more Now Sarah, the new, present owner is great too! I can tell they care deeply for their clients' health, comfort and well-being.
I'm always happy with the work they do. And I enjoy it for weeks because I have learned that it is worth it to get the gel/shellac both for mani and pedi -- it just keeps my nails strong and protected for so long, and doesn't wear off, & there's other benefits too. (see experience below)
I don't often take the time to do Yelp reviews, altho I rely on others' quite often :)
I am a mother of 3 boys, run my own business, etc, so I don't have time to treat myself to much. Coming to this salon is something I have done once in a while for self care, as it is practical and keeps serving me since the gel lasts for like a month, thru doing dishes, cooking, cleaning, paperwork, typing, tearing around w the kids, etc.
But the following is what prompted this review:
I was innocently cutting bread in my kitchen 2 weeks ago, and totally sliced into my thumbnail (see 1st pic below). LUCKILY I had about 3wks earlier gotten my first mani since last Mar due to covid, and the gel nail polish's protection saved my finger!!
That's not even the amazing part ...
I happened to be in the salon a few days later, not planning on being a client cuz of the cut. I was chatting with friends, and the owner saw the cut, sat down quickly and said, "Please have a seat, I will fix it."
I was hesitant & nervous because the slice still hurt as it had touched into my nail bed even though the gel prevented a deeper injury. I'd previously wondered if I should go to a Dr as I didn't know if I should get it glued, but just had slapped polysporin and a band-aid on to keep going with life, instead. :) My husband is a physician and a pain specialist, and we both thought there wasn't much we could do, I thought to go to a Dr to glue it but then I'd planned on just waiting the weeks/months it'd take to grow back.
She assured me she'd take care of it, amd sounded confident so I said ok. So glad I did!! Without prompt from me (as I was totally ignorant of what was possible), Sarah proceeded to take off the previous gel color (the turquoise below) somehow without causing pain to the cut. Then she built me a new nail in less than 4mins! Built it over the injury w acrylic and the result felt like a miracle of modern science lol...(see 2nd pic w orange red nail).
I was so flabbergasted I couldn't even pick a color, and I asked her to... and she chose this baffling bright shade I never would have picked... but I really love it! It has made me so happy every time I see my hands. She fixed the injury so quickly as if it didn't happen, & also she made it beautiful. This means a lot to me, as I have grown up with fingertip skin that peels/cracks no matter how much lotion I hydrate w, and nails that aren't naturally all that great
Anyway, trust me, go here, the management is wonderful, the care is spectacular, and the inside is totally renovated like brand new since a few months ago.
They give discounts to students, seniors & neighborhood residents, and the owner said they can reserve the entire place for you, if you don't want others there during your visit! they may be planning something like a Spring Fling special. Regardless, the best place. Book an appt. Trust.
