My girlfriend and I experienced extremely poor service at Flow Thai Massage, including incorrect booking by the receptionist Kathy and receiving significantly less massage time than promised, compounded by her unprofessional and dismissive attitude. This disappointing visit has led us to no longer recommend this spa, which we had frequented since 2020.
My girlfriend and I have been loyal customers at Flow Thai Massage since 2020, but a recent experience has completely shattered our trust. On May 4th, we called to book a 120-minute oil massage for the following day using our prepaid service voucher. Unfortunately, a new receptionist named Kathy incorrectly booked us for May 6th instead. Upon our arrival on the 5th, Kathy initially denied us service and only after significant back-and-forth did she reluctantly acknowledge her error. However, there was no apology or respect for the time and money we had invested in traveling there ($50 for a round-trip Uber).
Kathy then told us to return the next day, dismissing our time constraints. After we insisted, she compromised with a 90-minute session at 5:30 pm, not the 120 minutes we booked. The massage therapist arrived even later at 5:53 pm, and the session ended at 6:45 pm, effectively giving us only 52 minutes of massage. Kathy tried to claim an extra three minutes were provided, but evidence from text messages showed otherwise. It was indicative that they altered the clock in their massage room to let time "fly faster"--otherwise there was no reasonable explanation for the difference in the actual massage time. And this wasn't actually the first time we got shorter massage time than claimed, it was just that this time they were indeed too incompetent that we decided to give them the scrutiny we should have done long ago.
During a subsequent phone conversation, Kathy was dismissive and blamed us for not checking our booking confirmation. She said she would consult with the manager for a resolution but called back only to reiterate her stance, adding insult to injury by questioning, "Isn't not checking the confirmation your own fault?" Her attitude was not just unhelpful but outright arrogant. We told her that her response and condescending attitude was unacceptable then she said "ok I will ask and call you back bye" and hung up before we got the chance to talk.
Additionally, a glance at other Google reviews reveals that Kathy's poor customer service has been a recurring theme. Numerous customers have reported similar experiences of negligence and rudeness.
We tried discussing this further in person, but Kathy avoided us, opting instead to hide behind other guests. We have since demanded a refund for the undelivered service from the manager, given Kathy's unprofessionalism and the waste of our time and money.
I strongly advise against visiting Flow Thai Massage as long as there is no significant improvement in their customer service, particularly with staff like Kathy at the front desk. Our once-favorite spa has now lost two long-term customers due to this appalling service. read more
