I was so excited for my foot massage at knead. This was my first time here and I loved the vibes. The interior is really well decorated and I loved the calming music that they play. Tessa gave me such a great experience. I loved the hot foot bath and the heated towels made the massage such a nice escape from the cold. For the 25 minute massage, they also pay attention to your calves. They have shorts for you to change into if you don't want to roll up your pants. At the end, Tessa stretched my arms, neck, and back and I left feeling so relaxed. They also served me an amazing chamomile tea at the end and it was really delightful. I would recommend this spot to my friends!

First visit to Knead and it was one of the best massages I've ever had! I was looking for a massage space to sign up for a membership for a monthly massage, with a goal of under $100. I had considered Sabai Thai but their prices have jumped, in my experience. In comes this great place by Fraser and East 15th, between Spool of Thread and Savio Volpe. The receptionist was cold but besides that, everything else was top notch. The rooms are small but just right. They are open air at the top and there are quite a few lined up next to one another. Just before the rooms are foot massage chairs in the open. It looks like the full body massages are more popular as they seem to all be in use while no one was having their feet done. My masseuse asked me what areas to focus on. She began with a hot towel in my feet. I don't know what to expect but in the end, it was a top notch, relaxing and much needed experience. The tea at the end was lovely, unique tasting. Checkout with the same receptionist couldn't have been more blah but the massage experience more than made up for it. I signed up for the massage membership and can't wait to enjoy a monthly massage at Knead!

Jury's out on this one, as their $15 facial sign lured me in for some intelligence gathering…read more It's only a mini-facial, 30 minutes which prob means 20mins lol. And it's true you get what you pay for: didn't include extraction! Just cleanse, moisturizer, & a 'quick mask', whatever that means. Otherwise a full regular facial is $45, which is ok in this area. Could've dropped to a 2star but since i didn't try it, why would i--plus, it was fairly clean, lady was nice enough to barely answer my questions (but with a smile)...and allowed me to snoop around their display to see what kind of products they used... And mildly impressed: GM Collins, never heard of it, but the label says Made in Canada...so.... free parking in this mini-plaza.

I took a little bit of a hiatus from this salon. When I previously Yelped about this place I was…read moregoing every week. I recently went back and still think the 1 hour massage is decent. I was happy to see You-You is still working there as she will adapt the massage to your preference. I like deep-tissue and she is very strong so she has become my favourite!! As previously mentioned this is a low-key place. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles of a typical spa but how can you argue with the price? What they offer is a nice therapeutic massage at great value. I suggest paying with cash as you save a little bit of extra money -since you are saving them the banking fees ;)

Does anyone remember when this was a creepy sex shop with blacked out windows?…read more It's now home to a different type of writhing and many an "oh!" face: RMTs, the nicest people you will ever pay to physically hurt you. I went running three days ago and managed to do something ridiculous to my foot. Because i'm an idiot, I ignored it and went dancing... in heels. Not my proudest moment. You already know the ending: I woke up the next day and come hell or high water, could not stand on my sore foot for more then a few minutes. Enter two excruciatingly boring days on the couch before I called in some outside help. Here's what I know: I picked this place based on the close proximity to my house. All the good stuff is just bonus to the fact that I can be here and face planted on a table within 4 minutes flat. 1. I went online and booked same day, with an hour lead time. 2. It was $60 (tax in) for a 30 minute massage - which isn't "woo woo!" but it's standard. 3. After thirty minutes where Rick pulled, smushed and wiggled some things around (technical terms), and then took the time to grab the ol' text book for a quick knowledge session when I asked how he managed to poke my foot and make my shoulders quake (it was awesome), I left. The only reason ALL of this is awesome: I can stand! On TWO feet! My foot is still sore, but it's dull enough that I can once again resume being a functioning member of society. It's enough that I forgive them for calling themselves Mount Pleasant Massage when they are clearly in Riley Park. Respect the home turf guys! (I jest.) 30 minutes and I CAN do a happy dance again. Enough said.

Totally remembered this place as a creepy porn shop many years ago so by association was hesitant…read moreto try it. I got over it since it was so close to home due to the great online booking tool which was very convenient and they were open on Saturdays, bonus! I was looking forward to getting my treatment started. I selected a random therapist from their list. First impression: Clean and bright. No one was at the front desk. I arrived 10 min early as their website suggested for new patients. I waited a bit and finally someone came out, he gave me the new patient form to fill in and was very nice and friendly. However, it turns out he is one of the therapists because his patient soon came in and he left to treat her. After that there was no one else at the front, just me sitting there waiting. Several people came in during this time and waited for someone and a few eventually left. During my wait various therapists came out with their patients post treatment and processed their own payments. I think a receptionist would have been helpful. My appointment was booked for 60 min and my therapist was running 15 min late by the time she came out with her patient. After their chit chat and payment processing it was closer to 20 min into my appointment before she acknowledged me and said sorry, she was running a bit late...including the 10 min early arrival I had been waiting for 30 min! Overall treatment was okay. I have had better. Unfortunately, the first impressions will not have me going back.
