The landscape is red / orange and full of places to explore and hike around. There are some neat little caves, arches, and assorted nooks and crannies. Great place for everyone to enjoy. I saw families with little ones climbing and hiking, and adults of various ages traversing the rocks. There is a way to hike up to the top of the largest peak, but it is slippery getting up and down. We only explored a very small portion of the area as we needed to mosey on over to our final destination of Zion but it def looks like something we'd be all-over if we're in the area again. The views are spectacular but be sure to bring water, hat and sunscreen as there's not much in the way of shade--at least in the St George portion we reconnoitered. Happy hikes, kids!

Best RV Park in St. George area!…read more Sites are mostly level with large gravel. Sites are very well spaced out and deep! The noise level has greatly improved with the large retention walls on the side of i15. The resort is super clean! Free trash pick up, two dog parks, free doggy poop bags, daily propane fill up, and more. Laundry and bathrooms are very well kept. I haven't used the pool area but I always see staff cleaning and prepping the area. Baseball court, swings, and more are available! The prices are reasonable and what really makes it special is the staff! They are absolutely amazing, from Bree, Dillon, Kevin, Rosie, Marysa and Brevin, the truly take care of the resort and the guests. They've started with weekly events to bring people together, including weekly yoga, group cooking classes, poker night and more. Some are for the whole family and some just for adults.

We brought our side by side and with our whole set up we were 75' long and they easily accommodated us in a pull through. You can drive on streets in your off roader from the park all the way to the trails and dunes. You do need to purchase a permit to off road, which you can do online before you arrive. They kept us up to date on different happenings through the week...a yoga class, a couple food trucks (which were delicious) and a derby party. Fun touches! We would definitely stay here again!

There's a path that winds through the park that takes you through the trees, past the flowers and the bushes. There are signs throughout that tell visitors what plants are in the area, so you can better identify what you're looking at. Even though it gets extremely hot in the summer, there's a good amount of shade, so this park can be enjoyed morning, noon and night.

There are lots of birds to see in the morning. It was nice to visit a park that doesn't have a bunch of hobos camping out, like many of the parks here in Southern Nevada nowadays. We will never stay here again!…read more We were sent a text today from the campground that know one is allowed to ride bikes, scooters, anything motorized around the campground. This means our kids cannot ride there bikes around here anymore. This was the exact text we received: From Desert Canyons RV Park: Guests, this a reminder of park policies. We have these for the consideration of your fellow campers and the safety in the park. We do not allow cutting through other camp sites to get around the park ! Also we do not allow joy riding in the park on motorcycles , bikes or scooters. The speed limit int he park is 10 MPH or less. We want everyone to have a good time and still feel safe on our property . Thank you , Desert Canyon management (NO REPLY) We really have enjoyed the campground until this experience. My kids have been yelled at for riding around and just being kids but the elderly are allowed to ride there little scooters, side by sides, bikes etc. Pretty disappointing!
