I would give them a -10 if I could. First, let me say that there are 2 type of Verizon stores. The first is Verizon Corporate. The second is Authorized Retailers. The store being reviewed here is the second type. I would recommend not doing business with this store. I'll tell you what happened to me, and you can decide if this store is ripping people off. I lost my phone and bought a similar replacement, but it did not include a sim card. I called Verizon support for help. They said I could go to a corporate store nearby, and get a sim card for free, or I could go to another closer store and get it for around $10. Pressed for time, I decided to go to the closer store and just pay the $10. When I got there, I told the person helping me I needed a sim card and showed him the phone. He told me the sim card would be $10, plus $40 for activation. I asked him if I could just take the sim card, go home and put it in (which anyone can do in about 2 minutes), could I activate it from my online account? He said no. I asked him if I went to the Corporate store and got the sim card for free, would they still charge me $40 for activation? He said yes, I have to pay $40 for activation no matter what I do. I said OK, well do it, and paid $53 on a credit card. I went home and did an online inquiry about this. The answer was - if its adding a replacement phone on an existing line, no activation is needed, just put the sim card in the phone and you are good to go. I called Verizon support and they told me the same thing. When I told them what happened, they said they could not refund the credit card, but would deduct the $40 from my next bill. A short time later, I was reviewing my emails, and saw the receipt from the Verizon store. Here is what the $39.99 line item description said: "OTFENS000031 Set Up and Go Service Smartphone 1 $39.99 $39.99". OK, not "Activation". It appears they are charging $39.99 for putting the sim card in the phone, and telling people it's "Activation". Like I said, anyone can put the sim card in a couple of minutes. My 3 year old granddaughter could probably do it with a little help. read more

I went there looking to replace my phone. The young girl there said she could not help me without my pin number. I had my license and monthly bill but she was not willing to go any further. I went to Verizon in Woodbridge they simply asked for my phone number and had a replacement phone sent which I received the following day. They never asked for my pin. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to a corporate verizon store! Anish L totally took advantage of my sister who is 72 and knows nothing about cell phones. He sold her the most expensive phone and additional products. Told her that her monthly bill would be one price and it's not! When I went back with her to help her try and get a phone that was not so expensive to try and lower her bill since she is on a fixed income (at the advice of verizon corporate) he was totally unwilling and rude! This was less than 30 days after purchase. His response was you had 14 days! So happy that I am an AT&T customer!! At least verizon corporate was able to get her unlimited data at no additional cost. I had such a terrible time at this store. There was one person working, his name was Angel. I waited for 45 minutes, as he was helping another customer, but was giving him the wrong technical information. He doesn't know how set up an iPhone, and the problem the customer was having was clearly something apple customer care related, so I watch him give wrong information on setting up a phone (my bad for not intervening sooner to give the correct advice, after i did the guy left). Then Angel came to us to help, but clearly couldn't communicate properly and explain the what terms were for adding a new line and upgrading a phone. He was clearly trying to talk us into the more expensive option by confusing us. I had to ask him to slow down so I could write both options of having a contract or doing month to month to see which would be cheaper in the long run (because was trying to confuse us). Then me mentioned that Verizon charges an extra $20 to set up the phone, when I asked for clarification he mentioned its the store that does that and not Verizon (I asked several times as that was never something I've paid before). Why on earth would I pay the store to set up an iPhone, when it does it automatically? He also said that in order to do a month to month plan, and lease my phone I would have to pay $200 up front and then the $27.50 monthly, which made no sense, as the Verizon website clearly does not have it set up this way, turns out the $200 upfront was for some accessory package that was mandatory. I mentioned this and said why would I get the phone here, and not online to avoid all those fees and his answer was "buying online is way cheaper, but your paying for the convenience here in the store". I laughed, what is the convenience of waiting almost an hour, hearing him tell the wrong information to the other customer and then trying to scam me. No thank you. I would avoid this location. If there was an option to give no stars I would do that. I usually don't post negative experiences, but I feel like this location was really trying to scam me and other customers. read more
