Will not go into details but agreeing with all the other comments and sentiment here. The employees here need customer service and cultural diversity equity and inclusion training. They were rude and dismissive. They made me feel guilty being in the store; the two employees made it seem like I was a burden on them. Customer facing service and support should be key to delivering any service or product - the 101 to any business small or large. So disappointed in verizon. When I moved last year and I had to switch Cellular Phone Carriers, due to the fact that my previous Carrier couldn't provide reliable service in the Senior Building Built in 1985, with its Steel Beams and Structure, that I moved to. So my Daughter convinced me to Trade-In my Less than 1 year old 13 Pro iPhone since they were offering a FREE 14 ProMax for New Customers. I went there, explained what I wanted, and traded in my Pristine 13 Pro iPhone. The very nice young man said they would give me $1,000.00 for my Trade-In, so I decided to grab an iPad, because I was told it could be synced with the iPhone. All of a sudden, I'm looking at a monthly Increase from $23.00 a month from my Old Carrier to $186.00 a month from Verizon. NOT Including the Monthly Fees - AND NO, I don't find out until Days Later that I CANNOT USE the SAME PHONE NUMBER on the iPad even though I was lead to believe I could! That's when I paid the iPad OFF to lower my Monthly Bill, took it OFF my account. When my Daughter visits from Texas, I will give it to Her. Did I mention earlier that I am a 71 year old Widow, Disabled with Multiple Sclerosis and Computer / Technology Challenged? Anyway, I am then informed the $1,000.00 for my Trade-In would be broken down and credited to my Monthly Statements which comes out to an approximate $3.00+ deduction each Statement until my New 14 Pro Max Phone is Paid Off. OH! Sorry, I believe I neglected to say that since I needed an iPhone Larger than the FREE iPhone 14 they were giving to NEW CUSTOMERS - necessary for those like me who needed one I could actually SEE what was on the SCREEN - I had to pay FULL PRICE for a 14 Pro Max iPhone. NOT JUST the DIFFERENCE in PRICE Between the iPhone 14 that was FREE and the Bigger, Better Phone ( I needed because of my loss of Vision due to my Disability). THEN a couple months ago, I figure I must have done something wrong because I have important calls going directly to a "Blocked Call" File I didn't even know existed. So I go back to the Same Verizon Store I purchased the iPhone from, and the Short, Stout Man (claiming to be the Manager), standing at the first Desk/Table (whose never missed a meal in His life), asked if He could help me - as He's holding His Outdated Tie with His Fingers from Both Hands because it's that's WIDE - and constantly flipping it up to His Mouth and letting it Fall to His Extended Belly. I TRY to ignore His ignorance and explain the problem and He sarcastically says: "We Sell "Em. We Don't Fix 'Em". Once again, I ask: "Could it be something in the Settings you could change?" His response was (as He hasn't skipped a beat with flipping His Tie): "Are You Deaf? Go to Apple". Fortunately I have mellowed with age and meds or this could have turned out very differently. I decided it would be best to leave before one of us got hurt or arrested. However I did call Verizon and a very nice young person walked me through the process in my settings and was able to fix the problem. She asked for a Description of the "Manager" as well as a Location of the Verizon Store - Rt. 18 South, East Brunswick, NJ, and Filed a Disciplinary Complaint against Him. I must say, I was surprised and satisfied. Naturally I expected an apology, which I would not have accepted because it wasn't coming from Him. However I was impressed that this Person thought to pursue action which impressed me. Wish I had thought of it. So I must say, I hope Verizon realizes what a great Customer Service Person they have and my only regret is that I do not remember Their name. If I should happen to go back to THAT Verizon Store, I will NOT be going alone. IF He's there and gives me a problem, I will call Verizon while I'm still in the Store. read more

Walk in no one says anything to help or greet, prob more employees then customers in store , I find two coworkers talking to each other. Before I could even say anything they said only apple can help you, not a suggestion, not a common courtesy, look up on my account, fact I was also their to upgrade my phone but certainly won't go their considering their employees were more concerned with their phones then helping one of two customers there. Everyone in the store was annoyed we even walked in. I go in with an issue on my iPhone 13, which I had bought FROM VERIZON, only to be told rudely "you have to go to apple, it's an IPHONE." The guy didn't even looking at the god damn phone before pushing me off to menlo mall. I admitted walked out frustrated saying "that is so dumb, but okay, whatever." but my fiance had walked back in to ask about insurance we have on the phone. Mind you he had said NOTHING till then and was told by the female staff member to leave. He hasn't spoken up on anything till that point. Literally went to the Verizon over in Spotswood and they helped me out and trouble shoot the phone. Everytime I come into this store, it's some issue for why they can't help me, for one reason or another. Maybe if staff wasn't so rude at the beginning, while it would have been unfortunate they couldn't help, I would have understood. But I didn't even got told WHY they couldn't look at, other than it's an iPhone (why sell them in that case????) Be nicer to your customers, maybe THEN you'll get business at this location instead. read more

I went there today to see about an iPhone. This African-American girl seem like right away she didn't want to bother with me. I just started talking to her about what I was looking for when she rolled her eyes and told another associate to help me. She was rude and snippy with a don't bother me demeanor. Now I'm an older Hispanic gentleman and I wonder if that had a role to play here because after she brushed me off, she went over to a white couple with a pleasant disposition and asked if she could help them. I stood around for a few minutes and saw her sitting down with the couple, smiling and having a good time. I'll go online if I need to deal with a Verizon. After over 25 years as a Verizon wireless customer, my experience on June 22nd 2021 at the 323 NJ-18, East Brunswick, NJ 08816 was the most disgusting imaginable.  This reprehensible service was delivered by Verizon representative Angela Pope. The purpose of my visit on Tuesday was to exchange accessories for my newly purchased iPhone 12 Pro. I expected the excellent service I had grown accustomed to over the last 25 years but was treated like a piece of trash, a mere disruption to Angela Pope's life. After waiting for over 15 minutes to be checked in, I began looking at the phone cases, where I was eventually approached by Angela. I explained that I needed the correct accessories.  She brusquely said there were no screen covers and asked me if I'd signed in.  I told her the other Associate, who was with another customer, did not get to me yet.  She said she'd get back to me. After waiting for another 10 minutes another lady came behind me and asked if I had already signed in. I related the story to her and we waited another 10 minutes until a couple and their children joined the line. Angela came to the line and again asked me what did I need. I repeated my request and she told me to stand on the side and she'd be with me. She then addressed the lady directly behind me, told her she needed an appointment but to go to the next available representative. She proceeded to the couple, who needed new phones. She immediately told them they would need an appointment and offered to book it for them. Angela was very courteous to this family, making small talk, complimenting their children and advising them that perhaps they should wait until August for the new version of mobile; while I had now waited for 32 minutes. At this point I apologized for interrupting her conversation but explained that I'd been waiting over 30 minutes.  Angela told me if I didn't care to wait I should go to another store or mail in my items.  Even the gentleman (from the later-arrived family) she was helping stated that I was there before him and should be served.  She reluctantly sauntered over and proceeded to tell me off. She loudly stated that she noticed me the moment I arrived in the store that I was "poorly dressed" and basically didn't deserve her attention. Even the other customers were appalled. Granted it was raining and I ran out of my house in a T-shirt and leggings to get there before closing.  How did that give her the right to be that disrespectful?! She even had the audacity to threaten to note my records that I was using profanity in the store after I said this is "bloody" outrageous.  I wasn't dirty but even if I was,  how would that justify disrespectful and condescending behavior to a customer. She eventually took my information, processed the transaction and walked away.  There was no confirmation, no receipt or anything. I had to call Customer Service to verify if she credited my account. Based on the reviews in Yelp and Google, this store consistently delivers horrible service.  How is it that no one from VZW management has investigated to remedy this situation? How is Angela a representative of your brand? Had I not just purchased this phone and recommitted to a 24 month ordeal with VZW, I would have certainly given my business to T mobile or ATT. I honor your position as the leader of VZW and hope that you will reciprocate by reprimanding Angela and the correcting the general lack of professionalism in your East Brunswick, NJ store. read more

Went to the store to upgrade my IPhone. There were 3 Verizon personnel sitting idle and the store was empty. I do mean empty, not a single customer in the location. I didn't have an appointment, didn't know I needed one. Because I had no appt, no one could help me. I was advised that the only way to make an appt is on the app. They were all literally sitting there staring at each other with nothing to do.... I totally understand the need for COVID-19 protocol but seriously Verizon, you need to get it together at this location! I've used this location in the past with good results but this left me scratching my head. I went to TCC Verizon, an independently owned Verizon store in Old Bridge and made my purchase, no problem. After checking in with my phone number and them knowing I'm not the account holder/on the account since they said that when I checked in I had to wait an hour in my car for them to tell me they can't help me since I'm not the account holder. And my sister went their last week and isn't an account holder and got a phone no problem. Such a waste of time. You think the person who checked me in would have said something from the beginning. After driving around nj trying to find a verizon store to help me i ended up at the east brunswick location.. and thank goodness i did because i was super frustrated until i came to this location. Quality staff who helped me with all the issues i was having with my account. Raj and loretta were super helpful and made the process quick and easy! I have two locations closer to me but I will be returning to this location for all future verizon transactions because the service was awesome! read more

The rudest employees ever. Pandemic or no pandemic there is no justification to treat people with such disrespect. I witnessed and employee turning their back on a customer after snapping at him when he was trying to pay his bill. They were unorganized and didnt take names as they usually do when you walk in. They completely ignored me until I pointed it out and she barked at me. It will be a long time before I go back here. They need better help. Went to the store to switch to Verizon, the woman that "helped" me, was not helpful at all, she did not want to be there or help me. I tried to make the switch online, hoping for a better costumer service, and didn't get one, was on the website for 2 hours, talked to 3 different agents, kept getting disconnected. Overall, the Verizon customer service is perhaps the best in the business when you call on the phone. This store is absolutely atrocious and a rare exception to the Verizon model. I have gone here on several occasions and each time had a bad experience. The staff is arrogant and unhelpful. They try to sell you things you don't need and take advantage of people who aren't as savy. My wife was looking for an accessory on a phone that was only only a year old and was told by one of the associates that the phone was ancient and she needs a new one even and didn't assist at all. I now go to the store in the Menlo park mall who are extremely professional and friendly. If you have a choice please go elsewhere. I wish I could negative stars. This doesn't even deserve one but it wouldn't let me post without it. read more

Some days you can't be happier with the service you get, they bend over backwards. My wife and I went in the other day to upgrade her phone and it was great. They were helpful, explained everything, no problems. Yesterday I came back because the guy convinced me to get a tempered glass screen protector for my phone. Every customer in the store looked thoroughly annoyed, 2 people were complaining that people that came in after them got helped first and they were waiting for over an hour. I stood there for 10 minutes and not one employee acknowledged I was there to take my name, or say they will be with me in a moment, just walked past. Not that I need to be greeted wherever I go, but just to get my name on this list?.....I walked out. Came back tonight, half the amount of customers and once again everybody looked annoyed. My question, what changed in 2 days??? I waited for 10 minutes, once again not acknowledged. The guy started calling names out on the list, I asked him how I could get my name on the list for a screen protector, he just told me the list was long and walked past me calling out names again, total lack of respect. I understand in retail you work long hours, and sometimes it gets to the point where you just see numbers not faces. Just try to remember that people are traveling to your store, and deserve just as much respect for their time as you do when you are not working and going to a store yourself. Went to go get some help in regard to a purchase. I asked this young girl for help with someone that speaks Spanish and she responded "in this store, we don't speak Spanish here" rolled her eyes then left. We had to get help from someone else since she left. We ended up talking to the manager without knowing he was the manager and complained about the young lady, turns out she's the manager. We went there three times and turns out the three times we went the same girl was there. All of the specialists that we received help from didn't know what to do so they asked her for help. She told them they couldn't help us and that we should call customer service. Customer service ends up telling me they couldn't help us and that the store was obliged to help us. At the store, I checked the reviews and it turns out this female manager, trinity, has lots of issues with only the customers that are Hispanic. She loves to help out white folks instead of Hispanics regardless of their position in the queue. Not only that but there's this one specialist that gave us a dirty look, she looks just like Janet Jackson, her name is Angela, I suggest not going up to her. I've always had good experiences whenever I came here. I know it can vary depending who you get in the store, or maybe the time of day/season. Whenever I came for upgrades, they rung me up and sometimes helped me set up the phone. One time I got a younger guy who seemed a little tired and gruff as he explained how to put in my emails and contacts, but at the end of the day he helped me. Overall, they have been friendly, some even having enough energy to joke around. I've been lucky enough that they didn't try to go nuts selling me anything extra. Other times I've come in, and when it's super quiet, they approach you before you even have a chance to type in your name to reserve a customer service time slot (those little keypad stations when you enter). One woman helped me super quick when I came in for a new car charger. She got the product, swiped my credit card on a tablet, and printed out a receipt for me. The entire transaction took 10 minutes. I waited an hour and when they finally waited on me they promptly broke my watch and phone and told me I had to go to an Apple store. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I had to wait some more. Finally I stood up and said to the customers in the store, attention--they broke my phone and watch. This got the attention of the manager, who, as it turned out, was standing next to the sales person who broke my watch and phone the whole time. He told me I couldn't talk like that in the store and I told him to call the police and we could go to court. After making me wait some more he was able to fix the phone and watch. Gentleman came to help, and told me he couldn't help me with anything. Guarantee was only because I wasn't giving him phone commission. Had to go to a 3rd party Verizon store to pay my bill. watch out for the con game. I am not one to easily get scammed, but i was scammed by this store. The sales people will bundle items onto your purchase. you have 14 days to return the items without paying a restocking fee, but you will not see a bill for 30 days. They also do not provide you with an official copy of your future bill upon purchase (they do this on purpose). Therefore, when your bill arrives, and you freak out because you have been unjustly overcharged, you get hit with a $50 fee to return the item. TOTAL SCAM. Thankfully, the overarching Verizon understood this was a scam and reimbursed us for everything but the the restocking fee, which has to be done local. The store would not refund us the restocking fee because we tried to return at day 17. Consider this your warning. read more

They need to close this retail location down and or hire people that actually want to treat their customers for 15 plus years better. Do not buy a case for your phone from Verizon they clearly do not stand behind their products. My son bought a phone and a case, that we were assured by their salesperson would protect the screen from being cracked . He dropped it coming out of his car about 4 feet from the street. It was badly cracked with internal damage. I bought my own case for my phone on Amazon, same price as Verizon with warranty. Verizon would do absolutely nothing for me except charge me the full cost to replace it. Luckily I had insurance which is independent from Verizon. Buy you accessories elsewhere I have learned. read more

I was a little hesitant going into this Verizon store since I saw too many poor reviews on Yelp. However, I was helped by Kenny, who was very patient with this baby boomer. He got me into a better monthly plan for the same amount of money and I ended up buying a new phone. He was very knowledgeable and professional. There was just one hitch, which was my fault, not his. I didn't realize the phone would have to be synced to my car, I thought just because my old Iphone was synced, this one would automatically do so. I had such a hard time doing it, so I ended up going into the Honda dealer and they did it for me. read more

I just go here because it's close to my house and I pay my monthly bill at the store. I didn't even want a cell service other than the$25 Virgin mobile plan I had. It was unlimited talk, text and data! All for $25. I had it for years and never had an issue with service... Until I started working Monroe. I couldn't get a signal there and had to switch to a different company for my job. I was told Verizon service worked best in that area, so I switched. Back in October of 2013, I actually came to this location to do so. Sales guy was pretty helpful. Even told me my fairly new Samsung could be traded in for some money towards my new phone. My main concern with switching to a different provider was the huge bills everyone seems to complain about. After paying $25 a month for good service, the thought of anything higher than that made me cringe. Especially since I pretty much text three people total. Sad, but true. Anyway, long story short, the best the dude could do for me was unlimited talk/text and some limited data plan. No more than $100 a month. Totally wasn't happy with that, but I didn't have another option. Month one, $100. Month 2,3,4,5... Continued to rise. Figuring I was going over my data, I looked at my account. I noticed that my plan was a $60 plan, so then I was really pissed off that I was paying almost $50 more than that. Not wanting to go to this location because there is usually a line out the door, I went to another location where someone looked at my plan. I did in fact have a $60 plan, but I was being charged an additional $40, for a reason I now forget. Maybe to protect me from going over my data charge, which I wasn't even close to hitting. Anyway the guy was able to take off that charge! We'll see what happens next month. All in all, this location is ALWAYS packed. People are waiting outside before it even opens on the reg. It's always REALLY hot inside and it just seems like the people who work there are like car salesmen... Can't wait for my plan to be done next year! read more

This three star review is an average of a 1 star and a 5 star review, based on my experiences on 2 consecutive days at this particular branch of Verizon. The first day, I came into upgrade my phone from a Google Pixel to the iPhone XS. The employee who helped me showed me just how terrible customer service truly could be. Despite the fact that I buying up front a device that costs $1000+ he radiated impatience throughout the whole transaction, steam rolling over me at every point. He wouldn't even let me chose my own phone case without my explicitly asking to have some time to look at all the available cases. He also implied that purchase of a case and screen protector would come with a wireless charger and a car charger (which seemed weirdly generous of Verizon since wireless chargers are pretty expensive and cases are generally not), and then wouldn't even let me look at the charges on the receipt when I signed, instead just confirming the receipt would be emailed to me. After that, he proceeded to try and set up my phone for me, assuming I was a new Apple customer since I'd previous had a Pixel instead of taking the 10 seconds to ASK ME. Of course I immediately checked my emailed receipt when I arrived home and, unsurprisingly, discovered the wireless charger and car charger did not 'come with' the purchase of a case/screen protector (there were marginal savings from buying the whole package but I didn't really need a wireless charger and definitely didn't need a car charger). This, of course, meant I had to go into Verizon the next day to return the two chargers. The woman who serviced me on the second day could not have been nicer. She helped me process the return of the two chargers and trade-in of my old Pixel, while simultaneously helping entering customers register for the waitlist, and helping guide other employees to the next customer. She did make a mistake initially when helping me trade-in the Pixel (honestly, not surprising considering she was doing three things at once), but she caught it immediately, apologized, and fixed it promptly. Basically, if you're lucky the service will be excellent, but if not it will truly suck. While I usually lean towards going to brick-and-mortar places and having actual face-to-face contact with a real human being, in this situation I'd probably try to see how far you can get by using the website before venturing here. read more

Went in to have my son's phone looked at. The phone keeps on rebooting randomly. The first thing the associate looked for was water damage, probably because I wouldn't know how to do that myself.
