They did call around 11 to say that they would be an hour late. 2 promises broken. When they did show up, they did not have a long enough drill bit to run the cable through my wall. That meant a two hour drive to the closest big city to get the right-sized drill bit. The installers left at 8:30 pm. The new internet was not functioning. The installers were independent contractors. They said that they could not make my internet operational but the company would get it running in a day or two. The cable was strewn across my yard forming almost a 270 degree arc. Needless to say, it was not buried either. That apparently is another independent contractor. The installers said that I would be contacted in a couple of days to schedule the bu of the fiber optic cable. Five days later, no call re burying the cable. The internet was connected yesterday by a Point technician who was checking the work of the independent contractors. He said that the fiber optic cable was improperly connected to the junction box in my yard. The technician also stated that if the cable had been connected properly, it would have been on on Friday. The internet did work for a couple of hours. Then it stopped. It got started again when I called customer service. It ran at near the advertised speed. Until it didn't. That was in the evening when I tried to watch tv. When I called customer service, the tech side was closed and I had to call back today. It turns out that the company provided modem is "known to have issues " which have been remedied by installing my old modem. Now I have an appointment next week for a technician to bring me a new modem. What are the odds that he will show up during the scheduled window? Last thing. The salesman who told me to call him if I had any problems, when called said "I can't help you with any of that." Not a great way to start out. Be forewarned.

I asked if there was anything they were planning on doing for their customers to make things right with these frequent and long outages and they said they wouldn't be doing anything but thanking us for our patience. this is the only fiber internet I've had that has outages. it's absolutely insane. their customer service is terrible. $70/month for spotty fiber internet that always has outages? no thanks. Don't waste your money or time on them.

Service has been as advertised. 10mbs, always running at least 9.5 so it's good…read more Giving two stars because of billing practices. Yeah, I know, I know, phone companies and utilities in general are known for their shady billing practices. But I just thought I'd write for the record... The deal where you get 10mbps service for $34.95 per month for 12 months with a 12 month contract is false advertisement. It should read $34.95 per month for 10 months and $44.95 per month for 2. The reason for this is you are required to sign up for autopay to get the extra $10. But I could not sign up for it until a bill was generated. Once a bill is generated it already has billed for a month, and a prorated month. Then you're first bill will only have a one time $19.00 promotional discount, when it should be $19.00 per month. (two months), basically if I get what they promised, I should have received $60.00 off my first bill. Because the standard price for this package is $63.95 per month. They charged me for two months at $63.95 and only took of $19.00 total (on time). Then they tell you that even though you a paying for a prorated month, they do not take off the extra $10, even though I signed up for autopay the very night the bill was actually generated. I'll be watching my next months bill. He said it would be normal. I felt like if it's not it constitutes a clear breach of contract on their end (oh that's right, these contracts are made to protect THEM), but it doesn't matter any way. In Damascus VA, there is no other choice for high speed. Unless you want to go with Zito and pay $50 per month anyway for an average speed of 0.05mbps. Oh, and it took 1 hour and 25 minutes on the phone (mostly on hold) to score this extra $19.00 taken off my bill. When it should be have been $39.00 off the bill. So I got screwed out of a good amount of time and money.

However, before the installation appointment, we received an email stating the service would actually be $40 per month with a "-$55 promotional discount," and that the promotional rate would last for 24 months. That means after 24 months, the bill would increase to $95 per month before taxes. My wife and I were upset because this was not what we were told. The installation was rescheduled twice due to weather. When they called again to reschedule, we told them we wanted to cancel. The representative became rude and told us we had to call 888-438-2427 to cancel. We called, and a representative from the Miami office was very helpful and professional. She explained that the door-to-door salespeople are third-party contractors and cannot set up billing the way they had described. She also clarified that the router is not actually free -- you still have to pay for it. She successfully canceled our service. Despite canceling, the office in Bristol, TN continues to call and harass both me and my wife. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others to carefully review all terms in writing before agreeing to service. If the calls continue, I will consider contacting my lawyer.

Speed test shows a gig at equipment but on any device I test I usually receive between 80 mbps to 150 mbps. I have contacted customer service. They sent out a tech. He confirmed but was unable to resolve the issue. I try to keep my device on the 5.0 ghz and on ipv6. Speeds there are about 250mbps. While nowhere close to what it should be it was better, however it reverts back to the 2.4 ghz and ipv4 in less than 2 min each time I set it up. Spectrum has no option to separate and only run one setting.
