I was working with Hailey on a Veritas Course prep for GMAT, and got a 770. A few thoughts below but tldr my success was not credited to Veritas Prep - 1. Before you start this course. If you are scoring above 700, I would not recommend this course as it spends a LOT of time on basic, pretty easy questions. 2. The pace of this class is S.L.O.W - the burden on the instructor is that she has to address all questions on the online 'chat'. That slows everything down, with people who have not done their homework affecting the progress of everyone else. 3. I give this review 3 stars because I loved the resources Veritas provides. There is enough to keep you busy every week, challenging questions, and covers all 'types' of questions. The practice tests are also hard and challenge you to think beyond the superficial. 4. Hailey was cool & so was her TA. I appreciated her help, her determination to make class fun, and her prompt replies to emails with follow-up questions. In conclusion, if you are already a high-performer and looking for a 20-30 point increase, I would point to Magoosh or if you got the cash, then a private tutor. read more

I spent hours, days, basically forever online scouring reviews for different GMAT courses. Veritas Prep came up pretty often, and almost all of the ones from LA had the same comment, sign up for Ravi's class. So I did. And now that I've finished, I have one word of advice -sign up for Ravi's class. Ravi teaches the material in a fun, straight-forward, and very easy to understand way. The class taught me not just how to master the material, but specifically (and very importantly) the strategies needed to score high. In all of my past education from elementary to university, I have never had a teacher as effective as Ravi. You can tell he knows everything backwards and forwards. If you doubt his credentials, you should know he has both an MBA and a JD. There's really nothing else that can be said. Well he's also really cool. So there's that. read more

I called Veritas to inquire about their GMAT courses and spoke with Bassel who was so incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and professional. He explained the entire GMAT prep course process to me including the different course options, the study materials, and even walked me through the entire Veritas website - going through videos, practice tests, and every other tab on the website's home page. He even helped me fix my computer's settings so that Adobe would properly launch the videos! Not only did he explain Veritas and their program, he also asked me about why I was taking the course and what my goals were - and then explained how I could meet those goals through their program. Prior to this week I had never considered taking the GMAT but Bassel answered all of my questions and concerns and didn't push the product, he made sure that I knew what I was getting myself into so that I could make the right choice for myself. This type of customer service and appreciation for each individual is why I decided to sign up for the GMAT prep course. Thank you Bassel for all of your help! I am looking forward to starting this journey with Veritas. :) read more

GAHD I love Veritas Prep. Everything about them is top notch: teachers, classes, online materials, customer service, books, etc. I took the class a while ago but got too busy to study so it was super handy that they let you take a class again for free to refresh your memory. If you take classes in LA, you might just be lucky enough to take classes with the awesome people that contributed to the book! read more

Took a course before my GMAT and it was v intense with a great teacher, Travis Morgan. The set-up covers basically everything, but if you're strapped for time you need to plan the actual test a couple of weeks after the end of the course so you can review. If you're taking class twice a week for three hours, go and find the time to study on other days with a FT management job... but that's my situation. I planned my exam a few days after the end, and this didn't help. Also when doing practice tests; make sure you do the essays too. Not because you care to get them right or practice, but you need to train to stay focussed for the verbal section (mine halved from practice to real test). Trust me, it's worth spending the extra time. Also, take a few days off before the test to be fully rested. As I said, good course, great teacher who really goes through the processes of 'understanding' instead of solving a particular problem. read more

I was hesitant to take an online course. I was concerned about the effectiveness and the ability of the class to focus on individual student concerns. With that being said, Veritas Prep has MASTERED online teaching. The platform is very unique. The teacher is live during the entire course time and there is a chat room with all the other students in it. There is a moderator in the chat room that you can type questions too and she works in conjunction with the teacher. The teacher can also see everything you're chatting and will even throw in comments and answer questions (he just says them out loud, instead of typing them.) It really DOES feel like you're in a real time classroom. On top of it, all classes, including chats, are recorded and you are given access to them for 1 year. This is GREAT for someone like me! My course ran from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. because I'm on the east coast and I work too early to stay up that late every class day. I would typically sit through the first two hours and then watch the last hour the next day. This was very helpful to me. The pre-class quizzes made sure you did your prep work. The homework was for your benefits! They definitely provide as much structure as possible, for those who aren't as self motivated as others. Between the pre-class quizzes, the class, and the homework, you definitely have the tools to do well. Onto my teacher, Ravi. Oh Ravi, I will always remember your laugh at our classes corny jokes. Ravi is intelligent and entertaining, exactly what you need with this type of material! He was able to answer questions in great detail, without stumbling or making up BS answers. He engaged the class by reading the chat room content while teaching (how does he do that?!) and had anecdotes and jokes for us to keep the class moving. I choose him after reading on the forums that he's the best, and I'm really glad I did. He is an excellent teacher and I felt comfortable asking him questions and getting honest feedback. Thank you for such a great experience Veritas! I'm taking my GMAT soon and I'm excited to see the results. **I'm not sure why there are two Veritas Prep Yelp pages, so I posted to both** read more

I am currently taking the Veritas Prep course in Santa Monica. Prior to enrolling I conducted extensive research on the other prep courses out there and concluded Veritas was my best bet. After auditing one of the Veritas courses I could definitely tell the difference between the veritas course and some of the other courses I sat in. The instructors at veritas were more engaging and really focused on conceptual learning and test taking strategies. With the other courses they seemed to move really fast and focused heavily on test strategies. The staff at Veritas that I corresponded with (Marc, Jenny and Kori) were great. Very professional and friendly. They go the extra mile to make sure your experience with Veritas is a good one. As for the course itself, the materials are very good and the instructors teach you how to really manipulate concepts that on the surface seem simple but are asked in complex ways. Overall, I would definitely recommend Veritas as the way to go for gmat preparation. The investment is paying off for me because my test scores have gone up significantly since enrolling. read more

I searched, and searched, and searched for the best College Prep company out there...and BAM! Veritas Prep appears. This company is world class, and I don't regret prepping for college admissions with them one bit. I did not have a single clue about the college admission process in the US, and Veritas guided me through it the whole way--from SAT's and ACT's all the way to acceptance. If you are reading this, stop and seriously consider trying Veritas before you move on. I recommend it 100% PD: Beau Borrero is the man! read more

I have yet to take the ACT after taking the Veritas Prep program, however my teacher Geoff Caveney was so extremely helpful. He was really involved and would always answer each of our questions so well and so in depth that my confidence in the science, math, and reading sections have all improved. Thank you so so much!! read more

It's not like taking the GMAT is something that one looks forward to with enthusiasm, let's face it, most of us do it because it's required. However, Ravi Sreerama's class with Veritas Prep will give you the tools to approach the experience with confidence. I took two prep-courses and also did work on my own. But, things didn't start to click until Ravi's class. Seriously, he's a game changer. The way his mind works, it makes the math portion (my Achilles heal) almost fun! You see the way he approaches problems as if it were a game or a dance. His technique demystifies the GMATs and leaves you well armed for success. Don't struggle, just take his class. He's great, and fully vested in your success. Best of luck! read more

I took an SAT prep course when I was applying to college (not Veritas)-- I enjoyed going to class on a rigorous schedule in the summer, and I liked the structure of tackling a standardized test through courses, and so when the time came for GMAT prep, I looked around for a GMAT prep course to take. What ultimately made me pick Veritas was their overall ratings; their students seem to rave about the classes. It was also a plus that they have trial sessions: you're allowed to go to one class for free to see if it's what you want. Although I can't say what the other GMAT prep courses from other companies are like, I was glad that the class I went for my 'free trial' was Ravi's (it seems like he's been teaching for a while too, as he has no shortage of yelp reviews as can be seen below). He made me decide to go with Veritas for my GMAT prep. Ravi is great -- he's like a tiger dad for your GMAT prep, and reminded me of why I liked the routine of going to prep classes for these tests in the first place. He's constantly pushing his students to be better, and tries to get to know you on an individual level, and I really appreciated that from someone who literally teaches hundreds of students at any single point in time. The classes start usually with teaching, with exercise time in between and some questions at the end. Each class covers an entire Veritas prep book, which sounds quite daunting but isn't really that bad (you're expected to go through some material yourself, too). The courses are not cheap, which is the downside (I guess I can't blame them-- the market price seems to be going for that price). If you're set on Veritas, google around for promo codes! They're pretty good about that. Also, any one who's taken a course should also have friend referrals codes to give out for a discount to friends. read more

I signed up for Veritas Prep GMAT online course at the last second due to hectic work schedule. Each course is 3 hours long. It is a knowledge packed and very focused 3-hour session, not a minute is wasted. In the live online classroom, my classmates are from all over the world and across the country. Though online, it is no less engrossing and captivating than my other in person classes (which I took else where). In fact, the teacher (Chris Kane) and the teacher's assistant (Brandon P.) kept me awake despite my long hours of overwork and sleep depravation. The subjects are definitely fascinating. The classes offered so much insight and tips on preparing for the exam. Most of all, short cuts and tips on getting to the core of the GMAT questions, which made the exam so much less intimidating. In fact, the classes made the learning fun and fascinating for me. The intense 3-hour session block may be energy and time demanding, but I think it also kept the momentum going. That being said, it does still require practice. And for someone who is rusty with math and verbal, practice is the key. The class environment is absolutely always encouraging, positive and engaging. Once signed up, Veritas ship you this box of study guides, which are companion to the class. Compare these study guides and other guides, one can say not much different. In addition, to the online class and the study guides, I also downloaded the Veritas GMAT APP to iPhone to watch the videos and take the practice exams during my spare time. The biggest challenge, as I learned, is not lack of knowledge but lack of time and energy. Time to study and practice. And lack of sleep due to working overtime does eat away one's ability to focus. The teacher would remind everyone the importance of practice and a good night sleep. As a person who has taken numerous exams and gone to a number of test prep seminars, I found the classes given by Veritas to be the best. Though many may consider its price tag to be steep, but I found it to be well worth the investment. If any advice to offer, I would recommend that you take this test prep class with allocated time in mind. Does require time for practicing, and make sure that you are well rested in between these classes. The classes at Veritas made it easier for me to tackle the GMAT constructively and productively. read more

I did not think that an online class would be very effective, but I liked it even more than a traditional class. My professor, Geoffrey Caveney ,was very patient and attentive and explained as many times as I needed. He constantly reassured us that if we had any doubts to ask; you could tell that he really cared and wanted us to succeed. My SAT score improved a lot. read more

I work full time like most people preparing for their MBA and travel all over the state to visit my different accounts. Studying for the GMAT was extremely hard for me to fit in. I had an amazing experience with Veritas Prep in multiple ways. The schedules worked great especially while I was traveling (the online instructor lead classes). I struggled with the quantitative section of the GMAT when I took my practice test and books by themselves just weren't cutting it. I took the full in person 7 week classes and learned so much!! They helped me change the way I thought about the problems because believe me I don't think that way! After taking the first full round I was still a little iffy on my math skills. I spoke with Jenny Tang multiple times and she made sure I had everything I needed to feel confident to take the test. Anywhere from other recorded sessions from different instructors to sitting in on the same classes if that was what I needed. She made an embarrassing situation (not understanding) into an amazing customer experience! I had David Newland for the live online and he made sure to explain things in at least a few different ways so everyone understood. He made class fun with his humor and I learned a lot. I also had Jack Dais when I did it in person, equally as good!!! read more

I took a 6 week classroom course with Ryan McGorman. I can not recommend this course highly enough. My score improved by 110 points! (this is based on a gmac practice test week 1 and the official exam week 7). The Veritas course materials break down the immense amount of information into realistic problem sets. Each class session builds on the last. It is vital not to miss a class. The practice tests and additional resources offered on the Veritas site helped in my GMAT prep and in my MBA planning. The practice tests seemed to accurately reflect the actual exam. My instructor, Ryan, was genuinely interested in our success. He encouraged class participation, so we understood the concepts more deeply. He was positive and created an encouraging environment. read more

Beau was an invaluable resource during the college application process, both with SAT prep and essay writing. Even with a 16 hour time difference, he was able to accommodate my busy schedule with Skype sessions on the weekends. Although expensive, I would highly recommend Beau and Veritas prep! read more

It is true...it is as good as it gets with Beau Borrero from Veritas Prep. With our son's very busy, hectic schedule, Beau was able to meet with our son via Skype. At first, I was worried that Skype would not work, but it actually turned out to be the perfect set up as our son could schedule times around school and outside activities...nights, weekends, etc. Beau was very flexible with his time and was always there when needed. Beau not only improved our son's SAT scores, he provided extremely helpful guidance with the college applications, and with the "final" college decision. Probably the trait we most value about Beau was his ability to motivate our son, and he also made it a priority to really learn about our son's passions and interests. Beau was always upbeat, encouraging, honest, enthusiastic, and professional. Our son immediately bonded with Beau and didn't want to work with anyone else. The two of them had very engaging conversations on books, films, and theatre. Beau became part of our family. We put our trust in him and are extremely happy with the outcome...UC Berkeley. We actually felt sad when our son no longer was working with Beau, as he had become part of our family via Skype. read more

I did a lot of searching for the best test prep tutors for my son's ACT test, and I concluded that Veritas Prep seemed the best fit. And there are tons out there, I know. Amanda did an absolutely TERRIFIC job with my son. The personal touch and communication really makes a difference. We were both overwhelmed when we began thinking about test prep but Amanda put together an awesome study schedule and worked one-on-one with my son online. He said it was invaluable. How valuable was Veritas Prep and Amanda? When we went into the test I was hoping for a 30 but expecting a 29 for my son's first test. With her help he scored a 33. After getting those results they went back and refined his approach on some areas. His second score: 35. I honestly don't believe that would have occurred had he just walked in and taken the test, or simply worked from the Red Book on his own. Veritas Prep was worth every penny for that sort of result. And I'll say, my son was nervous as heck about the idea of working with a tutor online. She was absolutely awesome. He really looked forward to talking to her and going over his "problem areas". We both have nothing but good things to say about our experience. read more

Beau was more than a great tutor; he was a friend. Not only did he skyrocket my sat score, but he helped me open up as a person and expand my horizons. I hope to keep the connection I have with Beau for the years to come. read more

Veritas was the BEST DECISION I had made in helping me prepare for the GMAT. At first I hadn't really heard of them so I made sure I did my research by previewing them and a couple others like Manhattan GMAT and Princeton Review. But after attending the first class of each there was no comparison, Veritas was much more thorough with the material and really took the time to teach the basics. My instructor, Brian, always went above and beyond to make sure I understood all the concepts by staying late or helping me out during the breaks. I would recommend the Veritas Full Course GMAT prep to anyone looking to boost their score. I was so pleased I ended up signing up for their admissions consulting as well! read more

I decided to take Ravi's GMAT prep course through Veritas after reading great reviews online. I had many courses to chose from and I felt that this was the best one more me. The course was twice a week and we covered all the material necessary in the short amount of time. I want to give Ravi full credit for this course. He made efficient use of the class time and made sure that all topics were covered clearly. Even though I reviewed the material prior to coming into class, I felt that just hearing the strategies from Ravi (which differed sometimes from the book) was vital to my success. Overall, he was very energized during the course (which was at night). If you're studying for the GMAT, then you should definitely consider Veritas and Ravi. read more

After I took the GMAT and realized I needed guided improvement, I did some research and decided that Veritas's course with instructor, Ravi Sreerama, would be the best choice. Now finished with the course, I must say that my expectations were matched, if not surpassed. Being extremely smart, yet knowing how to adapt his explanations to our levels, Ravi taught us the "ins and outs" of the GMAT in a wholesome, simplistic manner. Most importantly, he emphasized how we should leverage answer choices - many times demonstrating how the answers could be found within a minute just through thinking like the test maker. Applying these techniques to practice questions in class and at home, I was happy to see how effective they were in choosing the correct answer. In addition, Ravi encouraged us to go beyond our comfort levels in order to prepare us for the time rigors of test day. For example, he stressed doing mental math whenever possible and solving algebraic equations with only one step. And his constant encouragement that we all have the capability to score in the 99th percentile also helped my confidence level. Although I have not yet retaken the actual GMAT, my score has jumped 100 points on my most recent practice test. Even at work, my boss noticed that I was processing tasks more quickly than usual and I answered that my stronger work performance had to do with the class I was taking. So, based on my experience, I would HIGHLY recommend the Veritas course with Ravi to people looking to invest in their GMAT scores and future careers. read more

Veritas Prep Program helped me improved my test scores. I have taken the online course for both the SAT and ACT with the same teacher Geoff Caveney who was an excellent teacher. He helped me and the rest of the students doing the course with any questions we had at any time and explained it until we understood it. After finishing both courses I definitely feel more confident with the test and well prepared. read more

The Veritas Course was really good. The customer service is great too. I only took the Verbal part of it but they let me sit for one of the math class as I was weak in that topic. The practice questions are really good and are similar to the Official Guide. It comes with lots of practice test as well. I liked the Arco Thomson in particular. The course really focuses on the fundamentals. I really liked the course and would recommend to anyone who wants to do well in GMAT. read more

I love Veritas! It's the best. It is the most expensive program but that's because it's the best. My teacher Matt Douglas does the Pasadena, CA, class. He was fun and easy to learn from. Matt is a hippie, super savant. He was very funny and super helpful and easy to approach. He really great teacher! He's kinda like a math super genius. He reads thick history of calculus books for fun, that's kinda cool :) The program is very flexible to your schedule and needs. I had to make a modification because of travel and they worked to help me out. Jenny in the office was great and helpful too when I had concerns. They ususally return emails very quickly too. I love everything about the program. Material is great. Class size was very small and personalbe. You can take the class twice in one year which is great. I had to travel half way through the class schedule, so I will take it all over again next month. The referral program is really good. So if you want to take it, look me up on facebook tmh246@yahoo.com (don't email this address) or TheLDSHammer and I can refer you. That way, we both get gift certificates. I looked into all the programs and Veritas was the best. Veritas teaches you how to save time on the test. The GMAT is made to trick you. Veritas teaches you little tricks to get around the tricks the testmasters think they are getting away with. For example, on a averages math question. You don't have to do the math. You can many times look at the answer choices and there will be one that makes sense while the other ways are off. You can save a couple minutes just on that. read more

I worked with Beau Borrero to improve my SAT score and submit outstanding college applications. Not only did Beau help me to improve my SAT score by 270 points, achieving 700+ in every section (before I learned about Veritas Prep, I had taken the SAT 3 times, and gotten the same exact score each time), but also when it was time to apply to colleges, he worked with me day and night to produce beautiful essays and applications for every college on my list (8 in all). I am so fortunate to have found this company, and even more so to have found Beau, who is truly amazing at what he does. read more
