If you're thinking about taking a class here - DO IT!! I just can't say enough good things about my experience here - From the break room to the staff and teachers - top notch! Drastically improved my skills - worth every penny! Last month I took the Adobe Premiere Pro Bootcamp with Kristian Gabriel - AMAZING CLASS! Highly recommend if you're doing any work in Premiere Pro - and Kristian even touches a little on Photoshop, After Effects & Illustrator too. The bootcamp definitely kicked my video editing skills up several notches! I wish I had taken the class much sooner haha! That being said, I'm glad I had already worked with Premiere Pro bc the bootcamp made a lot more sense. The software can be complicated, especially if you're just starting out, and the bootcamp moves fast...so it can be hard to keep up. BUT Training Connection gives you one free repeat!! You can come back and take the same class again once more - how awesome is that?? Kristian is an absolutely FANTASTIC teacher!! He's professional, passionate, extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and caring - his expertise is impressive! He knows Adobe inside and out. I would happily take any of his classes again and definitely plan to take the After Effects and Illustrator classes in the future. The building is great also - the suite is sleek and always clean. They have high tech equipment in the classrooms - all their computers are fast Apples. Even the break room has a very fancy coffee machine offering all sorts of lattes and such. And all the rooms have lovely views of DTLA. Very nice facility. The prices for their classes are extremely reasonable considering the value of the lectures and the fact that they let you do one free retake. There are tons of eateries and cafes and food courts nearby so lunch is fun everyday! You can park in their underground lot but it's expensive at $35 a day. However, there's lots of security and it felt very safe, clean and convenient. I took the metro gold line the first two days and actually got urinated on by a vagrant the second morning - so I didn't hesitate to pay for parking after that lol. I took the Business Leadership class, and it was excellent. I am so glad I did. I have been a supervisor for the past two years and after this class I have a new perspective on my position, and it will help me going forward. Location - Top suite at the Bank of the West Tower on Wilshire. Parking - I paid $35 to park in the building itself, but I'm sure you can find a lot cheaper in the surrounding lots. It is Downtown, but I opt for convenience. Atmosphere - It's a very clean, sleek facility. All the rooms are super bright since a lot of natural light comes shines from the glass-pane windows. There's a lounge area that's perfect to utilize during break times because it overlooks the Downtown overpasses. Yes, I said break time(s). They give you several plus a 1 hour lunch. Plus there is complimentary snacks, tea, and coffee!! Each classroom has about 12 Mac stations set up. I really liked how they weren't too overly crowded or big because it made it easier to interact with the instructor and ask questions. Experience - I took the Excel Advanced Workshop with Chris. He was such an amazing teacher! He made the 7 hours go by super quickly. The pace was just right for me. I really enjoyed how interesting and engaging he made the class, with his quirky jokes and incorporation of real-life scenarios. Once the class is finished, you are even given a booklet of the material and a certificate of completion. This way you can practice and never forget what you learned. The excel class was a top notch -- I'd recommend it to ANYONE interested in improving their Excel skills. I took three days of class, and this immersion helped me gain new knowledge and fill in the holes in my existing knowledge. Walking away I have the confidence to create or understand any spreadsheet. I first want to say my training was awesome and great!! Carol, my instructor was a perfect teacher. The facility was very easy to find, and the parking for 8 hours was about $30 flat so be prepared to pay that if you park in the garage. Also eating restaurants are everywhere, so you shouldn't have any problem finding some good yummy food. My Instructor was Carol and she was so smart and classy and a lot of fun!!! The class started promptly at 8am and before the class began, I was greeted by a guy in the front who showed me where the drinks and fancy coffee was as well as the snacks. He was beyond nice too. Before I forget, the bathrooms were really nice and I know this is strange, but the bathrooms smelled good and the bathroom was clean. Carol introduced herself and told us a little bit about herself. The way she taught Excel was great because she started with the history of excel and how and why it was generated and used back in the day. It was a good history lesson for sure. Carol also told us that excel wasn't used with a mouse at all so she taught the class all the secret tricks of how to use excel without a mouse! It was great. I attended the Access Advanced course with Chris as part of a work assignment. Instructor: Chris was an amazing instructor. He took the time to ask students what we would be using Access for and then as he was teaching, he brought up examples of how we could apply each method in our specific workplace. Throughout the course, Chris made sure to check in so that no one was left behind or confused. At the end he allowed us to ask questions and review anything we wanted to go into. The course was never boring and he made it easy to follow along. It was about 6 hours long but the time flew by thanks to Chris. Course: Access Advanced course was very helpful! I am a self taught Access user and although I know a lot of the basics, I can see why its so important to attend a class if you are managing a database. This course teaches you how to use Access in an efficient and organized manner that you may not learn if you are self taught. Facility: The Training Connection office is very clean and spacious. They have a break room with a fridge, tables, snacks, and The Best Coffee Station ever! This coffee machine can make custom espresso, cappuccino, regular coffee, and hot coco. The location is great because its walking distance from several restaurants. You can take our lunch and store it in the fridge or you can walk to a nearby restaurants. There are several classrooms filled with Mac Desktops for students and a projector for the instructor. I took a couple courses here for excel. They have other Microsoft office courses and development courses (javascript, php, etc.) as well. Parking - If you get in before 9:30am, you only pay a flat rate of $10 in the parking structure. Each course comes with a student manual (outlining and detailing the course), a notebook, individual mac computers (programmed for windows or mac user interfaces), and unlimited supply of starbucks freshly brewed coffee or tea. After the completion of the course, you receive a completion certificate, 2 free movie tickets (lol), and the ability to retake the course as many times as you want within 6 months. You can also get a guaranteed full refund if you realize you don't like the course - just leave by lunch time for single day courses. Overall, I would say that the course is very structured, the instructor is very friendly and thorough with course material. I am definitely excited to take more classes! I took the Microsoft Outlook course here with Carol Spear, who is a superb instructor. She was deeply knowledgeable and engaging when it came to the material. Carol was also hilariously witty and we had a great time in her class. I would definitely recommend a class with Carol if given the opportunity! The office is clean and kept in pristine condition and the staff is generally helpful and friendly. The building is conveniently located about a block and a half away from the Fig/7th stop on the Metro's Red Line. Kristian is a great instructor-easy to learn from, talk to and is super patient with somebody like me who had no previous background with Illustrator. Attended this course with my co-workers and found it to be extremely helpful! We all had a familiarity With excel and knew how to maneuver, but the intermediate course took us all up another level. The course is all day with a couple breaks and lunch, however goes by quickly. Billy was great in asking us what our take away would be and focused on those subject plus addition items that would be useful in out jobs. Getting there: I came from the commerce area so it only took about 35 minutes. That LA traffic is no joke though, so if coming from any further I would suggest to leave as early as possible and hang out in the lunch area if you are a little early. Parking in the structure will cost you $22 for the day. There is other parking down the street between $10-$15. The Metro station is a couple blocks away and probably a better option if you're coming from a LA suburb. Being there: Chris was great! The class was a little slow for me, but I was already pretty knowledgeable so I kind of expected that. The excel course definitely validated what I was already doing and refreshed my memory on a lot of things as well. There is a fridge and microwave available for use in the break room as well as coffee/tea/water. There's also plenty of places to eat within a couple of blocks of this place- pizza, sandwiches, poke, salads, coffee shops, etc. I felt like we had enough breaks to use the bathroom and get more coffee/water from the break room. Leaving: You get a cute little certificate as proof to your employer that you went to the class instead of playing hooky. They also give you a book if you want to go home and practice what you learned (or to leave at work if you get stuck). I attended a Microsoft Project trading course over two days. Going in I knew a little about MS Project but this class was invaluable. I learned so much in the two days I was there. The instructors were both great. They encouraged questions and had all the answers. Working on a practice project really made it easy to learn and figure out shortcuts. They use really nice Mac computers running windows. The office the classes are in are very nice and it is in a great (although busy) part of Downtown LA. Lots of good places to eat nearby. Parking can be tough and or expensive but that is par for the course in DTLA. If you need any computer training (Excel, Word, PowerPoint ect) I highly recommend Training Connection. read more

I'm only giving it 4 stars because my drive there was 2 hours long. This was a great find, the staff were friendly and the location (other than being a bit far from me) was great. You're right smack in the heart of LA, walking distance to Figat7th where there are a ton of shops and eateries. Great views, great facility with a sophisticated coffee machine. Obviously, wifi, so I was able to fit in some work before class while enjoying the view overlooking the 101. More importantly, the class. Our instructor was great and very knowledgeable, and didn't shy away from providing a bit of background on why Adobe is what it is today. I was in the class for one day rather than the 3-day class they recommend, but I learned a ton of new stuff. Shortcuts, setup, etc. After looking around for a bit, this was the only local(ish) place I could find that offered this kind of training. I can't wait to attend the intermediate excel class this month. I am usually self-taught with programs at work but since I do forms using Acrobat I decided to take the course at Training Connection to better my knowledge of the new Adobe Acrobat DC Pro. It is very user friendly when making forms but is capable of much more. The look of the program has changed dramatically. You'll be surprised. I found the curriculum with Training Connection was what I wanted after looking online. Jeff is the manager as well as an instructor at the location of my class. He is very warm and welcoming. There was a tiny glitch with my scheduled class but he was very accommodating with the changes. Beverly was assigned as my instructor and let me tell you, she is a super teacher. She has a depth of knowledge for the software and tailored the class to my needs. She is very patient, thorough and engaging. Her teaching style made it easy to learn many new things and I was very comfortable asking questions. She was extremely clear and very easy to follow when using sample lessons. The facility is very clean and there is a great view from the break room. I love the coffee machine since it is able to do other coffee type drinks. They provide a fridge and a microwave should you bring from home to eat. There are a variety of classrooms equipped with Mac computers. Outstanding class! Chris was such a wonderful instructor, going over over everything that I went into the class curious about. It was so helpful that he started the class by asking each person individually what they hoped to get out of it. Most people said the same thing (pivot tables) so we spent a lot of time working with those. There were lots of basic skills that were brought back and we learned a bunch of shortcuts as well. The center itself is very clean and welcoming. We had a sufficient amount of breaks (but not too many) and I think everyone left the class knowing they had more knowledge than what they came in with. This class actually made me feel like I could go back to school, and I have never had that thought since I graduated from college. read more

This is my first Excel course that I take and I have to say I was impressed, not only by the instructor, but by the installations as well. Computers are all apple (which I love), everything is clean and modern. Our instructor, Chris, was AMAZING. So knowledgeable and so willing to share that knowledge in a way that was easy for us to understand. Excel can get pretty complicated quickly and Chris managed to guide us through smoothly so at the end of the day we all got a lot of tips and tricks from the course. I have signed up for another excel class and will definitely sign up for power point and word in the future. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly person who checked me in and asked me to help myself to coffee or other refreshments. There were also snacks and a stellar view. Terrific experience with Training Connection. I took the advanced days of InDesign on a MAC with Beverly. She is an excellent instructor who knows everything there is to know about Adobe products. I found the information easy to follow and immediately applicable to the projects I work on. This class was above and beyond what I expected. I don't know much about parking, as I walked from my downtown office, but they do have a cafe area with seating and free coffee/tea. Not only did I learn various forms of communication but I also learned little tricks on listening, basic e-mail communication, proper hand shakes, thank you notes, validating, eliminating lazy language, and so much more. I am surprised that the Training Connection has not been reviewed already but here goes. I work in the training department of my company and we are looking to create our own learning modules that can be delivered remotely to our employees. Our company decided that using Adobe Flash and Captivate would be the best way to accomplish this so they sent me to learn the programs. I have used this company twice now to learn both Adobe Captivate 4 and Flash Player CS5. In both of my instructors were very knowledgeable and managed to cover a lot of information in a short period of time. The manuals included in the course are excellent reference tools and I use them quite often when creating presentations and modules. The location is easy to get to and some of the perks are, the coffee machine which makes Starbucks coffee, the free movie tickets after finishing the course, and you can retake any course within the first six months of completion. The only downside is, they are not able to validate parking and you have to pay for parking at a different level then where the gate is which can be kind of a hassle yet this is something the company does not control so no points lost on their part. I would recommend this company for anyone who wants to learn a program quickly and gain a basic knowledge of how it works. read more

I took an Adobe Captivate class from Training Connection recently, with Chris as the instructor. This was a 2 day class at a beginning level. I really learned a lot. I had no background at all using this program and this class covered all the basics, walking us through multiple functions and allowing hands-on experience. Chris knew the program pretty well although Jeff was supposed to teach the class originally (but was sick). I'm looking into whether a more advanced class might be available, since we need to do a few things with the program that don't appear to be part of their default setup. The facility is nice with multiple classrooms and a nice lunch/break area. Their coffee machine is awesome. There are plenty of nearby places to get lunch or dinner as well. We stayed in a hotel nearby rather than trying to commute to downtown Los Angeles from Orange County, and that worked out well. read more

I found the class set-up, small and intimate (12 max) to be a great learning environment allowing instructor to easily have one-on-one communication with each student. The course content was very detailed and easy to follow. The Instructor was very knowledgeable and a great resource. The Lobby Lounge area located on the 18th floor of the building was nicely set-up with ample seating for networking or just relaxing during breaks. Lounge area included Coffee & Water station along with standard refrigerator and microwave. The location of the building where Training Connection is located was easily accessible by public transportation - save the money and take the train or the bus and save the $35 for parking. Also, bringing your lunch is a great option since closest lunch spots are 1-2 blocks walking. I would highly recommended this vendor for training needs. read more

I have been trying to teach myself Javascript for a while now but I have been getting stuck and discouraged a lot. I have been trying many other on-line ways but I have not made much progress. I took the Javascript one week bootcamp and I found it extremely helpful. Jeff was a great instructor. Very patient and Knowledgeable. He had a great way of explaining things. Small class size and you can choose between mac and pc. School is in the middle of downtown and really easy to take a train there from most places. I plan to also take their PHP class.
