I called a few weeks after the fillings to complain about the sensitivities and was told that I should wait bc it can take up to six months for the sensitivity to go away. I've never heard this before from a dentist and had my doubts but gave it a few more weeks and still had sensitivities. I called back again and scheduled my second appointment...which was about 3-4 months after my initial visit. On my second visit, I went back to get both fillings fixed but found out that one filling could be fixed but that the other tooth was going to need a crown. At this point, Im obviously very unhappy that I had to go through months of pain and sit through getting a filling done for no reason since a crown was actually needed but they had already started the work and submitted claims to insurance so I just went forward with them. BAD MOVE! I get the filling re-done and a mold for the crown made. On my third visit, I go in for the crown to get installed and the crown was not made properly (whatever that means) so they take another mold and send it out for a new crown. On my fourth visit, I go in and finally had the crown installed. After a day or so, I notice my bite is not aligned properly so the tooth with the crown they just put in is now hitting way before any of the other teeth. Time to go back AGAIN. On my fifth visit, they finally get my bite feeling ok (not great). Within a day or two of that fifth visit, I'm contacted by the office manager (I think) asking for payment. I had to go in so many times because of their poor work that I wanted to make sure I wasn't being over billed so I asked for a copy of my bills for the services. I was shocked when the woman sent me a picture of her PC screen with the file open for my account! When I questioned the amount owed and asked for proper documentation because the amount she was telling me was double what my insurance company said I had pending, she told me that I was already getting a huge discount (that I didn't ask for or was aware of) and that they didn't even take my insurance but made a mistake with me so I shouldn't be complaining (they are listed on my insurance website as a provider and I confirmed via phone with my insurance that they are in-network). The woman threatened to get a collections agency after me if I didn't pay in full by end of week so I got my insurance company involved. Once the woman spoke to my insurance company, the office manager agreed that the balance owed was in fact what was stated on my insurance company's website so I paid it off and will NEVER GO BACK. STAY AWAY!!

Minutes after I sat down the tech put a mouth guard on me and started the procedure without explaining what was going to exactly happen in the next 45 minutes or what side effects to expect. 20 minutes into the procedure I started feeling sensitivity, which increased to almost unbearable levels. 40 minutes into it I was ready to pull the UV machine out of my mouth because my gums and teeth hurt. I was given peridex which stained my veneers three shades darker by the end of the week. Three dentists in NYC confirmed I should never have been given Peridex on porcelain veneers and that there was no issue with the gums or placement of veneers to begin with. There is no way to fix the damage done unless I want to redo the entire thing which is risky and costly. On top of this I spent over 2k getting second opinions as Dr Chaviano told me I would most likely have multiple issues from the veneers placed. All three NY doctors confirmed that was not true. It was distressing, time consuming, and a loss of money to go on a wild goose chase just to realize there was nothing wrong my veneers in the first place. As much as Id love to forget about the experience Im reminded of it every time I look in the mirror and see my damaged veneers. All in all anything cosmetic related Id go elsewhere as I was told "aesthetics are less important than health" when there was nothing health wise wrong with my teeth to begin with.
