My ceremony was at the nearby O'Neal Plaza, I will do a seperate review for that experience. When I looked at this venue, one of the first things that I did was to pay attention to capacity. I knew that we were going to end up with a LOT of folks considering that we both have huge families and lots of friends, and we tend to be more inclusive than that turn folks away who wanted to have a great time. Great, the brochure says that this venue can accomodate 250 folks in a sit down style reception, 300+ if it is a theatre style, we should be fine... right? Hmm... after several months and visits to look at the site... wrong! Well, there is another side room to move the food, maybe we can put teenagers over in that room to make a little more space and we'll be good. Crisis averted, but I strongly caution that if you need this large space for full functionaltiy, that you make sure that you don't just read the literature that they provide. I went to visit this facility several times over the course of the months leading up to the wedding. I would see some people prepping days prior to their event if they needed to. But, I was repeatedly told (even in seeing others setting up for their events early) that I could not enter the facilty until the day of the event since someone else was having an event the day before. I asked if it were possible that I come in after they finished, no. I asked if we could pay to come earlier that morning, no. Emphatically no, it was impossible, could not do it. We happened to be at the facility the day before the wedding for rehearsal on the outdoors. The couple who had the facility had their wedding ceremony at the venue the day before us and had no intention of staying in the venue that entire night. So... we COULD HAVE set up early instead of getting it all in that morning? Thanks for your help... All in all, I enjoyed this venue for my reception. I suppose that there are going to be problems wherever you go. If I had it to do all over again, after reading my review on the outdoor O'Neal Plaza... my answer is yes, I'd pick another place.

We had our wedding ceremony in a section of the ballroom and our reception right next door with the half of the ballroom. We had about 100 guest who fit comfortably on both sides. Jennifer and her crew were very accommodating and welcoming and I have nothing but great things to say about them. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we weren't able to pick our own caterer or even from a list of caterers. The center works exclusively with Proof of the Pudding(who are also good and food was very tasty) but I would have liked to be able to be given more than one option in caterers. Speaking from someone who was on a super tight budget, the caterer can make a huge difference.

My husband and I attended the wedding of our friend's daughter a couple weekends ago, as well as stayed as guests in one of their suites, and I have to say I was blown away - not only by the venue but also the service! This is a 100+ year old mansion that has been beautifully renovated while at the same time keeping the authenticity of the mansion. This was a perfect place for the wedding - it was beautifully decorated and was intentionally designed with backgrounds that were perfect for pictures resulting in long-lasting memories. Our room was very quaint and large and the beds were very comfortable! And anytime we needed anything during our stay, the staff got back to us immediately and were very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend the Stanley House Inn for any formal occasions or just a weekend getaway because it's right in the Marietta Square which is full of great restaurants, shopping or entertainment!

Even though online booking wouldn't let me book all my dates together in a single booking, I was able to sort it out with the receptionist to stay in the same room rather than having to switch. The only caveat was that I needed to come back to the desk in the morning for them to check me out and in and re-initiate my room key. The buffet breakfast here is nicer than some other breakfast buffets I've had. There is a variety of hot foods like scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and sausages. There's cereal, oatmeal, milk, yogurt, breakfast pastries (bagels, bread, muffins, scones), and some fresh fruit. Our room was comfortable. No complaints there. For any toiletries you might have forgotten, you can ask for complimentary ones at the front desk. A nice option to stay at if you are in town and need accommodations for your stay!

The breakfast was good and had an assortment of hot items. I enjoyed the oatmeal bar and the scrambled eggs. The one negative - The loudness and rudeness of people in the next room at 2 am. It was so bad that I was tempted to ask to switch rooms, but I knew if I did that I would never go to sleep!

I asked one of the attendees about coffee and food - he said, "breakfast ends at 9:30." I asked why they stopped stocking the food at 9:00...he walked away, no apologies, no answer. Again we, and all these other people paid a ton to sleep in a bed, with breakfast, only to leave the hotel and pay for breakfast too. Garbage everywhere, and this same person couldn't be bothered to put his cell phone down to answer.

There were so many plastic water bottles, glass beer bottles, beer cans and broken plastic cups all over the ground at 2am; walking through it all to get to the parking lot was definitely a hazard! You simply must visit Bruster's Real Ice Cream during your stay--it will put a smile on your face! At check-out, the person at the desk was apparently having a bad day, and I tried to cheer her up to no avail. I felt bad for her. I hope her day got better.
