Tanyard Creek Overlook

Tanyard Creek Overlook

Tanyard Creek Overlook, also called the Acworth Community Center, opened within the past year…read more(2023). Adjacent to Logan Farm Park, it's a combination event center and community center. The place has a large ballroom that can probably host up to 400 or so; as with most ballrooms, it has dividers to make the room smaller. While it's not particularly opulent, it's clean and neat. It has a business feel with just a touch of nostalgia; one wall of the ballroom is brick with old warehouse-style arch ceilings. The bathrooms adjacent to the ballroom are nice but a bit small; the men's room has three urinals and two toilet stalls, so there is some wait if you have a large group. Kitchen services are available. There is also a large gym and some adjoining classrooms; the community center hosts day camps here. It's a nice facility without being particularly grandiose; some of the walls are cement block, some the usual gypsom drywall. There are open gym hours. There is some parking, though if you have a large group, the lot may fill up. There is more parking within easy walking distance, though. The staff are very helpful and on top of it. I accidentally wandered into an area where they were hosting a children's day camp, and they were on my like white on rice; I was quickly but courteously (but firmly) escorted elsewhere, so it's good that they're serious about protecting kids. All in all, it's a good facility. It's not a fairy tale come true, but I imagine it's economical, and it's a good public space with friendly folks. A good addition to the community.

Lake Allatoona Inn - The Majors Cabin

Lake Allatoona Inn

We stayed in Gen. Corse's Suite which had a super comfortable king size bed, a giant jacuzzi garden tub, heated bathroom tile floor, television, and more. There were so many thoughtful touches, like handcut flowers in a vase, a personalized note from the owner greeting us with our keys, corkscrew, ice bucket, and wine glasses. We had the privilege of speaking with Lynn, the owner, and she was so helpful and friendly. The inn was clean and beautifully decorated. Everything is within convenient driving distance. We will definitely visit again!

The location canNOT be beat - right across from the lake with great access to hiking trails and fishing holes. Even just walking and "setting" along the dam was so nice and breezy. Porch setting with a great view of the lake was relaxing. The beds are comfortable (if a bit high for this 5'3" short-legged lady) and the homemade quiche for breakfast was super creamy, with some berries for extra fiber. The owners served breakfast and though did *NOT* REQUIRE masks for Covid protection, they did wear masks and also showed off their extra-disinfectant machine and other anti-Covid preparations that they were taking. VERY affordable for us ~ $130+taxes and fees for 1 Friday night during Covid, I'm not sure if that was a lower price due to quarantine but it was a definite value from our perspective. I highly recommend this stop to people who want to spend time in Cartersville or at Lake Allatoona or are just passing through and want a non-hotel experience - you will love it!!

But the best part was it was one stop shopping. Joanne helped her plan everything - DJ, florist, cake, signage, bar... you name it, she provided and she was very fair with her pricing. She made my sister feel special and removed the anxiety she was feeling from planning from a distance. The day of the reception Kandise and Grace stepped right in to make sure all our needs were met. Everything was perfect and people couldn't stop talking about how nice the venue was. They really planned everything for her and kept the evening moving. The food was yummy and the cake was amazing. Thank you for a job well done. It was worth every penny ... champagne toasts. Bubbles and sparklers !

Virtually a one stop shop - Stress reducer for sure!…read more Upon meeting with Joanne for our tour, we fell in love with the facility. They do a great job of helping you set expectations, and they handle basically everything except for a photographer and your favors. They are incredibly kind. Being a same sex couple we did not know what to expect. The Conservatory did an amazing job of treating us like everyone else, even going as far as editing their forms to groom/groom. We were treated like any other opposite sex couple and to us, that meant more than anything. They are clear and concise in what is included, what it will cost and there are NO surprises at the end. They made our day special. We were not rushed the day of, and the coordinators took special care of my husband and I as well as our family. If you're going in not sure what to expect, or if you know exactly what you want, the people here are amazing. They also provide the catering, and the food was top notch. The service provided was excellent. They sent us with lovely to go boxes of food, and a bottle of the delicious champagne from our toast.

There's nothing they didn't do- Rose Hall ladies Amanda and Megan, wedding coordinators. They didn't skip a beat and my son had the best day of his life because of them! They were very attentive to the bride and groom, the parties and the family. You never had to wonder where they were to ask for something because they stayed close. This was our fourth child's wedding and this was by far the one the least stressful. This venue is so beautiful. Looks like those old homes in Savannah Georgia is what it reminded me of. Food was good! Cake was delicious!! Oh and the chicken buffalo dip was my favorite! Sweet Carley did a great job serving drinks! She served with a smile. The DJ was awesome as well. Brennan? Had the folks on the dance floor cutting a rug! It's was such a great day. Thank yall again. Lisa we just love your venue!

The space is gorgeous and oh so charming!…read more I attended a wedding here this past weekend and was very pleasantly surprised.. I feel like I haven't seen anything like this up in Jersey. Plenty of parking... outside wedding ... thank God for no rain.. birds were the background soundtrack to this day, which was wonderful. I like how you can walk right from the ceremony to the lower covered section for the reception. Since it was summer in GA, the huge fans helped with that thick heat. The only thing is... some of the attendants were not giving that Southern charm that I was expecting. Not even cracking a smile... the bartenders were friendly enough... but even their warmth couldn't make up for the disappointment of having only beer and wine as options (LOL). Food was decent, nothing to write home about.. except those wonderfully sweet yeast rolls and some of the best shrimp cocktail I've ever eaten. Yassss! The ambiance at Rose Hall is right up my alley... was impressed.
