My husband and I come here whenever we have a chocolate craving. We love this place! Everything is delicious, so it's hard to recommend any one item, but the dark chocolate turtles and toffee are my usual go-tos. The store is clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend giving Veni's a visit. read more

Recently when we went to Michigan we tried Veni's on the way home. They have wonderful sweets! The person who helped us recommended the coconut covered chocolate item which is delightful! Their sour candy is also good but was not as sour as I would have wanted. Still it was a wonderful candy. We also got a few other chocolate covered items and their rock candy. I would recommend going there and buying a few sweets and trying! The ambiance of the store is a really cute chocolate shop with many options to choose from. read more

Yes yes yes!!!! This place has been around for quite some time and just walking in will give you a cavity! Lol this chocolates are made in house in the back room unlikes See's or Fannie May's!! I mean the chocolate covered toffee with sea salt is just mouth watering and the chocolate covered candys and truffles and treats are just amazing! This place is a mustttt! Holy mama, I am so glad that I found this sweet shop! Yesterday makes twice we have been here in less than two weeks and my stomach and butt are NOT happy, but I sure am! This place has the best peanut brittle, the best truffles of which they have a pretty big selection of different truffle flavors, they have the best chocolate malted milk balls, the best assorted popcorns, just everything we have tried is amazing! Also, the help is very very nice, so if you go in, please tip them because they go above and beyond for the guests. The prices are pretty steep, but show me a sweet shop that isn't expensive and I'll show you a cow with two left feet. Seriously! If you are downtown Niles, you must go here! Wow - great variety of candies! This is pretty much one of the best places to visit in Niles. The chocolates are still made with PURE CANE SUGAR and when you walk in the doors everything is fresh! Plus, Linda (the owner) and her staff are incredibly nice, they obviously love their jobs! My husband and I have lost over 70lbs, but we always treat ourselves by going to this wonderful place. Excellent establishment. Owner bought it a few years ago from the original founders, and made some upgrades to the space. They make a lot of great chocolates, and even have Man-boxes if you're looking to give your man a box for a special occasion. read more

Go for the smell of it! The old world charm and the sweet smell are gonna pull you in. Once inside, you'd better have plenty of time. Their confectionary selection is amazing and seems to go on forever. I highly recommend a visit. read more

Stopped in late in the day. Shop is very quaint and smelled wonderful. I purchased dark chocolate covered almonds and turtles. The turtles were good, the almonds were FANTASTIC! Very smooth and rich. I'll plan to return next time I'm in Niles! read more

Best confectioner in the world. Veni's in Niles is awesome! I come all the way out here from Chicago to get their unbelievably awesome meltaways. Peanut brittle is the absolute finest I've ever had. Chocolate and walnut covered toffee is another favorite of mine. Carmel apples! The greatest I've ever had. Veni's literally takes the whole confectionary world and flips it over on it's head. NOBODY matches them. The owner, Linda is a very nice person who doesn't sweat the details. They keep a small tray of "oops candy" on the counter for patrons to eat and try for free. Really? Those chocolates were a mistake? Could have fooled me! You HAVE TO TRY VENI'S! If you love candy, especially chocolate this place is for you! Everything here is truly a work of art. A small town confectioner that sets the bar for how all candy SHOULD be made. Do you think I'm exaggerating? Perhaps you think I'm a little crazy? My husband bought me a box of truffles for Valentine's Day. They were of all variety. I ate them all. All 25 of them. I really don't even like chocolate. Best chocolate I've had. They also pair great with dark black coffee. I'll be stopping by soon to pick up something for my family back home in Texas. read more

of course have to try a new candy store when in the area. i loved just walking into the store -it has that old candy store smell, they were making caramel in the back; and also the old fashioned candy cases. got a little of almost everything to give it all a try; and for the most part was not disappointed. tried a sample, it was a coconut dark chocolate; not a cream, but a "mounds" type with real coconut. knew i had to buy some of those. the malt chip, anything with nuts, turtles, the pretzel rod with caramel, chocolate, and pecans $3, were wonderful. nutty caramel corn perfect - appx. $5-7 (can't remember that one). the cream chocolates were a true disappointment. way too creamy and liquid spilling with the first bite. flavors were off and not "real". also tried truffles and i could find no distinction between three of the four different flavors i tied. the only truffle flavor that stood out was the creme brulee which was quite good. will probably return when in the area. about $20 a pound for regular chocolates; $25 a lb for truffles. i did like the chocolate, both dark and milk, that they use. you can tell it isn't cheap imitation- smooth and creamy. they also had caramel, and chocolate apples which looked great, i just don't like mixing food that way and didn't try them. they also gift wrap your box for free! read more
