But I wouldn't recommend traveling by train if you are alone, especially if the travel times are not convenient. I traveled from Tampa to Jacksonville on a Sunday evening. The train arrived about 40 minutes late, and because the station is under construction, everyone was lined up at the platform in Florida heat at that time. Not fun. Not enough seating for everyone at the platform. There are no seat reservations for standard seats on this train. If you are traveling in a group, the porters will make sure you are seated together. But if you are traveling alone, you will be at the mercy of chance, and I lost that gamble during the trip. I spent my journey uncomfortable and stressed out. There is a cafe, but I did not go there. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my work computer at my seat unattended, and I didn't want to have to heft my computer bag and purse all the way to the dining car. Thankfully, I had packed a snack, so that sustained me for the 6+ hour journey. There's wifi, but it was not great, and my phone kept switching to using the 5G. The bathroom was pretty foul. I limited my water consumption to avoid using it, but I could smell it from my seat. We started 40 minutes late, but by the time we got to Jacksonville, we were more than an hour behind schedule. That meant I got to Jacksonville after 11pm, which wasn't great as a single female traveler. My employer is headquartered in Jacksonville, and there's no direct flight from Tampa. But based on my experience, I do not think the train is an option. I will have to drive the next time.

The cheese, grapes and crackers were things I actually buy and put out for apps, so it's nothing fancy. The cocktails were average but tasty. The food wasn't spectacular but it was pretty good. The key lime pie was VERY good! The show, actors, murder mystery and the train ride was truly the best part! They were all really great and it was a lot of fun! I was so excited to get to do this with some friends and they change the show very so often so you could go about every month and do a new one! It's a good ways away for me, but I would definitely do this again!

From the side of the road, you will see a truck dealership and the GPS might lead you only to the school district and Sheriff's Juvenile learning center. The one saving sign was off to a corner with an arrow that guides you to the railway. Inside the station, I was greeted right away by a young lady and the place was was clean. Although it was not very big, there was an assortment of train souvenirs and books on the many types of trains out there. There was stuffed toy animals (like foxes, raccoons,and giraffes) that had a conductor uniform on and those were cute. Lots of Thomas the Steam Engine toys, books, and stickers too. Also, the restrooms in the station are single stall, but was quite clean. The train goes all the way to North Fort Meyers so you will pass through a nature preserve and conservatory. Cell and internet service will be spotty when passing through the area, so be sure your phone is charged. The young lady in the front will remind you twice when you need to be at the platform for the train, so keep an eye on the clock too. If not, you will still hear the train blowing its whistle when it is approaching the station. Choo! Choo!

Everything was well organized, getting passengers with disabilities or those that need extra time, to the platform situated first and then the general boarding.

This stop is also the stop for the Port of Tampa. If you want to avoid the high parking cost of$50 per day for cruise parking and the higher cost of downtown parking in general, park in Ybor and take the trolley! You avoid the jam-packed traffic while experiencing a period in history.

Although this is the stop for the Arena and Hooters, it's also pretty near the mall, the Aquarium,…read morethe Port of Tampa. No sense driving into this area when you can take the fun streetcar. Like all the stations you can get the ticket during your short wait for the next streetcar at the machine with your credit card or cash. The all day pass only works on the streetcar so it's worth it but if you're going to be around a few days without a car, get the three day combined bus and streetcar pass and make use of it.

We jumped off at Centennial Park to poke around the shops and eateries. The streetcar was very clean with everything in perfect condition. The drivers are very polite. You can easily see that safety is their biggest concern. Don't try and distract them while they are driving because they have to stay completely focused. Pedestrians were continuously stepping out in front of the tracks to cross the road. The trolley stops running at 2am and is free.
