If you like eclectic, this is the hotel for you. Absolutely phenomenal staff. Room are a slight bit dated, but hey, it's a hundred year hotel. Rooftop deck has a great view of the beach and ocean. Lots of things to do within walking distance. Only negative is no.on site parking.

Very cool place to stay when you're visiting Venice beach. The place has tons of history. We arrived at night and we parked in an alley so we can check in and we saw some interesting things. I was a little hesitant about staying but once we were inside, we fell in love with the building. Our room had a brick wall which was cool! There's no AC but a fan is provided. The bathroom is pretty small but it will do! The rooftop has an amazing view of Venice beach. It was pretty relaxing! You can send postcards to your friends, family, or even to yourself from the hotel. They provide towels, beach gear, and toys. The only thing we had an issue with was the parking. The parking is down the alleyway. We paid for it with our hotel but the parking attendant was trying to rip us off. We were not happy with that interaction.

I checked into this hotel on a Friday night with two girlfriends. We arrived around 7:30 and the office closes at 8:00. It's what I would consider a small,l boutique type of hotel. Parking is not that great but upon arrival you can park in the adjacent lot if you can find a spot or unload your car at the rear street entrance. After that you will have to move it about a block away to the parking garage. You are given a parking pass so it's free. The first night we stayed in a suite on the 4th floor facing the street. They do have an elevator but it's an older property so it holds either two people or one person and their luggage. The suite is basically set up like a one bedroom apartment. It was clean, spacious, had a kitchenette, sofa bed, and dining table. The furniture is Ikea as one of my friends noted. The bed is super comfortable too. There is no AC but ceiling fan and they provide two tower fans for the room. The second night we stayed on the second floor in a suite facing the beach. Similar room but the furnishing, wall photos, and even the radio were upgraded. The kitchenette is stocked with almost everything you need. My minor complaint is that housekeeping could do a better job of making sure each room has what it needs. Our first room had a wine opener but our second room did not yet it had three can openers and no salt shaker. We had to borrow a wine opener from another guest who had two in their room. This is a great location as it's right on the beach and close to walking to restaurants, liquor and convenience stores.

Here in Southern Cal and Venice Beach pick this place to stay. I enjoyed myself every time I come down. Front desk team/concierge is amazing and informative. This is my go to place when I am working in The area. It's a great place for families and young ppl. It has a beautiful rooftop to enjoy some rays.

Venice Suites doesn't offer much in the way of luxury, but they've got everything I need: Surprisingly spacious rooms at a very decent price. A door that opens right up onto Venice Beach. A parking spot a few blocks away. A suite stocked with soft towels and a decent shower. A beautiful, breezy roofdeck for lounging around (and grilling if you're ambitious). A comfortable bed. Although, the bed may be perfectly comfortable to sleep on, but why is it a thing in this city to place mattresses on a wider wooden platform? Am I the only one leaving LA with significant bruises all over my shins? Anyway, I'm all about apartment hotels (especially for extended stays in a new city), and Venice Suites is a good one.

Ashley checked us in and she was very interested in making this a great experience. I wanted to upgrade the room because I felt like having an ocean view so we looked at two other rooms and they picked this view. It's expensive but sooooo worth it! This is the first Regent property since 1992 when they sold the Beverly Wilshire to the Four Seasons. Welcome back, Regent! They did not miss a single detail! They even have Dyson hairdryers in the room as well as Nespresso machines. I'm super excited about having my own personal bidet! Regent Santa Monica -- A Fresh, Luxurious Surprise on the California Coast…read more I stayed at the Regent Santa Monica for the Fora Asia Intensive, and I'm so glad I chose this property. What an unexpected and refreshing luxury experience. Formerly a Loews, the hotel underwent an extensive year-and-a-half transformation--reducing the room count by half and expanding every space so that nearly all accommodations now feel like true suites. The moment you enter, the hotel feels bright, elegant, and grand. A towering, statuesque Christmas tree greeted me during check-in, adding warmth and festive charm. The service shined from the start: I was welcomed at the car, my bags were handled immediately, and I was personally escorted to the front desk. While checking in, I enjoyed a spiced apple cider welcome drink before a manager walked me--and my luggage--to my room. And the rooms... absolutely stunning. Thoughtfully designed with a serene wave wall backdrop, complimentary sparkling waters and sodas, a Nespresso, and one of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in. The bathroom is a dream--complete with a Dyson hair dryer, clothing steamer, soaking tub, and bath salts I fully indulged in between meetings. These are the kinds of touches that elevate a stay from "nice" to "memorable." The property is perfectly positioned across the street from the beach with postcard views of the Santa Monica Pier, Ferris wheel, and coastline. The pool and hot tub sit in the heart of the hotel with cabanas and ocean breezes--a relaxing hideaway that still feels connected to the energy of the beach. Dining is impressive as well, with concepts by Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry, plus a gorgeous Guerlain Spa that adds a true luxury-wellness element to the stay. The location is unbeatable: steps to restaurants, shopping, the beach, and only about 20 minutes from LAX. Every staff member I encountered was warm, polished, and genuinely helpful. Their consistency made the stay feel effortless. Regent Santa Monica is a standout luxury option in Los Angeles--modern, welcoming, beautifully designed, and confidently a place I would send my family and friends. Highly recommend for business trips, beach getaways, wellness weekends, or a stylish home base for exploring LA.

My husband, toddler, and 5 months old stayed here for 3 nights on Memorial Day weekend…read more We had a great time from the moment we walked in: - the hotel is beautiful and location is everything - the staff is very nice, tries to call you by name to make you feel special, and everything screams quiet luxury - the room was very nice, well decorated and comfortable. The tub is the highlight. One comment would be that when we checked in with Anthony, who was so sweet to our toddler, also kept telling us we were getting upgraded to a very nice room. We got all excited. It was a normal room. The "very nice upgrade" just meant that we were on floor 5. I barely call that an upgrade but ok. - we asked for a crib, and we go a nice crib with a cute little baby soap kit from noodle and boo- very nice touch. And baby robes for the kids- my toddler loved it. My toddler was on a rollaway bed and they were super accommodating about it- great experience on that front. - balconies are tiny and I never saw anyone out when I sat out - pool staff was super nice. It was a chilly weekend and the pool could have been warmer (I couldn't get in, but I really don't like cold water). - the beach chairs are also very nice and we were surprised to find them available - they were extremely pleasant about our friends visiting us every day! - the lobby waiter during the day was almost inexistant. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. The woman at night was great. Now for the food...: - coast has a great breakfast, the lemon ricotta pancakes are excellent (though stupid expensive for pancakes) - pico is a good spot for shrimp cocktail and calamari. Hasn't seen shrimps that big in a long time. - overall the food was good everywhere but way overpriced.... The kids menu are ridiculous... hard to justify spending $28 on kids pancakes. That being said, the portions were the same as adult portions... maybe make the portions smaller, and price more accessible? Overall we had a great stay, and while on the expensive side, we agreed we would come back. Nicely done!

I would like to leave a review regarding an experience I had at your restaurant "Coast" on 5/25…read more My mother reserved a table for three at 8:15 PM to celebrate my birthday. Not only was it my birthday, but it was also the first time in over 10 years that I was reunited with my aunt visiting from Brazil, whom I had not seen in a very long time. This dinner was meant to be a special and joyful occasion for our family. The evening started beautifully. Our server, Lex, provided excellent service throughout the dinner. He was attentive, patient, caring, and professional. The food was also excellent, and initially we were truly enjoying our experience. However, around approximately 9:30 PM, the music in the restaurant was suddenly turned off while we were still eating our main course. At that point, we realized we were the last table remaining in the restaurant. Shortly after, we began hearing staff loudly speaking, handling dishes noisily, and clearly beginning their closing procedures around us. I politely mentioned to our server that it felt uncomfortable to have the music turned off while we were still dining. Lex immediately apologized and even kindly offered to turn the music back on. I told him it was alright and that we would simply finish quickly and leave. Despite that, he offered to bring over the manager. I honestly had no intention of escalating the situation, but the manager, Sofia, came to the table. I calmly explained that we felt rushed and uncomfortable due to the complete absence of ambiance, the loud closing noises, and the overall feeling that the restaurant wanted us out before we had even finished our meal. Unfortunately, Sofia's response was deeply disappointing. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging our experience, she stated: "Turning off the music is part of my closing list. I need to send my staff home, they cannot stay." Her tone and attitude came across as dismissive and argumentative rather than empathetic or service-oriented. The conversation became uncomfortable enough that I had to stop it myself. What makes this even more upsetting is that my mother had specifically arranged for a birthday dessert to be brought to the table at the end of dinner. Instead, the desserts were simply packed into boxes to take home, completely removing the celebratory moment she had hoped to create for me. Seeing my mother with tears in her eyes over what was supposed to be a happy family celebration was honestly heartbreaking. I truly do not understand how a restaurant located within a five-star hotel can make guests feel like an inconvenience rather than a priority. Hospitality should never end before the guests leave the table. While I understand restaurants have closing procedures and staff schedules, there is a respectful and gracious way to handle those situations without making paying guests feel rushed out of the establishment. I have personally worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 20 years, so I fully understand operational realities. This is not about staff wanting to go home, that is understandable. This is about the way the situation was handled and the complete lack of hospitality and empathy demonstrated by management. I am extremely disappointed by the way Sofia treated us, and I cannot simply overlook this experience, especially because of how much it affected my mother during what should have been a meaningful evening for our family. You are more than welcome to contact me privately should you wish to discuss this situation further. I am not someone who typically complains, but this experience genuinely left a lasting negative impression.

One person in our group let out a single curse word during a casual conversation, not directed at staff, not aggressive, just a word, and somehow that was enough for the staff to refuse service to our entire group. No warning, no attempt to address it politely, just a flat-out refusal. Completely over the top and unprofessional. What made it worse? They then turned around and selectively served ONE person from our group, which made zero sense given they had just "refused service" to all of us. To add insult to injury, they ended up charging her for multiple items she never even received. So let me get this straight, you refuse service over something minor and then proceed to overcharge a guest? That's not just bad service, that's ridiculous. Between the inconsistency, the attitude, and the billing issues, this place clearly has no idea how to treat customers. Plenty of better spots out there, save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else.

This feels like an easy fix -- better awareness and communication would make a big difference for families with strollers.

The housekeeping staff was fantastic too. The gentleman who was responsible for our room always asked if we needed anything and if he could provide any assistance in making our stay even better. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The great thing about the suite setup is that the living room with a pull out couch is separated by a door to the bedroom; you could watch TV in one room and not bother the people in the other room. The TVs in each room were oversized and there was a decent sized mini fridge (Target and Trader Joes are just down the street - hello wine and beer!) The walls were thick, as was the main door and hotel noise and street noise was minimal. They have a pool on the 3rd floor that doubles as the covered drop off/entrance area and it was very nice. The breakfast buffet was solid (include made to order eggs), but it was too expensive (approx. $33 per person-tip included.) The best part about our stay were the pillows. Down pillows! The most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on! The beds were solid too. What else? You're a couple of blocks from the Santa Monica Pier and Beach.
