Ways to make a solo traveler feel like crap: 1. Yell at her for questioning how to place her order. No need, guy. No need. 2. Make her stand and wait for her food....but be sure to tell the couple who walked in right after to have a seat and bring them food. 3. As she looks for a seat with her food tray, ask her if she's planning to sit downstairs. She had no plan. She was only looking for an open seat at the smallest table size. She is not an expert on your restaurant's layout. Sorry. 4. Say goodbye and thank you to every other party that left. Do not bother even looking up as she leaves. Yeah, I shut the door too hard on my way out. Not on purpose. I was so upset by the clear divide in treatment. There was no reason pleasantries couldn't be a thing here. I had the chicken pesto sandwich. It was okay. The americano wasn't that great. I wouldn't return.

It's too funny that right beside a shop that touts "The Best Hot Chocolate" is Venice Corn whose sign says they have the best waffles in town This very well may be the case as every single waffle we tried ( at the whopping 3 places we visited ) were awful. Venice Corn's waffle was the best of the worst We grabbed 2 for takeaway & decided it would be a great pairing w/ our takeaway "best" hot chocolate ( we're suckers for advertising ) Tasting somewhat stale, the waffle was at least hot & coated in a caramelized sugar which gave it a modicum of flavor Weird that we couldn't find a decent Belgian Waffle in Belgium....... So 3-Stars for offering us the best of the worst. Wish I could offer other accolades.......but........

Cozy sandwich shop on rainy day.

The gap was filled by the European equivalent Quick Burger. This is not a name I was familiar with so let me introduce you . Quick burger is located in Market Square in the centre of Bruges. You can eat inside or out if the weather is good. Its location overlooks the whole of the square so you get a great view of Bruges busy life whilst admiring the architecture of The Belfry and Provinciaal Hof at the opposite end of the square. Food is typical of the type of McDonalds although I found the service to be quite slow. One thing I particulary found good about this place was the lack of salt on the fries. I like salt but I never add it to food and I find it quite annoying if you order fries and they come laced with salt. However, if you want salt on your fries it is available seperately. Language is not a problem here and I was fascinated by the young girl who served me as she spoke to me in perfect English and whilst I was waiting took another order in French whilst talking to her colleagues in Flemish. This is a very popular and busy Restaurant and if you have picky kids who don't like anything unusual you should find this place a hit. Video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG9kBTgYZvo

There seemed to be a few people hanging around for burgers and someone was waiting for a pancake apparently. My Allumettes Burger took a good 5 minutes to come (darn specials). Mind you, it was a really delicious burger. The matchstick shaped crisps in it somehow worked to my happy surprise. In the end I was glad that I waited instead of grabbing a ready made Giant. On the market square so can get unbearably busy at peak times.
