Why I was so impressed with my treatment and service -safe process to gain entrance. You call them and they ask you information about your condition. Then they call you back when they're ready to see you and let you inside. -courteous and professional staff. -Dr. Kevin McKelvey treated me & prescribed a shot of Rocephin & two meds which I picked up yesterday when I drove back to Alexandria. I found this place by looking up the nearest location my insurance would take and this was just a 7 minute drive. On their website you're able to see how long the wait time is and schedule yourself for an appointment if you like. You can't choose your time slot tho, you just kinda reserve and you get whatever's available. The whole process once you arrived was a breeze. On my most recent visit I came to do a wellness check up so I can get my wellness dollars through my employer. I didn't schedule myself this time but luckily when I showed up there wasn't a wait time at all. I brought my voucher and form that needed to be filled out and the lady who was there helped with all of that. I didn't spent a dollar on either visits because my insurance covered it all. Literally paid me to get a check up. Pretty convenient spot for me.

I visited this minute clinic for a simple flue test. And was charged for $200, including $129…read moreoffice visit and $70 test. Apparently, every time you visit CVS minute clinic, you will automatically get charged range from $99 to $129 before they do anything to you. I called the billing department and the office to understand what this $129 fee is for. I was told that this fee was for talking to you about your symptoms plus the time they spend on you. So the longer you stay, the more the charge at the minute clinic. Just be aware of this before you choose the minute clinic. It doesn't save money compared to urgent care and emergency care. The only advantage is that you can reserve ahead on the same day. But for people who decide to drop in, you may still need to wait for more than an hour.

Our wait as a walk-in, first thing in the morning on a Saturday, was about 45 minutes, MUCH faster than the Newport News Patient First. Also much cleaner, bigger waiting area, and more space between the seats. It did get crowded quickly after our check-in. My kid just had sinus symptoms but they had lasted for weeks, and were turning into raspy lungs/shortness of breath as well. The male docter we saw was professional and friendly, with a joking manner. Really liked him. The visit with him was shockingly quick. But we did get the medication we needed to make my teen feel better.
