I am so fortunate But I was able to see them on a Saturday night. I live in Alexandria Virginia and was down in Williamsburg for a night. Noticed a spider bite on my leg while driving down and it began to get red and started trailing up my leg which concerned me. Honestly I was kind of freaking out!! Why I was so impressed with my treatment and service -safe process to gain entrance. You call them and they ask you information about your condition. Then they call you back when they're ready to see you and let you inside. -courteous and professional staff. -Dr. Kevin McKelvey treated me & prescribed a shot of Rocephin & two meds which I picked up yesterday when I drove back to Alexandria. I was having a panic attack with chest pain. First off the door was locked and I had to call the office and wait on hold for someone to pick it up. They had to get my name and insurance info, then they told me to wait in my car. WTF? I'm literally panicking and having chest pain, with a history of heart problems, and they're making me wait in my car for their staff to get off their butts and call me. if you have a stressed out college student do not send them here. The doctor had a terrible attitude and over diagnosed my daughter. Luckily we have a relative that has a medical background and googled the symptoms that my daughter had and what she was diagnosed with. told her that she was fine meanwhile my daughter was a wreck until tests came back negative. I called as a parent to tell them next time you give them a terrible diagnosis to be a little more aware of the stress they are causing. Night staff on the weekend is rude and unprofessional. Not the front desk staff though. Left before I was treated because they made me so uncomfortable. The cna or "nurse" looked at me crazy when I asked for a mask. I understand it's the end of the night and it's late and people work 12 hour shifts and want to go home to their families. I see from the other reviews my experience was not unique. I've been very ill for two days and more symptoms showed up today. We had an appointment at 8:40 and we're told to be there at 8:10. My husband risked infection to drive me. When we got there they said we weren't in the schedule and they couldn't fit me in. I'm back home now with a 102.7 fever. Do not trust this place. read more

I came here to get a Covid test. They are supposed to be faster service hence the name "Express" but they are far from it. I waited an entire 60 minutes in my car for a simple covid test when other places will see you in like 5 mins. The only reason I came here in the first place was because no other place in town (that I knew of) had a same day appointment. In addition to the long wait time, the covid tests here are NOT free! They charge you/your insurance a regular doctors visit which is insane. You'd think that given the fact that this is a worldwide pandemic, they'd be more gracious with costs. But unfortunately they are not. I will definitely NOT be returning her in the future. read more

Went in because I suspected Covid due to extreme stabbing and burning in my lungs. They didn't even bother to tell me that their swabs had ethylene oxide in it - a substance carcinogenic to humans. As a cancer survivor, I was highly disappointed that they exposed me to this very well knowing I had cancer at only 28 years old. They also gave me a toxic heavy metal tincture that was supposed to 'calm' my nerves. A day later and my gastroparesis is back, which I had spent 9 months curing naturally. Good thing I know there is a cure and that conventional medicine is not it. I am never going back. Goodbye. read more

My 4 year old grandaughter had a appointment at 5:10 today, December 6, 2022. My daughter arrived on time. She waited there until 7 without being seen. My daughter asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. The woman told her that they couldn't answer that. So, my daughter asked her if she had tome to go up the road to pick her prescription up at Harris Teeter? The receptionist said yes and they would call my daughter when it got down to 3 people ahead of my grandaughter. My daughter said okay and left. My daughter picked up her prescription and still didn't get a call from med express. So, because my young grandaughter being sick, grumpy and antsy, she took her to Walmart to get a doll. As my daughter was in line checking out, she called med express to see if she should go back there. They told her that my grandaughters spot was already taken because she wasn't there. My daughter told the thar they were supposed to call her ahead of time so she could get back there. The receptionist said. " we forgot". So, my daughter asked the receptionist if she could come right then for them to see my grandaughter. The receptionist said yes. My daughter said okay, all I have to do is finish checking out at Walmart amd then she would be right there. The receptionist saud :okay". When my daughter arrived back there, she went to the door and it was locked. By this time, it was 9:11 and it was raining. My daughter knocked in the door and two woman at the front desk saw her and would go to the door. They shut off the lights and ignored her. Then 3 other staff members and the doctor came out front and saw my daughter knocking and with my grandaughter in her arms getting rained on and they would not come to the door. By this time, my daughter was very upset and she continued to knock on the door and the window. Finally all 6 of the staff members came to unlock the door and talk to my daughter. They told her that they close at 9 and the doctor could not see her. My daughter argued with them over this because after waiting for several hours and being told it was okay to leave and they would call when it was time to come back, and now they would not see her. And the receptionist told her to come back and the doctor would see her. All the doctor said to my daughter was it is our policy to close at 9 and that he suggests she take my grandaughtef to the emergency room. I would not take any one of my family members here ever again and I and my daughter will go to whereever we need to go to and report you to whoever is in charge. We will also tell the world and anyone that will listen how bad this place is and how bad and unprofessional Doctor Howard was and suggests no one ever goes to him ever again. What has happened to our medical doctors? They used to care about people and not worry about what time it was or polices. They are getting just like how this messed up world has become. read more

We came here because my husband injured his head. The appointment system actually means nothing. You are seen in the order you arrive. Despite making an appointment online and arriving on time ( early) we were sat with all the sick people for well over and hour ( so far). Awful. Five hours for a COVID test. No communication about time. When they tell you fifteen minutes for the results and it's an hour, that's not acceptable. They could have given me my results so they could clear a room but they didn't bother to effectively manage patients' needs. The doctor was kind and apologetic--im not sure about the rest of the staff. The front receptionist wouldn't check on anything to give updates but just said repeatedly "We're really busy." read more

Really nice place .. I feel a lot of people get angry because of the way they run things, but it really makes sense. There was a two hour wait time so they asked us to come back in two hours & we did. It's very minimal paperwork. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, a girl named Hailey helped me on the phone, very very sweet girl. It was two days after Christmas and I had been waiting since before Christmas to get into an urgent care & apparently the other two were closed. How disappointing. I understand it was two days after Christmas but how about all the people who couldn't come in during the holidays and need to be seen?? I was really really sick and couldn't figure out what I had , and they were reasonable and helpful. Only thing that gets me is people coming in urgent care for issues that can be drugstore or home fixed vs coming in urgent care and pushing people who really need help back because you need to come in about something very minimal like a small cut or bruise. I would also keep in mind that people (like me for instance) come in with very contagious illnesses, if you aren't interested in getting sick I would wait outside so you aren't in the same room as other sick people. Smarter thinking. Otherwise, really a great place and I didn't have any issues at all. Would recommend this urgent care over the other two in Williamsburg. I am so under-impressed with this facility. I had a 2:40 appointment for a Covid test. I'm still sitting here an hour and a half later. They literally just need to stick a swab up my nose and they are making me wait IN MY CAR all day, but are they going to send someone to my car to test me? Nope. Gotta go in and share the Covid. Stupid. I am not likely to every visit this place again. There is no reason to wait this long except that we can't find tests anywhere else. This think this far into the pandemic, we'd have solved testing. Nope. And MD Express is doing it completely wrong. read more

I flew in to see Dr Alex Rizk, who treated me for a bladder infection, yeast infection, as well as, an allergic reaction to Bactrim. In short I was a mess. Dr Rizk diagnosed me right a way and gave me two prescriptions, cefdinir (omnicef), and prednisone (deltasone) and an over the counter drugs Benadrl and monastat. The office staff was friendly and efficient, and the Dr. was really good. He answered all my questions and was respectful towards my husband and me. Visiting from CA in Williamsburg and wasn't sure who to see. Now stuck I'm in my hotel waiting to feel better. Since I'm going to be here in three days I may go back before I go back home. Unprofessional Staff Since, today (1/26/2021) at 9:00 AM I called 757-564-3627 and never got an answer on the phone after two attempts.  So, I called by noon trying again and someone picked up the phone and put me on hold abruptly.  After seen this behavior, I called from a different phone number in the meantime I was on hold from other phone number and then someone answered the phone real quick and gave the orientation needed regarding my wife's results, but with someone laughing at the background. I don't want to think that I personally was been ignore or some thing like that, because I felt that way.  I know, I called yesterday for questions regarding my own results and daughter's too but today was regarding my wife's, who took the test at different time than me, and clarifications was needed in order to send her results for her employer.  So please, I would like to suggest to take this more seriously and avoid those type of conduct even that you has a higher degree of importance. read more

Last Tuesday evening (5/19/2015) around 8:30ish, my 6 year old took a header off the bed while asleep and knocked his little chin into the nightstand in our hotel room. We looked up urgent care centers on the GPS and arrived at MD Express within 10 minutes of closing (9 pm). Neither the care nor service were rushed, but we were seen promptly and were out the door by 9:15. They take Cigna and our copay for the visit and laceration fix with some steristrips (we got to take some home, too) was $50. The nurses and doctor were very good at calming and distracting a groggy kid and his tired parents. Good location for the hotels on and off the Williamsburg main drag. read more

My daugther got sick during vacation and was recommend to go here. The staff was friendly. The check in process was quick and easy- especially from someone who doesn't live in the area. The wait was good for a urgent care, I seen worst at doctors offices lol. My daugther was treated with great care and examen to make sure she was diagnose correctly. I have no complaint. read more

EDIT: I ended up needing to come back two days later. The PA that I originally saw misdiagnosed me with bronchitis, and my symptoms continued to get worse until I couldn't stop coughing to breathe. I told the nurse about my bad experience with the PA, and asked to see the doctor this time. He was respectful and listening, and ended up doing an X-ray and diagnosed with pneumonia. Misdiagnosed for three days, it had progressed very quickly (hence the inability to breathe). The medication I'd been prescribed by the PA on my first visit had actually made it worse. I was miserable for the next week while the correct medication did it's job, and some (if not 95%) of that could have been avoided had the PA actually done HIS job. If I could give one star, I would - it's one thing to have horrible bedside manner but be a competent diagnostician and medical professional, it's another to disrespect patients to the point of doing them harm. In my opinion, he should be fired and have his license revoked. That said, the doctor and the rest of the staff were perfectly fine. They kept me in the room after my X-ray to do a breathing treatment to get the coughing under control, and even called to check up on me a few days later. My guess is they were afraid of a malpractice suit (which IMO, would have been 100% justified) and trying to smooth things over, but at least I can pretend. First review: I was seen and treated very quickly and the nurse was really nice, but the PA that diagnosed me was rude and incompetent. He didn't think I was telling the truth about my symptoms (it was an aggressive cough and trouble breathing, kind of difficult to fake), and insinuated that I was a liar, just trying to get out of class. He treated me like a child and made some very rude jokes. read more

Front desk staff was very friendly and nurse that took vitals was very patient with my irritable baby. We saw the physician's assistant and he was just great! I had an out of the ordinary medical need on a Saturday and MD Express is the urgent care provider linked to my primary care office. From start to finish, I couldn't have been more impressed. The front office staff was warm and accommodating and I was taken back to the exam room 15 minutes after arriving. The doctor, Eric Obie, MD, was fantastic. He spent 45 minutes on my case, ruling out every explanation he could for my malady in a primary care setting. When he wasn't comfortable that was enough, he arranged a specialist appointment with a provider who agreed to open his office on a Saturday afternoon. I'm so impressed with the quality of care I received at MD Express and I won't hesitate to visit again when the need arises. read more

I came here because I saw something suspicious in my feces. Given my situation and medical history, the diagnosis was very straightforward and could have been crafted using simplistic methods. Instead of efficiently providing a solution, the doctor kept delaying the prognosis with unnecessary and costly medical tests. The staff, while friendly, was dismissive and unapologetic. If you find yourself here, keep an eye on your wallet because they are in the business of making money off your misfortunes. read more

Dr. Maulbetsch examined my daughter and did not wash his hands before or after he touched her and also did not wear gloves (although he did have a mask). All the COVID precautions the facility took are meaningless if the practitioners can not be bothered to do the basics. I complained to the discharge nurse and she insisted the doctor probably used the sanitizing station before entering the room, but that also means he touched a dirty door knob and other instruments before touching my daughter, putting her at risk, and then did not wash his hands after touching her when he left the room, again touching the doorknob, potentially putting the rest of the staff at risk. We've had bad experiences at this facility before, including twice being misdiagnosed (confirmed by follow up pediatrician visits). We will never go back to this facility. Ever. read more
