After attempting to self-study for the LSAT and then bombing it, I understood I needed to take a course in order to reach my potential. However, all the classes I saw either online or in person costs thousands of dollars. I also work full time and am broke, so it really seemed like something that was out of reach for me.
Until I met a girl who was enrolled in my top pick law school who told me about Velocity. She told me it helped her jump 10 points, it was all online, it was way more economically feasible, and that it was "fun." It all seemed too good to be true, but when she said "fun" I laughed in her face and said, "good one." But she was serious! And she was right.
Velocity really fills the need of providing an excellent test prep option for those who don't have the means to pay thousands of dollars and who need an online format to accommodate for full time working lives. Also, it is fun. Dave, who leads the course, is a real person who often has dog hair on his shirt, sometimes a large beard, always making jokes, and always on your side.
Specifically, Dave approaches the test through a methodical lens. He really really really teaches you how to approach problems through structural reading and pattern recognition. He teaches you how to speak the language of the test makers and to see beyond the content to make you faster and more effective. If you are consistent with your work, YOU WILL GET BETTER. And you will start to understand why you got questions wrong in a way that is absolutely applicable to every test you will take in the future. He gives you the skill set, and it is up to you & your self discipline to finesse those skills to answer questions more accurately and more efficiently.
I absolutely would recommend. It will make you a better LSAT test taker, and you'll actually enjoy yourself in the process. read more
