Honda Goldwing mechanic didn't diagnose the intermittent hard starting just said I need battery , they replaced battery and 3 hours later trike starter didn't work . Called dealer and service said they couldn't do anything as they were closing in 30 minutes and did nothing to help . I had to rent U-Haul with flat bed trailer and tow home (1000 miles) and from Saturday to Thursday have not heard from dealer. They are a Honda PowerSports dealer , I don't trust and for anyone elastic good luck going there . read more

Staff is super nice, but communication has been absolute hotdog water. Salesman requested basic info/pics/vin for trade-in. Info was provided and then the salesman ghosted. Reached out two days later, salesman claimed he was currently in meeting with GM discussing the trade and would reach out after. 5 days go by with no contact, I reached out again to see the status on the trade... crickets. I have no issue with a trade deal not working out, just give me a yes or no. Buying a $20,000 toy in February shouldn't be this difficult. read more

Jose was extremely helpful when I bought my bike, he helped me understand what I was signing and what the terms meant. I would recommend others seek him out if they want to shop at the store. This review is 4 stars only because I don't want a bad review with his name on it, otherwise it would be 2 or 3. They assembled my bike when I bought it, I've taken a few courses but don't really have much knowledge of what feels right yet. In the middle of an intersection when I went to shift the wire for my clutch popped out of place due to being over tensioned. I took my bike in to sell, the KBB on it to a dealership is $4365. The guy had the balls to offer me $1500. Bike is in great shape, new tires, recently had a complete tune up, power commander, etc. I was in shock at the "offer" they presented. Do not come to Velocity for service. I scheduled an appointment to have both of my motorcycle tires changed for 9 A.M. I dropped off the bike and waited in the lobby for 3 hours. I thought that was kind of ridiculous for a tire change-up. When I approach the member of service, he states that everything is going fine, almost done. At the 5-hour mark, I approach him again, which leads into the explanation that the front axle bolt snapped. He said they would get parts from America Biker to fix the issue. I'm pretty upset but I get it; things happen. I went around the back to get my stuff out of my saddle bags, and they were still removed. When I told the tech I was looking for my saddle bags, he said, "That's cool. I don't know where they are either.. Then a guy working the desk told me it wasn't his job to help me. This is a warning to all motorcycle shoppers and owners not to waste your time with Velocity Powersports. I want to share two recent experiences with Velocity Powersports that have turned me off ever visiting there again. 1) Ripping off customers by adding aftermarket parts to new motorcycles without being asked. My wife was shopping for a new Kawasaki z400 but was considering the ninja 400 as an alternative. The one that they had on the showroom floor was priced over 1500 dollars higher than normal and when pressed about why, they tried to tell me that it was because it has an aftermarket akrapovic exhaust, and the $900 in parts and $300 in labor and $300 in extra shipping were being added to the price. This was a brand new motorcycle, not used. We explained that we don't need the exhaust and would rather take the bike stock, and they refused to either remove the exhaust or remove the extra charges. This is an obvious and blatant attempt to force customers to spend more money that they didnt come to spend to buy parts that they didn't intend to buy. We ended up having to buy a completely different bike because velocity absolutely refused to budge even a single cent on this issue. They acted as if it was outof their control, when they were the ones who chose to put the unnecessary extra part on the bike in the first place. Shameless con artistry. 2) Failing to complete even basic diagnostic work in the service department. I brought a bike in for service to try to determine why the front brake rotors were being warped. It was clear from visible symptoms that the bike was unnaturally warping the rotors, and that it was specifically originating from a dragging caliper. I asked them to diagnose the underlying problem and fix it, they said this would be no problem to fix within 2 weeks. When I asked what the diagnosis was, I discovered that they hadn't made a diagnosis but were waiting for new brake rotors to arrive. I re-stated that I needed to know what the underlying cause was, not just replace the rotors. They said ok they'll get on it...the next day they called to say there are no brake rotors available anywhere, which I proved to be a lie in 5 minutes by ordering my own set right there on the phone with the tech. I asked again what the diagnosis was, only to be told that they STILL had not diagnosed a problem. In the end, after two weeks of waiting, they failed to even attempt a serious diagnosis, and had nothing at all to tell me about what the problem is supposed to be. It boils down to straight up laziness. They refused to even try to troubleshoot and diagnose the underlying issue, no matter how many times i.asked them. I was forced to just take my bike back with not a single thing having been done to fix it in two weeks. On top of that they left it sitting outside during some of that time because there was rust appearing in various places that had to be cleaned off. To make thibgs worse, on my way out they had the nerve to actually try to charge me a diag fee of $139....FOR NOTHING. I refused to pay them a single cent of course. What these two stories illustrate is that Velocity has become callous, greedy, and lazy in every aspect of running their business. They WILL screw you if you try to buy from them, and they WILL screw you if you try to use them for service. Their monopoly of almost every motorcycle dealer in the Charleston area is only thing that props them up. If they actually had to compete they would fall apart from the way they treat people. Do not visit Velocity powersports at any of their 3 locations. Take your business elsewhere and you will be happy you did. read more

Where do i start...went in for a reseal job for what i was told was 350 labor. Got the parts ordered and payed for and waited over a month for my appointment. Went in on the appt. Date and wham...oh sorry we made a mistake your appt is next week. Dropped bike off and went in to pay the bill and wham...over 600 bucks. The had all kinds of things added on there. They took off the breaks that they didnt do and got to the parts which they recharged me for and after all that got the bike home to find a huge ding in the finder and my lights taped on from behind with duck tape. We were quoted a price on the phone, and were told the item we wanted to purchase was in inventory by Lydia. We drive there, and not only was the time NOT in inventory, but the "out the door" price was $4000.00 more than the phone quote. Sold us a 2017 Harley Davidson and less than 4 months had to take it into Harley Davidson where they found metal piece fragments in the engine ...Velocity told us it had just been serviced which was a lie . Issue: 20%-50% Dealer fees on top of advertised price for new bikes. (Not incl. tax) Every staff member I have interacted with has been incredible. The available inventory is fantastic. The facility is gorgeous. Gear and maintenance items are abundant. BUT When you go to buy motorcycles (at least) you will be charged 20%-50% on top of sticker price. Even removing all ad ons you are still paying 20% on top of sticker price for shipping and assembly when buying the product that is on the showroom floor. This has happened on every new bike I have tried to buy from them (3). Those will not be removed. Will not be shown until you are given the final paperwork. Staff and Facility are fantastic! Just to add here since the response suggests I didn't know the break-in procedure which I did from day one, the engine was not held at high throttle during the break-in period and I also know that this model has a break-in mode programmed to ensure initial engine protection. This worked as the ski literally would not let me use full throttle at all even though the break-in suggests brief full acceleration and speed variations contribute to a good break-in. Again, the issues started around 30hrs, well past the break-in period, on top of it, there was another exact same model ski at the shop with the same exact issue ... warranty work ... if it was the operators fault it would not be covered under warranty. Also still haven't heard anything about the cover from BRP or Velocity (other than the response on my other review) ... maybe once I get a decent service I can update this review but already trying to make me out as a liar isn't a good look. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service, found a jet ski on their website and had to call them repeatedly to get any information on the product and finally after a week and 10 phone calls from me and none back from them i got a price and agreed to buy the ski and Greg the salesman said they will save it for me on 1/19/23, I was getting ready to drive there this morning(5 hour drive on 1/20/23) and was told Greg was not there for the day and I asked for the sales manager to call me so i could make payment arrangements. I told Nikki a sales assistant the problems I was having with call backs and of me never getting a call back. I told her I had my own business as well and I share their pain of working with fewer employees. NiKKi told me I was aggressive and angry and i could hear someone in the background telling her what to say. Very unprofessional. Nikki assured me the manager would call me back and halfway through my drive, 3 hours later she calls me to tell me that they already sold the Jetski due to my attitude. I have never met a more unprofessional bunch of people. They can say what they want but this is the honest to God's truth. Their manager sounds like a arrogant pompous idiot. I only put one star just so I could write a review. The owner of this place also owns charleston power sports. I have never seen such a shady business in my whole life. They are liars and thieves here. I would definitely caution anyone from doing business here as I was lied to multiple times. I was sold a 2014 model and told it was a 2015 and didn't realize it until my registration came!! Now their sales guy won't even answer me back. They have this market cornered around the charleston area as he owns all three dealerships of this type, and you can tell by thier attitude. So if you must go to any of these businesses be very aware and check all your paperwork very very closely!!!! Also the service department at charleston powersports scratched my bike when they had it and said they would fix it and call me within a week, well that was almost a month ago!! read more

Nice folks but DO NOT buy from Velocity unless you want to pay too much. Do yourself a favor. Drive a little farther to say Columbia and buy from a real dealership. I bought a motorcycle from Velocity and they charged $100 over list, Freight & Destination ($489) and Assembly & Prep ($345). In addition, I paid sales tax on all of that. An extra $981 on a $3,500 bike. My fault for not researching more. I did on my next purchase. I drove a little farther for my next bike (no additional fees and great service). I drove right past Velocity both ways :) Well worth it. read more

I've been familiar with these guys for a long time now ... they moved from Summerville to the present location and built a larger facility. Even with all the space, the parts department remains downsized, and prices are NOT displayed on fluids or parts! Can you guess why? This all reflects their basic tenet: sell 'em a bike and then gouge 'em for upkeep. They rarely have a needed part on hand, but the showroom is cavernous. "We can order it for you" is the usual response when you need a bolt or gasket. Well, WE can order the part, too, from Bike Bandit ... and have it shipped to our own doors. As for service, I've heard that replacing a worn tire can run as much as $300 for the tire and mounting/balancing. Compare that to the price of a car's tire, mounted and balanced. That's why I invested in my own No-Mar tire mounting machine, which has paid for itself in the last 8 years! The moment you leave your vehicle and venture inside, you find yourself walking around, or wedging between, hordes of motorcycles, ATVs, jet skis, and Can-Ams. The packed showroom has an observation room/office in a corner to the left as you walk in ... where management can keep tabs on the sales reps, but not have to deal with the customers. Sales reps are, on the whole, polite and low key ... but often do not know the specs for the bikes. Brochures are sparse, too ... considering the wide range of makes and models carried on hand. All in all, I usually make the trip to Champion Honda twelve miles away for most of my needs, even though Velocity is less than a mile from my house. They have the Honda fluids and a better parts department, even though they're less than half as big, and their prices are posted. In some ways, their service is also high priced, but you can enter the service department and chat with the mechanics there ... and I like that. I've bought three bikes from Champion throughout the years since the late 70s and I trust them. Never bought a bike from Velocity ... probably never will, either. read more

Filled out a loan application and was told they would get back to me but nothing but credit card app that also let's me monitor my credit report showed me my credit report was pulled 3 times if they was not able to approve me I understand but least have the respect to at least email the person back and let them know so I'm stuck with 3 inquiries on my report for a while cause I guess one pull wasn't enough for them. read more

I had cross threaded a bolt hole for my rear brake rotor and thought would need a new hub. I brought the wheel assembly in and they re-tapped the threads, 75% were still good and did not charge me a dollar. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. read more

I had to chose one star to even review however 0 stars is what is earned from me. If you have a atv you want fixed in a timely manner I highly suggest you go to another dealership. My atv has been at this shop for 6 months. I have gotten nothing but the run around. One person don't know what the next one has told you so they all just telling you whatever story they can think of. No continued contact I have had to reach out to them every time for updates . I have had to call Honda everytime as well. Excuse behind excuse Parts are back ordered, waiting on Honda to approve parts ( which Honda approved sooner than what they telling you) only have one service tech, will have it put back together this day and then you hear nothing so you call back and get oh well we had a deadline of another date that you clearly didn't even give them and they didn't give you because you were told it would be done several times by a certain date. Have given them plenty of time to complete the job. Honda don't understand what has taken so long but they blaming Honda for part of the reason it's not ready. Today I get well he has been working on yours for 2 days solid and it will be ready by Friday. Ok so two days and ready but yet it's been here 6 months? Most likely sitting not being tougher. No care from them at all even after speaking to the manager and you get well this happens. No this shouldn't have happened because if you couldn't do the job and can't communicate with the owner of the atv then don't take them in. I didn't contact these people for 3 months after it being there allowing them enough time. Now I am done so my review is this and My advice Is to use another dealership point blank . read more
