As a relatively healthy woman from the baby boomer generation, in 2015, with no genetic history of…read morecancer in my family, I was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer. After a complete hysterectomy and minimal follow-up treatment (without radiation), I enjoyed three years of clean health. Then in 2018, I started having digestive issues, acid reflux, insomnia, burning sensations in legs, abdomen, back and face. I was probed, scanned, had multiple blood tests and referred to many specialists. My auto-immune thyroid numbers were through the roof, I was told I was under stress and that I should try counseling. I was prescribed medication for the acid reflux, medication for sleep and told that eventually I would need to be on medication for my thyroid as well. I used the acid reflux meds for two years, and tried the sleep meds to no avail. I was a mess, my symptoms were getting worse and were a huge disruption to my life and I refused to accept the fact that taking medications were my only way forward. While reading an article in one of my local magazines about boosting your immunity through natural remedies, I was introduced to Dr. Ashley Russell, who was a contributor to the article. I decided it was time to forge a new path. The discovery that her office was only five minutes from my house was a sign from the universe that I had to go and see her. To keep this story brief but poignant, Dr. Russell ran tests that none of my other doctors even thought of and was able to figure out the root cause of all of my symptoms, which she treated gently, using natural supplements, nutritional guidelines and suggestions for mind/body practices. Slowly but surely, all of my symptoms quieted down (and went away), sleep returned and my thyroid numbers came under control. Dr. Russell treats the whole body, not just the symptoms. She gives you the time to speak, she takes the time to listen and learn about you as a person. She cares about your whole body health and not about selling quick fixes or products in general. Dr. Russell helped me regain my quality of life and since 2021, Dr. Russell continues to be my first choice when it comes to my healthcare.

It has admittedly taken me a long time to write a review for Dr. Russell as I don't even know where…read moreto begin with how much she has helped me in the course of being one of her patients for the last year and a half. From the beginning, Dr. Russell understood my concern and understood why it was important to me to find more natural solutions to address the issue that I came to her with. From the very beginning, Dr. Russell's approach was different and refreshing. At our first meeting we discussed the reason why I initially sought her care, but then discussed where I was at as a person and uncovered that I really had multiple goals that I was wanting to address. She ordered a health panel and carefully walked me through understanding all the numbers---something no doctor had other done before with me. She answered all my questions thoughtfully and provided resources to help me better reach my personal health goals. The other thing that Dr. Russell makes clear from the beginning is that she wants you to be an active participant in your health and she really means it. She doesn't get offended when I ask questions and doesn't think that I am questioning her expertise or professional opinion. She understands how important it is to me to be involved and fully understand different options, and she facilitates this understanding. In short, Dr. Russell is a truly caring health professional that fully supports her patients. She is respectful, non-judgmental, attentive, and smart. To Dr. Russell you are not a number, but actually a person that she truly cares about. She remembers what you talk about from visit to visit and helps you be accountable toward reaching your personal health goals. During COVID, we have been having virtual telehealth visits that have been seamless. I feel very fortunate to be one of her patients and cannot recommend her highly enough.

What really sets them apart is that everything feels transparent and trustworthy. The therapists here aren't relying on friends or family to boost their ratings -- their reputation comes from real clients who keep returning because the quality is unmatched. Every session feels intentional, therapeutic, and grounded in actual skill, not just routine motions. The environment is clean, calming, and organized, and the staff communicates clearly from the moment you book your appointment. They take the time to listen, adjust the pressure, and focus on what your body actually needs. There's never any rushed feeling, no awkwardness, and no "assembly line" vibe like you get at so many other places. Honestly, going anywhere else feels like a waste of time. This is the only spot in Frederick where I've consistently received massages that genuinely make a difference -- physically, mentally, and emotionally. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Personally, I don't trust the "independent" or solo-operated setups you see around -- the ones with inconsistent communication, unclear policies, questionable reviews, and none of the structure or accountability you get in a real clinic. Too many of them rely on personal acquaintances for ratings, and the quality varies wildly. It's just not worth the risk. This clinic is the only place in Frederick where I feel completely safe, cared for, and confident in the professionalism behind every service. I won't go anywhere else -- and I genuinely don't recommend that anyone else does either.

Dr. Teri O'Neil gave my husband a prescription that the pharmacy we use was unable to fulfill due to lack of inventory. Which is fine, not the doctors fault. However, it took the doctor multiple days, calls and messages to correct the prescription and prescribe something that our pharmacy could fulfill. My husband attempted to call and leave messages with the front desk to be relayed to the dr with no response. When he was finally able to speak to the dr. She had no idea he had been attempting to reach out. The lack of communication within the office is alarming. I finally had to step in and call the office in an aggressive manner to get them to correct the prescription. Furthermore, Morgan at the front desk has an attitude problem. She's both rude and disrespectful to patients and fellow colleagues in the medical profession. Once the prescription had been corrected there was one more discrepancy that the pharmacist had to clarify with the office and when the pharmacist called Dr. O'Neils office Morgan was very short, rude and seemed annoyed to have to actually do her duties as a front desk employee and help. Needless to say we will not be back.

I just started a new prescription this past Friday 8/12/2011 and I can actually say that this is the first weekend that I finally feel somewhat normal. I would recommend Dr Syed himself personally but I would not recommend his front office staff. The young lady who generally answers the phone, takes your copay and ultimately checks my blood pressure is great. nice and will chit chat with you. The problem that I have experienced repeatedly is this. 1. When I call I have been denied to see the Dr if I have a balance due. while i understand that the Dr needs to get paid. it is for small amounts like $20.00. the office manager has said to me I cannot see you until you pay your amount. I say well can I pay it when I come in? her res ponce is always curt and nasty. " if you want the DR to see you then you have to pay it or go to the emergency room" really? for $20.00 2. I never have my prescriptions at my pharmacy. while i understand completely that this very well is possibly not the fault of the DR office at all. but just about every time I have to call and recall and leave message after message to ask them to send the prescription to my pharmacist so that I have my needed medication. now tell me? if the pharmacy says they don't have the prescription then who shall i call to get it? I can only call the Dr office. I call and call and call leave message after message and no reply. I will finally call only to be told in a very rude manner by the office manager that i have called it in. well if that were the case and they had it?why would I be calling you?My children's Dr office I need only call once and they say " oh let me call them and sort this out for you so that you can have the Medicine that you need. the end result and the reason that I decided to submit my experiences here were this past weekend. my prescription was running out. I called the office and was advised that they called it in on the 8th of Aug, 2011 now mind you this is Blood Pressure medicine and if I don't take it or even miss a dose I feel very dizzy and sick. well, everyday from the 8th - 12th of Aug I checked with the pharmacy to see if they had gotten my prescription??? finally I was on my last and final pill on Friday Aug 12,2011. Now I know the office hours are only from 9am -12pm noon on Friday at Dr Syeds office. So I called early to remind them that I still after the whole week did not have my medication at the pharmacy? no one answered the phone so I left a message at 9:36am. I requested a call back confirming that this was taken care of as I had waited all week for a call back and never got it. once again no call came. by 11:46am in the middle of my busy morning work day I call again and the young lady says " Ms Hyder I told you that this was called in for you on the 8th!!! I say well if that is the case why am I calling you. on the phone to the pharmacist and she says no we do not have it yet???still???? I say can you please call them? they call...now keeping in mind the office will close at 12pm. i still do not have my medication after checking everyday the 8th,9th,10th,11th & her e it was the end of the week and still no medication?? the actual pharmacist calls after having me in tears on the phone from lack of response by my DR office. she gets the Office manager who tells her that it has sent and she will not send it again??? the Pharmacist Aeshia says OK? well what is she to do if she does not have it for the weekend and your office is closed. She finally gives approval via the phone to go ahead and fill it. I call the office to talk to my Dr as I felt this was so unprofessional to leave a patient waiting for days and to the last second. not him personally but his office manager. i was told that I could not talk to him he did not need to take or handle this problem. the same women refused to allow me to talk to the Dr. I will stay with Dr Gaffar as he has worked with me and is patient and after years of trying different medications for my blood pressure I think we have finally found it. I will suffer the rudeness of his office manager only to see him as he is a nice man. Sincerely, Kathleen Hyder
