I ordered the lemon zest hummus with pita, as well as a mixed berry lemonade, and two dessert empanadas. The hummus was definitely one of the best I've ever had. The citrus kick from the lemon kept it light, and it paired perfectly with the warm pita. The leftovers didn't even last a full day - my family ate the rest with an herb focaccia later on! It was really hot out, so the lemonade was super refreshing. I loved the blend of berries and that it wasn't two sweet. Both dessert empanadas were a hit too. I tried the pineapple and cheese as well as the caramel apple. They were crisp on the outside with tons of filling inside and absolutely delicious. The caramel apple was my favorite! Service was a little bit slower than I'm used to with a food truck, but everyone was very nice and the food came out perfectly so I'm not too bothered by it. They had a bunch more on their menu that I'd definitely want to try sometime!

First of all, I had no idea what kind of food they were serving up...turns out it's breakfast type things? From around the world? I'm still not sure I'm right on the concept, but whatever it was, it worked for me. We tried the Nasi-Lemak, a dish inspired by Singapore which was coconut rice, fried egg, chicken and sriracha. No complaints and the dish mixed together quite well. For ~$7 it was a bit steep considering the portion size, but they're new so I'm gonna give them time to get their pricing figured out. Next up, a paco - a pancake taco. They have sweet or savory options and I voted savory. We did skirt steak, egg, cheese and some sort of red tomato based sauce. Pretty good!! Tasted a bit like a McGriddle, but definitely upped their game with skirt steak. I think this was around ~$6 as well. All in all, I think they have a few kinks to work out with pricing, but food was quick to come out and I think they are a welcome addition to the food truck family.

I didn't try the oxtail because it was not something I ever ate before becoming vegan and my husband didn't really leave any for me to try anyways! I loved sitting in the window and people watching. First up thing I tried was one of the three Sushis rolls on the menu called, URSULA MOVED TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, it consisted of Vegan shrimp (made from heart of palm), sweet plantain, tofu cream cheese, cucumber, carrot & crispy onions drizzled with her secret island sauce. The fusion style sushi roll, was full of flavor, and had a good texture through out, was definitely one of my favorite things I tried, and I would definitely get it again and highly recommend it when you order from her, but it definitely left me curious to try some of her other fusion style rolls, I could actually imagine just ordering all 3 rolls and calling it a night. The next dish was a caribe classic, a CRABCAKE (made with heart of palm) served over Dominican-style mashed plantain with garlic & vegan butter and Crabcake, smothered in a house made cheesy garlic sauce & pickled cabbage, do I have to say more? The final plate was a bowl for the soul, THE DOMINI SOULFOOD PLATE, that consisted of Latin style fried chkn (made from mushrooms and jackfruit), mac & cheese, candied yams mixed with sweet plantain. The Chick'n was crunchy, and fried just right, she topped it with her special sauce, that really gives new meaning to special! I hope she starts selling It by the bottle, because it's so good! The mac & cheese was creamy and had a very good consistency. It was all complimented so well with candied yams and plantains that were the perfect sweet to go with the spice, an all around can't miss plate, highly recommended. If you have ate at the Caribe Vegan in the past, you already know the amount of love she puts into each dish, and if you have never got to try her before, here's your chance. Her new location is a beautiful event space, yoga studio and offers therapeutic massage as well (check for class times and appointment), it has lots of parking and a great zen garden to chill and enjoy your food, I definitely suggest stopping in, saying hi, and enjoying the food (it's ok to bring a few canned beverages, if that's your vibe). It was my first time ordering from them after following them on Instagram and seeing all the mouth watering food. My sister ordered the Caribe Burger, I ordered the Crab Cake Mofongo and the Fulana Made It because I could not decide on just one. The food is honestly delicious, very filling and portions are big.
