Hookups worked as expected. The main pro for us is the convenience of a place to stop for the night to break up a long drive with the RV. Cons: The property is in need of some basic maintenance. There are ruts in the driveways between sites making it inconvenient when towing a trailer/RV (It's somewhat understandable since the soil is sandy and taking the climate into consideration). There are some overgrown trees that hang that need to be trimmed so they don't hit the top of RVs, it can take some careful maneuvering to avoid them. Overall this KOA is a convenient, quiet and friendly place to stay overnight which are big factors that we appreciate.

One day we took an hour and a half trip up to Red Rock Canyon State Park (beautiful) and then on to Ridgecrest for lunch. We stopped at Indian Wells Brewery for refreshments and brewery stickers. You can also always check out Calico Mine Park for fun with kids and family near the KOA! Ask the front desk about the archery range. Fun for almost all ages between 8 and 80ish.

Right off the highway, you cannot miss this place - outside is a giant ice cream sundae structure that you can even see from afar. To take quick breaks, my husband and I stopped by here twice during our trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and back. Not only were we able to easily charge our vehicle, but we also got to check out the massive store, which has cool retro vibes. Considering the amount of people coming in and out from this place, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the restroom was. The restrooms seemed decently sized as well, so there weren't any ridiculously long lines. In addition, many come here for food and entertainment. There are a bunch of candies, snacks, and souvenirs for sale, along with food vendors, a small entertainment area, and a dedicated homemade ice cream bar. There are plenty of things to keep both kids and adults busy.

When I went inside the store, I felt the warmth of the staff. They are all polite and friendly, that includes the shoppers as well. I bought some snacks for the family for our 2 nights stay in LV (for the Bruno Mars Concert) The healthy snacks I bought almost got finished and we aren't even in our hotel room yet. The snacks I bought were all delicious and fresh. Anyway, on our way back to SD we stopped over again. I bought big packs of Macadamia nuts, cashew nuts, dried Kiwi, dried pineapple. I got addicted eating the nuts and the dried fruits; as of today, 'think there is only one serving left. I tried to check their website to check if I can order online, but it seems I can't. I was joking to my son if he can drive me there to get my favorite snacks (he laughed.) How I wish they can offer an online service. For those who are heading to Vegas, stop by to this place. I am recommending this place, it's a place where you can relax, and feel amazingly comfortable.

I had picked up a sheet with information on old Daggett from the Route 66 Museum in Barstow. Here's the short version. The original store burnt down in the Daggett fire of 1908. (the nearby buildings were also destroyed as well) But they rebuilt this place, and this became the first 'fire proof' building in the Mojave Desert. Fire proof due to the fact that the whole thing was re-built using a railroad carload of cement. (The roof too!) Back in the day, the place was one of few that exchanged gold dust and nuggets for cash that miners could spend. Later, in 1953, a safecracker got away with $1000.00 in gold dust and nuggets. But ya. Back over Columbus day weekend in 2017. I stopped in front of the place because it looked old. Then I read the paper and discovered it was actually old. Then I went in to buy a soda because it was kinda warm out. The guy behind the register was nice. The soda was cold. Boom. That's about how a convenience store run should be.

Upon entering the store the owner Joe made me feel comfortable with his warm greeting of welcome. For a small business they have good services and upon request will stock special items, such as favorite drinks or candy and snacks. You can rent a U-haul or car dolly. Pay your utility bill, send and receive money. Send small packages and even cash checks. So I suggest the next time your passing thru Daggett stop by Desert Market and say hello to Joe, Mic and Beckey. Dortha,

This attendant does not know Customer Service at all! No Hi, Welcome! How are you, nothing like that at all! Of course, he did not do it to my White American husband. Instead he allowed us to use the restroom without saying anything except with me, he said that the restroom for women is open and since he said it is open, I tried to access it by pushing it since I thought it is just stucked. And for sure! Since I am Asian, he said something about me breaking the door and that he does not want to Charge me $700 if I break the sensor. What a rude man! On top of that, he has been eating and Chewing while he is Helping Other people. Very unprofessional. He does not represent this gas station well. He is also being paranoid because he was asking about What I said to my husband regarding my father telling me that he needs to buy something first before he Can use the restroom. I felt threatened because he kept saying God bless you. He seemed a little bit off. I pray he does not cause any Other harm to others. He was also saying Oh in Los Angeles No restroom nothing for Free. We travel around the Globe even if we are asians. We probably traveled more than you did! Lol! I dont need treatment like that specially traveling long roads WE ARE ALL TIRED. This is suppose to be a rest stop. A restroom. Instead he gave me a MASSIVE HEADACHE and HEARTACHE! GRRRRR! I wish that this Will be taken Cared of. He needs some lesson to learn. He is lucky I am not the Owner of that location Or else...he Will lose his job on the spot with just one single call. Whatever your name is, you have been reported to the higher ups. You need to learn your lesson! 7/25/25 approx 5:40pm
