We came initially for Barkley when he was hurt badly after a dog sitter's neglect on 2/14/22. Dr. Hacai gave us referrals to Dr. Waters at East bay Vet Clinic. During these years we came initially for ER visits (during off hours) and they were very helpful. You get to go in the back with your dog and they are very good about telling you what is happening. Unfortunately, on 6/23/26 we didn't realize that this was the last time we would have with Barkley. They coordinated and confirmed the diagnosis and that there was nothing left to do. They put us a separate room and gave us all the time to say our goodbyes. They gave us paw prints and a lock of his hair to remember him. The staff have been good to us during our visits and we always knew we could rely on quality emergency care. We highly recommend Veg for pet owners who want the best care during the times you can't see your regular vet.

I've had to come here twice, once with one of my client's dog and the second time with my own. Both times I had very positive experiences. The vets are fantastic and extremely attentive. I was put in my own private room for the second one which helped ease the anxiety my dogs were feeling. They were kind and explained everything they were doing and gave me a price breakdown for everything. I strongly recommend!

Brought my cat Pearl here with a bad case of diarrhea and terrible weezing & loud muffled breathing from asthma I had Brought her to her usall vet a week or 2 before bringing her here she was put on unnecessary meds that were not needed and a wrong diagnosis. The Doctor and techs were so nice they were able to give me a proper diagnosis to the weezing which I was told was from an upper respiratory infection which wasn't the case they gave me a new medication for her tummy and her breathing my furbaby is progressing and finally starting to feel so much better a little pricey but definitely worth it Thank you for helping my Pearl. ....... Dr. Azagrar thoroughly examined her and reassured us that it was not a dog bite, but that the wound would require staples. He prescribed an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory, and I'm happy to say she's healing beautifully! There was a bit of a wait, but it was absolutely worth it because I knew my dog was in great hands. The care and compassion we received gave us so much peace of mind during a stressful situation. I highly recommend Dr. Azagrar and his team!

If you have an emergency with your pet, after hours, you better call before you go!…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experiences with Pet ER in East Setauket. We never got to see a Vet there for a couple of reasons. On August 20th, I had a life-threatening emergency with my beloved cat, Stache. At approximately 4:00 a.m., I went to this location expecting an emergency veterinary hospital to be available -- only to find that they were closed. I was then forced to drive elsewhere for emergency treatment, losing valuable time. Tragically, we lost our boy, Stache. I will never know whether getting him emergency veterinary care sooner would have changed the outcome, but I will always be left wondering. When your pet is in a medical crisis, every minute matters. If a facility advertises or represents itself in a way that leads pet owners to believe emergency care is available 24/7, people need to be able to rely on that information. Unfortunately, we had another upsetting experience today, October 5th. A cat in our neighborhood was struck by a car and desperately needed emergency treatment. We called the East Setauket location, and instead of feeling that the immediate concern was getting this injured animal help, the conversation seemed focused only on how payment was going to be handled. A rescue organization was willing to assist, but given the urgency of the situation, we ended the call and rushed the cat to another emergency veterinary hospital over 25 minutes away, where he is now receiving care. I understand that veterinary hospitals are businesses and that payment arrangements have to be addressed. However, when someone is calling about an animal that has just been hit by a car, compassion and helping that person understand how to get the animal immediate care should be at the forefront of the conversation. After what happened with Stache and now this second experience, I simply do not have confidence that I can rely on this facility during an emergency. Please, if you advertise or imply that you provide 24/7 emergency veterinary care, make sure that is actually what pet owners can expect. Families dealing with a critically ill or injured animal are already frightened and overwhelmed. They should not have to discover during an emergency that the facility they were counting on is closed. Losing Stache was devastating, and knowing that I arrived at an emergency veterinary facility in the middle of the night only to find it closed is something I will never forget.

Over time it lost its warm, personal feeling due to corporate changes, but we stayed because our dogs' records were there. This review is about the experience we had on the day we brought our dog Bella to be put down and we can never walk into that place again. We rescued her from Texas, and after 11 years she became very sick quickly. After many tests, we learned she had extremely high blood pressure and neurological issues. She lost her vision, did not recognize us, , and could barely walk. We knew it was time. In the past, euthanasia there was peaceful. I would go in the room say my emotional goodbyes due to the fact I am not able to watch anyone I love die . My husband stayed with our dogs and it was quick and calm. This time Bella was taken out of the room, and my husband was not allowed to go with her. He asked twice and was told no, without explanation. While I waited, I heard Bella start screaming, yelping, and crying in pain. I became hysterical. Bella had always had a severe issue with her paws being touched, something that should have been known. My husband always held her during procedures. We were never told they would try to place an IV, and Dr. Chin later said he attempted it six times. He described her as fighting due to neurological issues, but that was simply how Bella always reacted. If my husband had been there, this could have been avoided. No dog should be separated from their owners in their final moments, and no owner should have to sit and listen to their pet in distress. Putting a dog down is hard enough but always was a peaceful, calm process, and this was a nightmare . A week later I met with Dr. Chin, hoping for compassion and answers, especially why Tom was not allowed to be with her and why he was not told where they were going and what they were doing. Instead, after pouring my heart out he was very defensive, denied Tom asked to go with her, and told me to see a grief counselor. I already have, but they cannot help me process what I heard. While I was listening to Bella screaming I was hysterical and not one person in that office comforted me or said a word to me. I am writing this to warn other pet owners at that final moment to know exactly what will happen and never leave your pet alone at the end. We thought we understood the simple process based on past peaceful experiences, but this was very different. I am still dealing with this every day and cannot talk about Bella without crying about the way she died and how I listened to her screaming and wasn't able to do anything for her . When I returned for Bella's ashes, a staff member named Jenn showed genuine compassion. She hugged me, cried with me, and walked me to my car. The world needs more people like her. I would really prefer not reading what the owner has to say. I certainly feel that a phone call from him would show some real feelings .
