I had a low battery alert to my phone for my smoke detector. Called Vector, they came out THE SAME DAY TO CHANGE IT!! That's what I call SERVICE!! The best I've had in a long while! The tech asked if I was interested in cameras; took a measurement of my WiFi signal; and was able to installation driveway camera WILE HE WAS HERE!! And it wasn't too expensive! Very friendly and knowledgeable! The Vector tech really took care of my system!! read more

Absolutely horrible. After being a customer for over 18 1/2 years, we have requested cancellation of our monitoring service. We gave them a chance to offer us a solution to remove the necessary wired phone line. They only offered us an option to pay $200 for a cellular communicator and then significantly INCREASE our monthly monitoring charge plus start again on a 3 year contract. Who would agree to this? 18 1/2 years as a customer isn't enough? To stay as a customer of their monitoring service we would now need to start all over on another 3 year contract. Is that reasonable? So we had to cancel, but Vector will not process it. When we called they said we had to email to cancel. When we emailed, they responded we had to call. What kind of company behaves this way? You can read other customer reviews here on yelp. Vector isn't even responding to these customer issues shown on Yelp. What does that tell you? Is that how a reputable organization behaves? We have now filed a Better Business Bureau complaint to get our billing stopped and the service cancelled. Should this be necessary to cancel a simple monitoring service after being a customer for 18 1/2 years? read more

Only one star because you can't leave zero. Our system hasn't worked in 9+ months. Getting customer service to respond is a total nightmare, AND STAFF ARE RUDE AND ARGUMENTATIVE. Can never get a quick appointment so your left with no security system for weeks and weeks. Technicians show up without the required equipment and/or install it wrong. So frustrated because Vector wasn't living up to their contract that we got SafeTouch to come quote us and are canceling Vector. But even canceling is a problem with them. Representative told us we had to pay for an additional more months - or they would send us to collection! And after complaining and canceling our service we got a "past due" notice from Vector DESPITE the fact that they auto deducted $85.95 from our bank account every month including 11/22, 12/22 and 1/23. While the letter says call 1-800-832-8671 if we believe the dunning notice was sent in error, repeated attempts to reach the accounting department loop us back to the main menu. This Company is a mess, and the timing of the letter is suspicious because it came right after an employee threatened to ruin our credit because we were canceling due to repeated failure for Vector to properly service our account. The fact that this big national company can take your $$ monthly, claim you didn't pay, not let you reach anyone to discuss their error and possibly negatively impact your credit is unconscionable! Stay away from Company at all costs if you want a working security system and to be treated respectfully when calling for service. read more

Wish I could place a view with negative stars!! My dad had this service which was subpar. He originally used this company beginning in 2011. He called and cancelled a few months ago...started receiving bills (even though verbally cancelled). I was helping my dad with his bills, he is elderly, and saw a collection bill from a collection firm. Little did we know that even though he verbally cancelled, you MUST put the cancellation request in writing. No one even told him when he called. So...long story is really crappy to do to anyone, much less an elderly person. The right thing to do would be to tell that person on the phone that he must put it in writing!! I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND A COMPANY WHO OPERATES THIS WAY??!! read more

Kevin (Vector Tech.) saved the day for me and is keeping me as a customer for longer. Had Kevin come by my house to troubleshoot some of the cameras on my Eero network. Kevin was very patient and took the time to call Eero customer support and have them change some settings so that my cameras could now be connected on the main network. He did a great job! This is the worst security company I have ever worked with in my 20+ years. They do not respond to emails or phone calls, their service technicians are terrible and are never able to fix a problem without returning 3-4 times. Dispatch is a joke; when there is an emergency they do not respond in a timely manner. Example, technician was here yesterday for 5 minutes & said he fixed the issue. We had the SAME issue this morning with our alarm automatically arming; was told someone can't be here until Monday. MONDAY... SERIOUSLY! Do not EVER use this company, I have no idea how they are still in business. read more

I joined the certified company many many years ago then vector took over. I haven't had as good of luck with them. They just seem money hungry. Any little problem I have with the system they want to immediately charge when certified helped. The rates keep rising and the service is diminishing. I changed out my front door and tripped the sensor for tampering there was only a few phone calls made a no follow up. I just received a phone call today that they are upgrading from 3G to 5G and they want to charge me a $99 fee to come out and upgrade my system. My mom had the same problem and Adt came out and did it for free. I asked them if they could waive it and the manager said no I would have to sign up for another three year contract. I've been with this system for 15 years... loyalty apparently means nothing. read more

The worst company. It was a long battle in canceling their service because their equipment was faulty, wasn't compatible with updated cellphones and they could never get it right. The company representatives were verbally abusive and threatening. We had to finally get an attorney to seemingly force this company to remove their negligent and hostility of our credit report. read more

New home and tried testing my home monitored alarm system yesterday for the first time. Set the alarm off and no one called. Police never arrived. Called Vector and the lady said she could see the log where the alarm had gone off, but could offer no reasons or solutions on why we were not called. Better go with a national brand if you really want security and protection. UPDATE: Rep from Vector called and said he would send a tech out to bring the system up to standards. Tech arrived on time and worked diligently to fix system. After reprogramming, all features work now. Would have given 5 stars if it had worked right initially. read more

You know it is bad when you have to purchase Ring.com monitor because you don't trust the system. Actually, I'm all fairness the system is good, but their is a big disconnect between the service department and scheduling and they just won't return calls. We have had multiple issues, called and they said "we called you back and left a voice mail...". Right now....our indicator shows garage door open when it is closed.....(long term issue). Can't trust is because if you attempt to close it with the app, it now shows closed, but the door is open. Wife had to leave hospital while son in surgery because, you just can't trust system. Also our "automated" house system is a joke....we have lights or thermostat....(not a error) I meant "OR". They only way they could get the thermostat to work was disconnect the light.....not the way it's supposed to work, however we are still being charged the "full rate" Customer service is a contradiction from terms and when you do talk to service techs they range from very helpful, but their hands are tied to condescending tone. We have moved and I called to cancel the monitoring of our old house. First of all, I had to get my husband on the phone to allow them to talk to me because the account was in my husband's name. Then we had to fill out a form, my husband had to sign it and then scan it to return back to them. A few hours later, the neighbor at our old home called to tell us that a man had come to our old house and left a business card. He was from Vector Security. So I guess that they did not want to let our business go. If we get an alarm company to monitor our new home, it will not be with Vector Security. If your alarm goes off, they never call. This company is a joke. They sent out a local AC company to install their fancy thermostat that we could use to adjust the temperature using our cellphones. Turns out the thermostat was faulty. This created a temperature/humidity difference in our house and then they refused to answer any of our attempts to reach out to them to solve the problem. read more
