But once you enter, it has a lovely reception area with multiple meeting rooms. This place is ideal for gatherings of less than 100 people as it creates an open and welcoming space that is conducive to social connections. The staff was professional and friendly - very service oriented. Another plus is car parking is free and plentiful in front of the entrance. Finally, the location in Glen Allen provides easy access to the interstate highway (I-64) and Route 250.

Near the entrance they usually serve some drink or food with tables up front then near the back they'll have a very intimate performance space. There is plenty of free street parking nearby. This is located in Scott's Addition. It can also be used as an affordable wedding venue. I love the bathrooms here. They are fully stocked with thoughtful things like hair ties and floss. They have a women and men restroom. I last went for a WRIR fundraiser that was incredible. They opened one of the garage doors for a food truck to serve food from. I love the way the space is divided so you can have room for dancing/music as well as sitting down. I'd recommend hosting an event here.

I have attended numerous dinners, receptions, and seminars here, including UR's Last Lecture Series, a reading and talk with poet and author Junot Diaz, a capital campaign fundraising banquet, and recognition ceremonies such as Lavender Graduation and the Jepson School of Leadership graduation luncheon. The Alumni Center features two conference rooms, a seminar room, library, grand ballroom with outdoor terrace, dining room, and Bottomley House overnight accommodations. The catering and events staff that serves the venue is exceptional, and everything is beautiful and well managed. I look forward to my next visit, which may be my upcoming alumni reunion.

Great Spot to Hang Out & Chill…read more Conex RVA and RVA - River City Smash Burger offer a unique and beautiful venue with plenty of space to bring friends and family and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. The atmosphere is one of the highlights, with an excellent selection of craft beers and some great cocktails to complement the experience. On the food side, expect straightforward smash burgers and street food--nothing overly fancy, but satisfying and fitting for the casual vibe. Overpriced for the quality of meat and serving. Service can be a bit hit or miss, especially when the venue gets crowded, so don't expect the same level of attention during peak times. Parking can be a challenge if you visit on weekends. Remain resilient. Overall, it's a great place to hang out, have a few drinks, enjoy some casual food, and chill with good company.

I don't have enough good things to say about this place!!…read more I flew from Texas as a bridesmaids in one of my good friends weddings. I have never seen a venue like this in my life. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! First off it's HUGE, and second off, they used every inch of it to make it a unique stunning wedding venue. I was so blown away the first time I saw it I swear to you I about cried. The staff. THE. STAFF. YALL. OH MY WORD!!! Like nothing I have ever witnessed in my life. When we left hair and make up to start that way, the bride (and us) were so stressed I literally thought I was going to vomit. But the minute we walked in we hear more "how can I help you" 's than you could ever imagine. WE DIDN'T EVEN DO A REHEARSAL, but the staff was so calm and amazing at telling us what to do, we didn't need one. The staff worked around the clock at this wedding. I was a guest at Sunset Cove on 07/10/2026, and my experience with the manager, Tabitha, was…read moreextremely disappointing. The property appeared to be having the grass cut that day, but there were no signs or parking instructions posted. Multiple vehicles were parked on the grass, and several cars, including mine, ended up blocked in. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Tabitha walked around the pool yelling for the driver of a white Toyota Camry. I drive a white Toyota Corolla, so I didn't think she was referring to my vehicle. She continued calling out "Camry" for several minutes before eventually shouting the license plate number and saying the vehicle would be towed. That's when I realized she was actually talking about my car. I calmly explained that the confusion was caused by her repeatedly identifying the wrong make of vehicle. Rather than acknowledging the misunderstanding, she was rude and dismissive. She told me that if I didn't agree with her, I could leave the pool. Mistakes happen, but the way this situation was handled was completely unprofessional. A simple correction or apology would have resolved the issue. Instead, I was met with poor customer service and an unnecessarily hostile attitude. I hope Sunset Cove addresses how situations like this are handled in the future and expects a higher standard of professionalism from its management.

My coworker, whose wedding we attended, blocked rooms out at the Holiday Inn on Midlothian Turnpike near Johnston-Willis Hospital just a few minutes away. The home dates back to the mid to late 1800s with a barn nearby. The wedding we attended yesterday had the ceremony in the barn. It was truly a special place with light filtering in through cracks in the wood. After the ceremony the guests made their way over to the reception area on the far side of the house. A tent connects with the house, allowing guests to travel back and forth under cover, which was important yesterday as there was a bit of rain. There are beautiful grounds including a gazebo and a fire pit. The staff was very attentive and the food was great. There were about 190 people at this wedding and it never felt crowded. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

We could not view the wedding ceremony because their wedding venue is in the top of a barn with wooden steps as the only access. No elevator! We waited in the reception tent instead. During the reception, my wife needed to go to the rest room. We discovered that there is no wheelchair access to the house where the restrooms are and the restrooms themselves will not accommodate a wheelchair. We had to carry my wife up the stairs to the bathroom. When I asked the owner if he'd consider putting in a wheelchair ramp, he copped an attitude and said "Ain't gonna happen", "It's never been a problem until now." If you have anyone in your family with functional needs or are elderly and need wheelchairs or walkers, I'd AVOID this place since the owner doesn't see the need to meet ADA compliance standards. UPDATE - They now have wheelchair access to the main house.
