Well... I wish that I could select Elizabeth Everett, NP, from a list on here but I will write this review because she does represent the Vista Community Clinic, though this review is about her. I have NEVER had anywhere NEAR this level of care from ANY-WHERE-ELSE! I would write this entire review in cap locks if that wouldn't interfere with the reception of my integrity as a reviewer but ANYWAYS, I have been going through an extremely, almost unbearable series of difficulties lately. Emotional, physical, financial, and personal; sometimes I wonder why I have been burdened with these trials and tribulations, cosmically speaking, and it seems to go beyond my comprehension at times. But if I didn't have Elizabeth providing my medical Primary Care right now, I can't and don't want to imagine what my situation would be like and what I would do. Because while my challenges are diverse and severe, there are solutions available, and for EVERY SINGLE medical one I need, she is there for. She's astute, compassionate, experienced, and has provided a level of care that surpasses any and every form I have ever received from anyone else. I truly believe that if everyone on this planet had care like this, that the world would be a better and different sort of place. Because my medical conditions are serious; they scare me at times. But having a PCP like this honestly gives me the relief and comfort of knowing that I'm in the most capable hands that I could ever be in. She makes doctors I've had in the past look and seem like rookies and imposters, and does it with a sense of grace. I truly wish that everyone had care like the care I recieve from her, because people would be happier, healthier, and probably a lot nicer. At a time in my life when I've needed the BEST care, and this time is PIVOTAL- I believe that the universe loves me because I got her. If she goes anywhere else, I will be following her, because I NEVER WANT ANOTHER PCP. I scheduled an appointment for chest pain instead of immediately going to the hospital, believing it could potentially be something minor. My appointment was canceled by VCC's nursing staff only 15 minutes beforehand. Canceling a same-day appointment for a patient presenting with chest pain demonstrates a serious lack of urgency and professionalism. This is not acceptable. I am now at the hospital receiving appropriate and timely care. read more

The nurses are always very nice and professional. You are seen very quickly and are not kept waiting. I have had the pleasure of having Guillermo as my nurse. He is kind and understanding. He remembers me from past visits and recalls details about my health and my family. I am , also, very pleased and grateful that Dr. Dao is my primary doctor. For over a month, I have been trying to obtain my medical records, which are crucial for my personal injury case. Unfortunately, the staff at VCC Medical Records has repeatedly made mistakes and has shown little concern for my situation, even mocking my frustrations. It is disheartening to think that donor contributions intended for a good cause may be supporting employees who do not take their responsibilities seriously or consider the impact of their actions on individuals like me. I still do not have my proper records. They seem to struggle with managing PDFs, understanding PDF resolution, and organizing documents in chronological order. If a PDF is unsearchable, it is clear that the documents need to be arranged properly. Additionally, I was told by someone who evidently does not take her job seriously that she created the PDF and if I couldn't read it, it was my problem. read more

A few months ago I scheduled a dentist appointment The appointment date was today at noon At 9 I got a call from the facility. They were cancelling my appointment They claimed I had already had a cleaning less than three months ago My dentist approved four cleanings a year Last cleaning was 2025. I get four in 2026. Today's would have been my first. I had confirmed this when I made the appointment months ago I spoke to a supervisor she was rude and unprofessional, and would not honor the appointment In the end, they've lost a valuable patient As the patient of this facility, I see their chiropractors, their dentist, their ophthalmologist, and their primary care physician as well as their podiatrist Because of this Manager's unprofessionalism, they will no longer be seeing my business. I've already contacted my assurance company and I'm in the process of changing doctors. If VCC is reading this, she should understand as a patient. I can choose any doctor or any office to go to. If you want to keep people's business you have to go above and beyond. You have to be professional This is not the first time you've canceled an appointment an hour or two prior to appointment time I've had appointments canceled when I was five minutes away from the office. This was simply the last straw. Yes, I'll be seeing them the rest of this month and possibly next month until my insurance can make the switch, but I will no longer settle for second best. read more

I received care for my first born here in 2019 and this location has since stepped it up in every area. I am now blessed to have this staff guiding me on my second pregnancy. Dr. Dieterich(MD) and Ruth Jimenez (CPHW) have been wonderful. I appreciate their help on every routine appointment where they go above and beyond for my needs. I am forever grateful that I have them throughout this journey. I can also speak for the Women's Center Reception team, they are quick to check you in and always call for reminders and follow ups. I was devastated when I lost my primary care physician of 18 years due to an Ins contract change. After many attempts to find another IPA I settled on VCC at Valle Terrace. I found a wonderful NP , Stephanie Kirkland who had the best bedside manner, was so knowledgeable and really took an interest in my concerns. I might add that the front office staff in Family Medicine was very helpful in getting me checked in and answering any questions I might have. I am so thankful I chose this clinic. Hello I've been trying to make an appointment for about three months now. Whenever I call I told there are no more appointments for the rest of the year, but what I can do is call on the days I'm free and we can go from there. When I was told that I didn't believe her so a few days later I called back a was able to get an appointment but my pass 3 appointments have been canceled day of like less then 10 mins before I take medication daily .. well I used too but for for the pass three I haven't. I've been helped here with everything from Neurology to Behavioral health and I gotta say this has always been the "GO TO" for me! They're very polite and quick. I like the "Patient Portal" that I can log into and see all my blood works as well as appointment schedule. I can also request refills on medication if I'm out before my next visit. Care quality is while in waiting room is acceptable as furniture is sanitary and comfortable. I've received full care assistance with Medi-Cal and my primary care physician makes things easy with referrals. It's been over 10 years now and I haven't found a reason to go elsewhere. read more

If you are scheduled with Josue Leon M.D for a prenatal visit , I highly recommend that you call the scheduling department back and ask for a different provider . That was the worst appointment I have had in my life . There was no bedside manner , not even an ounce of compassion from him or his medical assistant after I received devastating news about my pregnancy. There was no explanation of what to expect after returning home with this news , or how to care for my self after . I left their office bawling and not a single one of the office staff thought to say a word . Sent meds to wrong pharmacy AGAIN. repeatedly I check with them and verify they have the correct place. Again they messed up. Every time they do this. Incompetence. People are nice but it was such an odd end to a visit. No info in the three medications my daughter was told to use. No name, no amount, no directions. Also they recorded her weight and not her height and had a long list of 'orders' so I asked because I like to know what she's being prescribed, she's only 10 and if something isn't necessary (like how drs love to prescribe antibiotics to viral infections) then I'd like to advocate for my daughter. They no longer print or give that info. No info on meds prescribed to my 10 yr old. Was told to Just go to Walgreens to get them, (and be surprised I guess?). Exit paperwork had "a diet ordered" and it said "Dr talked with us about it." And "counseling discussed". None of this happened. Lady said all forms say that. It automatically goes on every patient's chart. What? Why? Looking more on the paperwork it's got a lot of things we never discussed. It was a very short visit. Was told they're a 50/50 chance she should take antibiotics. Because it's either viral or bacterial. No way to tell. What about a swab or test to see. Let's avoid needless antibiotics please. Dr agreed that way too often people are prescribed antibiotics and said fine to wait and see. And have prescription just in case. I appreciate her candidness. Lady that came after was nice but didn't know what med, how much or why it said my daughter needs a diet. Diet won't make you less tall. She's 98% in weight but she's also 98% in height. Her endocrinologist said that's great a couple months ago. Lady said that's just what prints. It goes in her chart exactly. I don't like all this goes in my daughter's chart. She doesn't need to read she needs a diet at 10 when her height and weight balances each other. I need to just wait for her regular Dr to be available for visits at a different location. This location has made way too many changes and now adds way too many things to people's charts. read more

Bad customer service I wasn't able to see a provider because I was 4 minutes late and it's was up to the provider cause the front desk girl said she needed to ask the provider if she could still see me after having me waited for 10 minutes. Just to tell me that she couldn't see me. I kindly ask to please ask again cause I'm handicap I have a broke ankle I couldn't walk and she denied to ask and said that it's a policy she refused the service on top of that she gave me a stared and roll her eyes on me I told her that was rude and disrespectful and I left. Il start off with the pros -staff is friendly , for the most part -it's clean Now to the cons.. -impossible to get someone on the phone -I did a stool test and they lost it , so they never sent it in for testing -the NP who called me was giggling on the phone and putting me on hold repeatedly to laugh with her co workers -took 3 weeks to get me a referral and when they finally did, it was to the wrong doctor ...... -the breaking point for me was when they called me and told me they found something wrong with my test results and then they scheduled me with a specialist, just to call me day before and cancel my appointment and gave me the runaround on re booking me (mind you this is for something serious) Overall I didn't feel like they were professional or cared about my health, so I ended up switching medical groups to get FAR AWAY from them. 1/10 would not recommend unless you have no other option. read more

TRUST THOSE WHO YELP REGULARLY... Wow! You have GOT to read this entire post. This is terrible at it's finest. Staff is clueless, management figuratively walking in circles, and my time, like many others, is wasted. I spoke with VCC yesterday, confirmed my appointment, received a text confirming the appointment (in writing), and showed up today at my appointment time. Upon arriving, I'm told my "appointment" is a "standby" for any cancelations. ...Skipping excess details... I ask to speak with the office manager, who eventually sees me, is very nice, and proceeds to tell me it's a new system they are working through. I suggested removing the text confirmations until it's ready. I asked her if any cancellations had been made, since I had already made the 1 hour round-trip trek... she said "no," and that afternoons are usually busier, so she didn't expect any cancellations today. I left, sat in my car for 2 minutes, when I received a call that they did have a cancellation... right now. No business of any kind, whether expanding (like VCC) or not, supporting rich or poor, or staying open by the hair on their chinny-chin-chin should have uneducated staff, unaccessible resources, or non-operational systems. Of course, I went straight back inside, then waited 20 minutes + for the appointment. They finally called me up to reception to tell me the wait would be another 30 minutes. Community clinics should NOT be an exception... all health care providers should spend the money they make to have a properly functioning unit. I've spent 30 years in Business Development... I might know a thing or two that could help. Oh, and they have signs (everywhere) stating that "masks are required in this facility," yet nobody was wearing a mask, except for me; not even staff. Do NOT engage with VCC. Push your insurance to send you elsewhere. read more

I arrived early for my appointment at Vista Community Clinic like they ask, checked in, and was told to wait in the exam room. I ended up sitting there for over an hour with no updates or explanation. What made it worse was hearing the staff in the hallway laughing, chatting, and talking about completely unrelated things instead of helping patients. It felt like they had no sense of urgency or professionalism. If patients are expected to be on time, the same should apply to the clinic. This was incredibly frustrating and a waste of my time. I chose Dr. Besong as my PCP a few years ago and she started out fine. Then when I was having trouble with pain which lasted 2-3 months when I called the clinic to speak with her she was always unavailable. So the staff had me speak to someone else, usually a nurse practitioner. This went on for quite some time and eventually a Dr by the name of Dr Lee (sp) spoke with me and diagnosed me with diverticulitis and said the best way to treat it is antibiotics . I could barely understand her bc when I asked her what she was eating she said it was her snack, nuts. i do want to state that from the beginning, from the first phone call I was diagnosed over the phone only, there was never a physical exam done. When I asked for dr. Lee to give me a Rx she refused and kept repeating "you're not a Dr." I have never claimed to be a Dr nor have I ever tried to diagnose myself. This Dr just went off the rails. She then repeatedly kept telling me to just go to the ER and I should call my primary. So coincidentally when I called my primary i was told she had no appointments available, ever. It doesnt take much to figure out that bc I gave Dr Lee pushback now Dr Besong would not see me. I struggled With horrendous pain for months thinking my primary would help. Needless to say I was forced to go to the ER where they took care of me. Plus I dumped Besong and the VCC clinic. Why am I paying for insurance only to be sent to the ER?!?! Very petty, unprofessional, unacceptable behavior from the drs. read more
