Karaoke Epoc - Don't be scared to wander through the manga! Karaoke is at the back of Adanami Shobo (the bookshop)

Oh my goodness! I can't believe no-one has reviewed the epic Karaoke Epoc yet!!…read more When I was a student, I was never completely convinced that this place existed. I had vague drunken memories of stumbling into a manga shop and finding a mini-Japan style Karaoke box...I must have been here quite a few times with different groups of Japanese friends. However I could never find it again when I was sober. *blushes* Karaoke Epoc is hidden at the back of Adanami Shobo (the Japanese Manga/ book shop on Brewer street.) If you have never been there before, it can be a teeny bit tricky to find...look out for a 'De-lux Cleaning' sign to find the shop. This is one of the least posh karaoke places in London. The decor is a little old/scabby looking...but it is also brilliant! I'll tell you why: - We booked the huuuge room downstairs, and had more than enough room for all 16 of us. There was even enough room for us to dance around the table as well!! - They have teeny 4-6 people rooms upstairs if you have a smaller group. - There was a fridge in the corner, so we brought drinks and kept them cool in there. - The remote control is like a mini computer...you can search by song title or by artist. Ask for help if you can't read Japanese. - There is a decent Japanese/Korean/Chinese selection of songs as well as all the old English favorites. Oooh and a whole page of disney songs!! (^^) - It is really cheap, especially if you go early and have a large group of singing friends. Last night I paid £11 for three hours. I'm not the only on that loves this place!! Make sure you book in advance as it is nearly always booked up.

This is definitely the best karaoke in central London. I loved the simple set out rooms, that they…read morehave a digital book to select songs and also a paper one, the music quality and that the songs had awesome cheesy video instead of just a boring blue background, that you bring your own food and drink, and, bonus, a competitive price. When I come to London I always like doing karaoke with my friends, this now the only place I want to do it at. P.s. If you need to get some booze when you're there, go out of the front door and go left down the street, take the first right and there's a shop just there.

As i am someone who drinks real ale it has to be said that there are not that many places in Hadlow…read morethat do a good job for a good price. Though there are other pubs they are more expensive (with one never having any real ale at all!) The Two Brewers is located in the heart of Hadlow itself. a short walk up form the shops and you can't miss the place! Those that know their real ale pubs and companies will automatically know one thing from the outside- that this is a Harvey's pub. Upon walking through the doors you turn right into what you would think to be a small bar. Quite the opposite in fact! The owners, Chris and Sue Snape will immediately give you a warm welcome (as will Molly, the pub dog!) The pub itself reminds me of the traditional pubs- the way a pub should be. Let's be honest now, most pubs these days have gotten a little carried away with the deco! The Two Brewers however has achieved something that, pub wise at least, is hard to achieve: remain traditonal but still have that clean fresh look to it. The local's are friendly and very easy to talk to and the pub has nice easy atmosphere to go with it. What is suprising is the amount of beers avaliable- a minimum of two beers on pump at any point (all Harveys, naturally!) with many more bottled beers behind the bar. Make no mistake about it, half the village now come here and its no suprise why! the beers average at around a reasonable £2.90 for the average beer. Remember though that prices will vary according to strength (ABV) but that's how most pubs operate. Foodwise The Two Brewers do a good menu at a reasonable price. The menu changes from time to time, of course and the food is cooked well. The best thing to do is ask at the bar of course! All in all The Two Brewers is a well run pub, with Chris and Sue running a tight ship. I can see this being the busiest pub in Hadlow for a long while to come!

What more could you want from your local? Chris and Sue have given us great beer, superb food,…read morewonderful friendly atmosphere, pub games and a liberal attitude towards closing time! And I haven't even mentioned Molly the pub's resident poodle who is just adorable. A perfect place to come and unwind.

Everyone has that friend who always wants to do karaoke. Well, ladies and gents, that friend is me,…read moreso it comes as no surprise that I suggested karaoke as a kickoff to a farewell/birthday celebration. You will have a good time here. While the song list may not measure up to the "million songs" claimed by Lucky Voice, every song that we wanted to sing was available. Freddie Mercury would be proud. We were put in the top floor room, surely a space converted for karaoke use rather than built for it. We had more space than we knew what to do with and I will admit that I've never sang karaoke when it was light out (well maybe in the morning hours). But, there is a large room downstairs that I spotted en route to the toilet that had a group of 30 karoke kids belting out classics. Always a good sign. Another point of interest - this is not purely a karaoke venue, but is a restaurant as well. On that point, I will say that I probably would steer clear of eating there. No, it's not because the food is dodgy - in fact the pizza was quite good - but because you can still hear the karaoke. Despite being the biggest proponent of bad singing in karaoke, even I would feel like I was closing in on the nearest circle of hell if I sat down to eat and had to listen to a Britney Spears rendition that makes Rebecca Black sound good (feel the burn). But we were there for karaoke, so no bones here. Sorry for partying. I'd also like to add that drinks, while still expensive (£4.50 for a shot of Jameson - that's all I remember) are not the worst karaoke drink prices around. It is also relatively cheap to rent rooms at £4 per person per hour (Sun-Wed but a bit more on weekends). For best deal, bring 15+ people and everyone wang chung tonight. I'd also like to put forth that the venue is 18+, unlike other popular venues that are 21+. I think this is a crucial point given that London, in general, is 18+. Lastly, the staff are extremely friendly and abiding, which just makes the experience that much better. While we rented out the space for 2 hours, we were told that it was no big deal if we went a bit over since it was a light night. I like that. And I will go back because of it. Anyone keen?

Oooh this place is fun!!…read more My friends brought me here for a night of karaoke-joy, and it was brilliant!! The room we had was huge, with plenty of space for dancing and being silly...drinks seemed to appear whenever we needed them (I have a feeling jager bombs were involved...but to be honest I'm not sure, my memory is a bit hazy...) However, it must be a truly awful place to come and eat, surely it'd be horrible to listen to the loud karaoke-singers from downstairs?? Our singing space was on the third floor, so there was a whole floor between us and the diners...but we were pretty loud. Oops. ***I have lots of amazing photos of this place, but I'm not going to post any of them because I have a feeling my friend's would kill me! We all look like mad dancing idiots!!***

Oh hiya Matthew. Tonight I'm gonna be... MORRISSEY! yeah! Seriously...!…read more Whoop! Get your ear plugs in folks (actually you don't need them I have been locked in my own padded booth), this place is where my fantasies have come true. Sort of. For those of you (like me) who when has heard the word 'karaoke' has instantly pictured fat middle-aged people with sun-burnt flab, warbling and jiggling about in an awful 'english pub' in benidorm, think again! Times have changed people. Us swarve, edgy types can now reclaim it! Lucky voice is a bar and karaoke venue. A posh one. The interior is all leather padded this and funky wunky that. But here's the good bit. You can pay by the hour (very reasonable as well) for you're very own leather padded booth. In this booth, you will be served drinks, cocktails, wine, anything. And then you will drink your drink, raid the fancy dress box (I know! - so exciting!) pick your song and belt it out like the true star you are. Plenty of songs and artists to choose from I believe they regularly update it, our funniest time was when we all chose to rap to Eminem and some wise guy of our group filmed and posted it everywhere... It was more like a crazy limerick of made up words - good toimes! I would say it could hold up to 5 or 6 people comfortably, and you get a couple of mic's. Cannot WAIT to take my Nana next week! Watch this space people, one day I could hit the charts!

I really enjoyed lucky voice, we went in spontaneously after a few drinks and had such a fun time…read more It was £5 for an hours worth of singing, which wasn't enough after we go into it. We may have got a bit carried away with the air guitars and the group sing alongs. The only two negatives I have about my experience was that I had previously been too Slam star, and they had a larger selection of songs. Which was great for me as I like alternative rock music. I found lucky voice quite limited in comparison. Also, I don't know if it's just me but I like a slight backing vocals to a track so I can properly time myself, where I felt like it was all me and it made me feel a little self conscious. It's not the worst thing in the world but it did hinder my experience ever so slightly. Apart from that, I had such a good time singing my little heart out.
