Highly Recommended! Excellent Service and Fair Pricing…read more South Florida Ducts came highly recommended by a friend. Knowing how particular and discerning she is, I was confident that the company had to be excellent--and I was absolutely right! They replaced the ductwork in my upstairs after rodents had chewed through it. The two technicians spent approximately five hours at my home, and they did an outstanding job. Once the work was completed, they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, leaving virtually no evidence that they had even been there. Before hiring South Florida Ducts, I obtained an estimate from another A/C contractor. I found that quote to be excessively high, so I decided to get a second opinion. South Florida Ducts provided an estimate that I considered reasonable and fair. Even better, the final cost did not increase as the work progressed! In my experience, with contract work, it is not unusual for unexpected issues to arise and the cost to increase along the way. I was therefore particularly impressed that South Florida Ducts honored its original estimate without adding unexpected charges. Based on the quality of their workmanship, their professionalism, their attention to cleanliness, and their fair pricing, I would highly recommend South Florida Ducts to anyone needing ductwork services. It is refreshing to find a company that delivers excellent work without unpleasant surprises!

We used SFD over the course of 3 years to maintain our two air handlers and condensers. The…read moretechnicians were always on time and courteous and our air conditioners generally ran and performed well. Then the compressor in one of our 9-year-old condensers failed. Two technicians from other companies noticed the condensation bulb in the air handler was removed and said that was a big no-no that could have contributed to the unit failing. (I'm not saying it did since there's no way to know but it was certainly disturbing to hear that). When I asked SFD about this, they they either never noticed it or just missed it and that it wasn't that big of a deal. That was a little disappointing to hear because we paid hundreds of dollars for their bi-annual maintenance plan and they had just inspected the units although this time they sent a less experienced tech. They also gave us conflicting information about whether the other (working) air handler needed to be cleaned or not. I liked these guys a lot and trusted them but ultimately there were too many red flags and so they lost our business.

Because the work was completed in less than 30 minutes I expected to pay the $79 service charge however, Ricardo the owner of the company, charged me $120. I used Cool Moon AC because they showed up the same day, they didn't charge me extra for weekends and they didn't try to over sell me parts and labor that I didn't need.

My boyfriend and I had a terrible experience from start to finish. I would strongly urge anyone…read moreconsidering Florida Clean Air Plus to look elsewhere. What started as a routine AC maintenance visit turned into a nightmare. The original techs who came out seemed competent and told us our unit needed to be replaced, which we accepted. The office then quoted us $7,600 for a new unit, and we agreed. During scheduling with Victor, we were very clear about two things: we wanted the same techs back, and we needed them to bring plastic and tarping to protect our apartment. We reminded them about this multiple times. On install day, none of that happened, thanks to Victor's lack of communication. Different techs showed up with no plastic or tarping and had to leave to get it. Then, partway through the install, we noticed the new compressor looked drastically smaller than every other unit in our building. We flagged it to the tech, and only then did he realize it was the wrong type of unit entirely. The office had misquoted us on a unit that wouldn't even work for our apartment. Their fix? A new quote of $12,000. After a lot of pushing back on our end, they brought it down to $8,600 -- still more than we originally agreed to, for a mistake that was entirely theirs. Julie, the office manager, told us we were the ones who provided the incorrect information on the unit needed (not true), despite their tech servicing our unit and communicating the type of new unit to the office. We are not professionals in HVAC. They are supposed to be. Julie also refused to let us speak with anyone above her. Meanwhile, they had already drained the freon from our existing unit and refused to put it back while we waited for the correct unit to come in (we had to call and tell them they left us with no freon -- why would they bother to communicate any solution to us?). We were left without AC for an entire day. Their solution was to either come after business hours for our building (not possible) or give us a portable AC unit that couldn't come close to cooling our apartment. The next day, the correct unit arrived -- but of course, they didn't bring the thermostat we had specifically requested during scheduling (where they told us we could have any thermostat we wanted). When we offered to go buy the thermostat we actually wanted, the office refused to install anything we provided, despite never telling us they didn't have ours and just giving us whatever they had in stock. Again, zero communication. After haggling, they eventually agreed to install ours at no additional cost. Throughout all of this, the office repeatedly told us they'd "make it right" and "make us happy," all while telling us things that weren't true at every turn. This is a deeply untrustworthy company.
