I had a new A/C unit installed in Dec 2024. It's been working fine until recently when I ran into some issues. Scheduling a service appointment was frustrating. They assign you a block (9a-12p). The day of the appt there's zero communication (unless you call), I ended up having 3 appointments. The first technician arrived on time but apparently, he just did a band aid job. I never met the 2nd tech because he didn't show up. And the last technician was late, but I was told he was the most experienced of them all and worth the wait. His name is Xavier, and he was great. I appreciated his friendliness, knowledge, and how he walked me through the issue. The a/c was restored to its full potential, for now. No, no, no. This company is completely unprofessional. They left air conditioner parts and trash all over the roof. There were metal shards falling from the roof on to balconies. And they trespassed on to private property, and used a knife to try to open a woman's locked gate. And the person who hired them says that the AC doesn't work, and they won't answer her calls. Customer Service needs training. On Sunday around noon, I went to the website and submitted my information to receive a quote for an AC inspection/Duct cleaning/standard maintenance. At 11:10pm I received two missed calls from this company. WHY are you calling your customers at 11:10pm on a Sunday night? This is extremely unprofessional. This afternoon (monday) I decided to give them a shot and called the 877 number to see about scheduling a service. The woman that answered is interrogating me asking if I need an inspection OR a duct cleaning. I begin to tell her that I am not sure, as its just been a few years that I have had it serviced and they are the experts and should be the ones to tell me after they come out for an estimate exactly what I need. It was a very frustrating call because she is asking me why I think I need my ac serviced? I am not the expert but I keep telling her it's just been a few years that I have had them come out and before the hot Florida summer months start I just want to mitigate any potential issues. She then tells me she will schedule someone to come out and tells me it will be $189 - then I tell her I see a coupon on the site and its $89 for an inspection, however cant someone just come out to SEE what I need and then provide me a quote? Top Notch Knowledgeable Service. Sean was very knowledgeable and professional . He was able to quickly diagnose and rectify our situation . Sean determined that there was a leak in the coil and all of the refrigerant leaked out. After we assessed the situation and looked at the costs for running the existing air-conditioning system; we decided to go forward with replacing the system with one that is more efficient. Sean waived the cost of the service for today which would happen over $419 for the Freon and for the leak test. Our old AC system was very expensive to run. That puts them ahead of many contractors in Miami... - They were able to schedule to come to my condo the next day--which was a Satuday; and it seemed like same-day service was not out of the question. - I gave them my building's phone number, and they made sure to send the insurance certificates. In other words, they have the insurance that many buildings require, and they DON'T force you to act as a go-between making sure their paperwork gets to your condo's office. - They called 30 minutes beforehand, and showed up in the timeframe they quoted. - Anthony was very professional, and he was obviously knowledgeable about all the possible causes of the problem. This wasn't just a lucky guess. - He took photos for my records, in case I needed them for my landlord, and made a video showing me how I might prevent the problem in the future. - The pricing for each aspect of the work performed was fixed in advance, and displayed for me on a tablet. I thought the price was very reasonable. In my previous experience, I have had to call AC repair companies more than once, to fix the same problem. They will frequently show up for the service call, drain something to justify the visit... And leave before the AC has had a chance to begin cooling... Low and behold: the AC never does cool down, and it is necessary to call someone back to find the true cause of the problem. At the other end of the spectrum, of course, is the knee-jerk response: you need a new compressor... What a relief, then, when Cool Air solved the problem in less than 24 hours! read more

I had a Nest thermostat installed by Hellotech that wasn't compatible with my AC unit; thus, didn't work. I was left without AC overnight and for a large portion of the next day. When I realized Hellotech had zero sense of urgency (24-48 hours to have tech support reach out to me to schedule a follow-up visit) to help me and fix the problem, I knew I was in trouble. Charged me $200 for a permit to be pulled (which I wanted) but never pulled it! it wasnt until my unit was acting up after 6mo of being put in. I called them to ask for my permit number because there was no way this job passed. I was told they could not find it. Guess what they never pulled it so after a year I had to force them to pull it. They went around the laws and had another company pull the permit for their job. Which I guess is ok. the installed our new unit knowing the existing duct work was not the right size and never said a word. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. I called Cool Air USA on Thursday afternoon. I explained that my ac was still not working, even though I had just replaced the capacitor. I further described how the ac fan was behaving erratically. They made me wait until Friday for a technician. The tec did nothing to the unit because he was able to tell me, by my description alone, that the fan motor needed to be replaced. He did not have the motor on stock, the part stores were closed, and I would have to wait for at least 4 nights without an AC, with my home temperature at 90 degrees. If that was not enough, Cool Air USA wanted $450.00 dollars to simply replace a fan motor UNDER WARRANTY. Obviously, I did not hire them to do such an easy job. Their response was that they had to pick up the parts and process the documentation. This should not be so hard when technology, internet, and the abundance of ac supply stores nearby. I called another company that did not charge me for an assessment visit. My total cost to replace the part under warranty, PLUS the regular yearly maintenance check-up was $185.00. COOL AIR USA would have charged an additional fee for the yearly maintenance. I asked the Cool Air USA manager if the company could apply the $79.00 fee towards an actual service, such as an annual check-up, he refused. I do not believe I should have to pay for being left without AC for so long and for NO SERVICE RENDERED. Every other ac company gives you a free quote. I believe Cool Air USA provided me with a disservice, I used them once in the past, but I will never do it again. read more

(Ha) From the moment I sent a message through Yelp that was promptly replied to, to the SUPER helpful tech that came out I was repeatedly overly pleased with this company. Most companies on Yelp mention you get a free estimate, but they don't clarify that they only give you a free estimate if you're looking for a new HVAC unit. Cool Air USA came to my home, diagnosed my issue - over the course of three hours - and charged me NOTHING! The tech that came out (Junior) was great, he called me when he was on his way, was super helpful in explaining the issue, and giving me real world advice on the best course to take. He didn't want to leave until he had gotten to the bottom of the issue - which I really appreciated. They came out a second day to actually do the repair, were within the window they stated.
