We had a light dinner of three small plates and wine outside on their seating on the Octagon. Our three small plates (paua fritters, prawn steamed buns, and lamb spring rolls) were all good, but the outstanding and most memorable dish was the Paua fritters. My husband and I both thought that they were great! Definitely try them. Service was quick and friendly. read more

Have been quite a few times, mostly with work groups as it's convenient and large enough for groups. On the plus side the food is pretty good. The service is hilariously bad. There are lots of rules like no bar service, you can't go in without being escorted by staff, and you get told off for breaking them (even if you don't know them). Table service only for drinks but you'll be lucky if you get any. Be prepared for long waits and being treated like an inconvenience to the staff. read more

The cuisine is quite a fusion, offering interesting Western inspired mains, and Oriental inspired starters. The Korean fried chicken with gochujang sauce was okay, not quite the crispy texture expected for Korean fried chicken. The lamb spring rolls had a peppery sauce and was good. The starter of the day available was a pork and coriander wonton with a chilli lime sauce which had an inconsistent wrapper texture. Their sticky beef wontons come in threes, but an additional one can be ordered, to make it easily shared between two persons. I found this to be the best starter we had. The sauce was a creamy contrast to the wontons, and provided a good twist in flavour. Lastly, it's a great place to unwind and have a few drinks. read more

Vault 21 is the go to expensive restaurant in New Zealand. If your parents/ best friend's mom is visiting, definitely take them here as it is likely you can get a free meal out of them. My favorites are the pumpkin curry and any other curries on the menu. I am a big curry guy. After dinner hours Vault 21 sneakily turns into a club. It looks fun but I have yet to be let in because I was wearing my Birkenstocks which scared the bouncers I guess. read more

We are on a cruise and two ships came into dock on the same day. Made things quite exciting. We had a private tour from a Scottish gentleman who recommended we try this out. OMG! If you are in the area, this is THE place. Great food. Might take a bit to get service if there are two ships in dock, but the staff is clearly dedicated to some serious quality! My kids DEVOURED their fries. I had the prawns and failed to take a pic for this review. Safe to say, these are wonderful people with an incredible menu, who will do their very best to make your visit incredible. As reported by others the paua fritters were very tasty. We also ordered the lamb bruschetta. The bread wasn't toasted very well so it got soggy sitting on the plate. We were just there for a snack but the menu had a lot of variety and the portions seemed adequate. read more

My husband and I travel a lot. We love Asian Fusion and we're excited to try this restaurant. The menu looked pretty good, so we ordered a few small plates. Well, we were very disappointed. Flavors were bland and food was far from fresh. There was one exception, that was the seared venison. Probably would rate it 4 stars. We did enjoy great service and friendly staff. Kudos to our waitress, she was the highlight of the evening. read more
