Variety Shop has quite the variety of items. I originally came in for knee high socks for the winter and have found so many treasures since then like gift bags, mesh laundry bags, makeup remover wipes, random fix it yourself supplies, etc. There's a big section of clothes and undergarments in the back for older folks. If you have kids, there's a selection of hair accessories and cute things for them to browse while you shop. The merch is always changing, so it's fun to pop in to see what's new. The man who owns the shop is nice and he is willing to help search for things if you ask him. read more

BEST STORE EVER!! (FOR GIRLS ONLY) This place have everything you need for parties and raves!! The store literally has a variety of things that you can buy. I came a cross this store a year ago, and I can't help but buy something whenever I am in the area. Everything you find here is super cheap. The eye lashes here are only $1.39 a set w/o the cover. But most eye lashes are only $1.99, and their eye lashes are pretty nice. They also have cute stockings/socks which cost $3.50. It's the same quality you find at Party City, but it cost more like $10 there (almost triple the price). They also carry make up, wigs, and a few costumes for halloween. Their make up is fair price, they have a variety of eye shadows, lip gloss, glitter, etc. If you're a girl, you can spend good amount of time in this store checking all the makeup out. For guys, not so much. My boyfriend hates it whenever I am in this store because I spend at least 30 minutes looking around. So if you're bringing your boyfriend in this store or a guy friend, make sure they are patient. There is really no customer service in this store, only the cashier. So if you need to find something, you'll just have to hunt it down and look around. Overall, happy that I found this shop!! The store is not that small, descent size. They sell clothes too in the very back of the store but pretty old fashion/outdated clothes, unless you want to dress like a granny/grandpa then go head and buy the clothes here. There is so much stuff in this store, i cannot list them all, you just need to come here and check it out yourself. Oh yeah, they do accept credit card but I think it is at least $10 minimum. I LOVE THIS PLACE!! GREAT PLACE TO CREATE A CHEAP COSTUME! read more

Unfortunately I will no longer be shopping here. The older lady who works here is very sweet and always makes me feel welcome. However when she's not there it's a different story. Today was the last straw for me. I felt very unwelcome shopping here and strongly believe it's because I'm a Black woman. Any intelligent person could notice the context clues and see I'm not a thief (dressed neatly and stylishly, I'm polite and make eye contact). Even worse today I was wearing my work apron (for crafting not cooking) , making it very obvious I work in the area. I try to treat every person who comes into the store I work in, with a genuine greeting, and respect, regardless of race. If you really suspect someone is stealing (use your brain look at context clues OTHER than skintone) there are ways to dissuade without following them around or talking about them. It's unfortunate because I enjoyed this store, even sending friends from school or customers from my shop that way. I definitely won't be doing that any longer. read more

This place is the best, and I hope it sticks around for many more years. I've been coming to this place since I was a kid. Back then I used to go here for stationary goods, but now they place is a one stop beauty, accessory, and other odds and ends shop. They don't joke around when they say it's a variety shop. If you're into lashes look no further, you can find them for a good price here, and its all high quality. I would buy my glue somewhere else though. Anything you need, they even have house wear, tools, batteries, lighters, clothing, and lingerie. It's a great place to shop for gifts as well. Keep in mind that if you pay cash you can avoid the extra fee vs using debit card. The guy that runs and owns the place is super down to earth, and is frills free. Support your local variety shop! read more

So happy they're open again! My go to place to get everything I need and everything I don't need. Great items for "stocking stuffers" and everyday essentials, especially for makeup/accessory junkies. PLUS! There's Dim-sum across the street read more

LASHES FOR DAYZ BABY! Came across this gem because one of my aunties recommended it and boy do they have a large selection of wispies, double stacked, and more! For $1-$3 you've got yourself a single pair of lashes. Lucky enough I was able to grab enough pairs for my sis and me. Aside from their lashes, they also have cosmetic products (NYX & LA girl), clothing, and accessories. Can't wait to come back to stock up for more! read more

Variety Shop - All for $38! - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - San Francisco, California

I love Variety Shop so much! Where else can you find 5,349 eyelashes all around two dollars a piece? NYX cosmetics? Butt padding? Boob padding? Suitcases? Socks? Flowers for your hair? Sparkly rhinestone earrings that blind passersby? Nail polish? Messenger Bags? Monster hats? I LOVE YOU SO MUCH VARIETY SHOP. Never change. read more

The male owner of this store is too perfunctory and shirks his work, so that customers cannot get the goods they want.

I've been shopping here for years and the variety keeps me coming back! Part beauty supply store, part accessory shop, 100% unique. Don't you hate that feeling when you're craving something and you go to the store to look for it and there are 2-3 options max? Well, whatever it is you're looking for, you'll find a multitude of them here. Notable finds (that are beyond worth it): - beauty blender dupes for under $4 - stick on bras (good quality ones) - as everyone has mentioned--lashes! I've tried the creme and the red cherry brands and I find them to be of similar quality - thigh highs and tights I always wondered how the shop owners decided to start their own beauty heaven. However that happened, I'm so glad they did, because there's really nowhere else like it in the Bay! read more

False eyelash heaven!!! 5 stars for the great selection of false lashes! I posted a picture of a few that I picked up (I actually stocked up on way more :P) The cheapest pair is $1.39. They carry other brands like red cherry, creme & more for less than $2! Seriously can't get any cheaper than that! If it's your first time here, expect to get lost in the "variety" of whozits & whatzits galore. This is a great one stop shop for affordable accessories (makeup, stockings, socks, jewelry, hats, etc) Also don't forget to bring cash, as they have a minimum charge on debit/credit. read more

Variety Shop - Lashes for $1.39! - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - San Francisco, California

I used to find loads of things in here I loved but lately not so much. Either my tastes have changed too dramatically or I have all the trashy makeup, tights and knee high socks that I need. I do adore the man who works there though; he is always helpful when asked. read more

Agreed! Yelp, change the settings because this place is open once more! I visited it on 10/22/2019 with fingers crossed and found them in business again! I honestly only really go here for lashes (#1s!) but it's fun to look around and see what else they have. So glad they are still around! read more

Large variety of NYC brand makeup items plus makeup brushes, eyelashes, lipsticks, and the like. I just recently started getting interested in learning how to put on makeup a bit differently than I had been doing for years so this was a good place to get some starter products and experiment before I might decide to buy more expensive makeup elsewhere. Plus lots of jeggngs (Jeans/leggings), socks, stretchy bras, hair clips, etc. I always find myself being in there a lot longer checking out everything than I think I am going to be. read more

Cheap lashes, dingy little Chinese store. I love it. GIVE ME MOAAARR. SF needs more little gems like this :) Come here for your $1.99 lash fill. Yes, they're not ardell but I promise they're just as good. Plenty metered parking around as well. Love! read more

I have been coming to this store for close to 20 years. Its a go to place for cheap lashes and Asian products.

This is my forever go-to for beauty & costume essentials. If you're a fan of cosplay, or even just love dressing up for Halloween, this place is the spot. Everything is priced at an inexpensive number. But quality is still good. I looove how they sell nyx makeup here. I come here for everything makeup and feminine-essential. I also come here instead of the spirit Halloween store. The stockings and leggings are more than half off of the ones you'll find at any Halloween store. Also, ladies who love their lashes, this place has a pleather of them at a price you can't pass up: 1.50-5 ! read more

This place has E-V-E-R-T-H-I-N-G! I walked out with a bunch of toiletries, NYX makeups and knick knacks for my office. They have simple undergarments, scarves, makeup, cell phone accessories, jewelry, hair accessories, and so much more! I can get lost for hours in here. read more

Variety Shop - Storefront - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - San Francisco, California

This is one of my favorite shops in San Francisco and I think in a quirky way it kind of is a Hidden Gem! I've been going to their shop since I was a little girl and have always loved the "variety" of things that they have. They have everything from false eyelashes to socks to tights, to plain backbacks, to jewelry, scarves, and right now they have a lot of Barack memorabilia. The owners are really nice and they're happy to help you. I just got some new jewelry there and I can't wait to wear it. Before my trip to Uganda I went here to stock up on tee shirts, pants, and plain socks. I get everything here. It's also really nice to support this store and not the big department stores like Target or Walmart and to put money back into local businesses into our own communities. One of my New Year's resolution is to not use Amazon anymore and to shop more locally and this is a great place to do so. I hope this place stays around forever. Definitely a local spot. read more

I've been going to their store (old location) since I was a kid. It's a great place to find those miscellaneous things that are good quality and decent price. Now that they have a bigger store here (which is a few blocks away from their old place by chase bank), there's even more goodies to find. Personally, I love coming to this place for knee socks, nail polish, a strip of colored hair extension, hair accessories (no matter how expensive it is, damn claw clips break pretty easily over time, so getting cheap ones that last about a year or so is awesome to me), and the occasional random accessory (earrring, necklace, scarf). read more

This little shop is my go-to place for affordable makeup from smaller brands as well as lashes and other miscellaneous items like flip flops, scarves, socks, skin care tools. Would definitely recommend if you don't want to pay shipping for red cherry lashes online! read more

This place has quite the "variety" of knick knacks from makeup and costume jewelry, to phone accessories and socks, and everything in between. All at a great price. I was in the area on vacation, and was unprepared for the windy SF weather. Got a great waterproof windbreaker for only 26 bucks, and it kept me so warm. Great quality too! Worth taking a look around if you're in the area. read more

Super cheap nyx and la girl cosmetics. my friend gets her lashes here, apparently its a really good deal. Dudes that work here are chill. They let me browse foreeeever and never got sketched out by me and my big jacket lol Lots of cheap kids toys, stationary, clothes, accessories. read more

This store.... Is just like its name. You will get such a variety coming here. My boyfriend actually found this store for me via yelp and I'm so thankful! I've already shared it with friends. It's great to come in here and see several brands of makeup and eyelashes as well as jewelry and other beauty products! I come here strictly for that but they also sell clothes, bags, lingerie! It's kind of like a bunch of flea market vendors all packed into this store selling everything under the sun but really specializing in beauty! You will find all the inexpensive rants and raves of some of your favorite beauty gurus in this store. I can't leave without spending at least $30. Those $2 lashes add up but it's worth it. Parking can be kind of a pain sometimes but there's always something eventually! read more

So many cool things!! You literally want to buy all the useless crap there just cause it's so cheap and they have like everything you could possibly think of. read more

Whenever I come to San Francisco, I always try to make a trip to this store. As a MUA I love coming here to stock up on eyelashes (red cherry 1.99 if you buy more than 4 pairs) and they have a large variety of NYX too! Such a fun place to look around and grab a cute pair of fishnets! read more

I love coming here to buy my falsies. ($2? yes please) They have a good amount of lashes to choose from, and they also sell NYX.

Secret Hiding Place for a lot of my beauty purchases. Where else will you find good quality eyelashes at $1.99 a pair when you buy 4 or more. read more

I come here strictly for the lashes and some NYX products. My recent visit was lead to disappointment as I found that they are no longer selling red cherry lashes, but cherry blossom. Although both are common brands among the manufacturers for lashes, I opt for red cherry because there is a significant difference in terms of the quality. I noticed that the cherry blossom brand is a bit flimsy and not as thick. read more

Has a lot of makeup and I'm a newbie to makeup so this is a great store for me. It also had a lot of accessories. However the guy of the cashier forgot the price of one of the products I was going to by and I had to tell him. But I didn't mind much though. read more
