I hired Varelas Concrete to put in my stamped concrete patio. They did complete the job satisfactorily, not fantastic, but ok. My biggest issue is just prior to completion Araceli arrived and had them measure the patio and said it looked too big. She then said I owed an additional $812 because there was more square footage than was in the contract. The crew still had a few hours of work to do building a seating wall and two pillars, and I got the inclination that if I didn't pay, she would have pulled the crew and left the job unfinished. I foolishly paid her the extra amount because I wanted it completed, and I mistakenly trusted her. I didn't feel that the square footage was over the contract amount, especially since she was the one who painted it out when we first got the estimate. I measured the finished patio using two different methods of calculation and found it to actually be slightly smaller than the original contracted square footage. I wasn't worried about that difference, but the additional charge was certainly inappropriate. I texted her to which she initially replied, but I asked if we could have a conversation about it instead of texting. I asked to her to call the next day at her convenience and wished her a good evening. She never returned my calls, or texts from that point on to discuss the discrepancy like an adult. I highly recommend that you stay away from this company due to the poor communication and business practices of Araceli. The guys were pleasant while on the job, but the leadership is very unprofessional. She owes me $812 and refuses to communicate despite me being very polite and professional and wanting to discuss the matter like adults. read more

Do NOT use this company!! After signing a contract and paying thousands of dollars, they failed to install our patio correctly, and after failing to repair it, won't refund my money. When I went to file a small claims suit, I learned that this company was involuntarily dissolved in 2018, yet is still operating as if they were a legal business. FRAUD. read more

We wanted to have an old paver patio and replace it, making it much larger. After several calls to get them to come out to measure and coat, they finally came more than a week later. They measured and gave us catalogs to look at and told us they would email a quote. That was almost two weeks ago and even after several attempts to call them we do not have a quote. We have resumed our search for a contractor but now the prices are sky high and lead times out to almost mid summer. We have no intention of using these folks if we can't get satisfactory service prior to the finalizing the order. read more

I find online reviews quite useful when researching service companies because without referrals as a homeowner its a gamble.... no one wants to risk having one of these nightmare experience. We I see a bad reviews I honestly think could it have been so bad to take the extra time to post it. After this experience I understand why other take the time to share. I am sure we dogged one of those potential nightmare experiences. This company is one of the most unprofessional I have come in contact with for some quite some time. They made and never so up for 2 estimate appt. even after asking several specific questioning to insure the price would be worth their inquiry. I should have followed my gut because of the initial difficulty getting a return all to schedule an est. Then upon my final inquiry to ask for the reason for the no show I was told "I must have been confused because no appt. was sched. So I told them how unprofessional of and experience this has been. Following the inept female who sched. the appt called back in a attempt to get the last word as if it was my fault they are unorganized. Ridiculous. When their peak season slows they will wish they had jobs to book. We have had 2 other companies provide quotes who are just as busy. If I could leave no stars or negative stars that would be more appropriate for this review and business. My wife and I started to search for someone to seal our patio last summer and came upon this business. We contacted them and the time frame and fee seemed reasonable. They came last June to clean and seal our stamped concrete patio. About a month after the seal was applied, bubbles started to appear and we contacted them about this. They blamed it on a new type of sealer that they were having to use because of a product being outlawed so they came out and sprayed xylene to take care of the bubbles. Well the bubbles went away for about a month and they reappeared and we went back-and-forth two more times to have this resolved. After winter had ended our patio was wrecked. It was much lighter in color and was flaking off. We contacted them about this again and they came out and power sprayed and this white film that was partially removed is now on our siding,our bushes, our rock and patio furniture. And it's very difficult to remove from any surface. When we contacted them about this they immediately placed the blame on us that we applied something to the patio to make it this way and still to this day that is their stance. We are coming up on almost a year of this and it's still not resolved. And I also failed to mention that they rarely ever pick up the phone or schedule actual set appointment times for the work to be done, they just show up and proceed to leave their equipment all over your yard. I would in no way shape or form recommend this business to anyone for any type of work. read more

I recently used Varelas Concrete for a my patio, fire pit and sidewalk, I could not be more satisfied with there work, everything looks impeccable. My husband and I had been hunting around for a concrete company since last year and finally decided for Varelas Concrete because off the work they had done in my sub division. They are the worst. Very Undependable, my biggest complaint is Araceli never calls you back and even worse, she's a liar. Our patio was very costly and from the start it was flaking. Yes they came to resealed and fix the flaking, only after months of trying to get them back, but they never even cleaned the patio, just sealed over the old coating and then charged my $534.00 .Now I have bubbles and blisters on the patio which they told my husband that they came back to take care of , but they lied about that too. When I got home all I found was my personal stuff stolen and my new outside fire table ruined and blisters all over the patio. They didn't care when I called. When they get their money the owners could care less about anything else.. Take my advise, don't hire these people, they are not truthful, and will cause you problems and headaches. one more thing, They sprayed sealant on my fire table cover, but did agreed to pay for it, I guess that's one good thing. However, they came and stoled it from my yard before I got the new one and never even called me to tell me they were taking it. It rained all day on my new table, without the cover and ruined the gas lines. It was a mess, read more
