Mind you his counter staff person was the one who told my grandson he could bring back the unopened unused bag and return it. I would not buy anything there that has a possibility of needing to be returned because he does not give receipts or returns. Unfortunately, it's the principle thistime and I feel some issues like mine should have been handled better when I brought this to attention. I have gone to the battery world in vestal 3 times to get a battery and all times left satisfied and trusted I got good service, but NOT this time and I am disappointed in the service, disappointed in the response from the owner.  I brought my truck in for abattery replacement and 3 weeks later my truck was not starting up right with the NEW battery. I checked under the hood to find out the issue was they replaced my original battery set-up parts with a different side post terminal that was too short, wrong size and left the cable nut barely holding the cable on-to the battery. Any good experienced auto service technician would have known this seen this and correctly fix it and would have known leaving it the my cable mount this way would not work well in a moving vehicle later and in time. I really dislike when any auto shop like battery world would leave doing a bad job like this and choking-it-up to the customer will never know what we did. this is the fact of what it is.  I called and brought this matter to the manager's attention. He remembered me coming in to purchase a battery, remembers the installation and blaming ware and tear and NOT the real issue of a incorect part was used in place megshift the job. His reply has left me NOT convincing. It Cost me 10 bucks to get the RIGHT part at the auto store, something they could have gone to get and to do a good job from the start. Personally my original part was in good shape and I feel the technician lost the part, dropped it in the motor compartment and? because I have done that and you need to look for it.  Businesses have to be put on account, ifyou find you don't carry the right parts for every installation, to do theright job, the right thing and let the customer know and try to make it RIGHTthen tell me instead and make it RIGHT and NOT do the shabby work.As far as I am concerned, the customerservice they used to offer has eroded. It is unfortunate because I prefer toshop and go to small businesses to give my business to them, but my experiencethis last time with battery world has given me a different perspectivewhether to do business with them again or having to recheck their workbefore leaving.

I really don't think this place is reputable, or at least not competent. I bought a big-ticket…read moreitem here and was told that since it was a medical device there would be no sales tax. Only after the delivery people left did I scrutinize the receipt and discover I had been charged $200 in sales tax. I called a different local medical supply place to make sure I hadn't been dreaming when thinking there would no tax on this device. They assured me there would not be. So I had to get back to Penn-York to have them refund the sales tax. "Gee, I can't imagine how you ended up being charged sales tax," my sales person eventually told me. I would guess either incompetence, or a hope that I would not question the sales tax, thinking I had misheard this, and everyone there could go out to dinner with that $200. He blamed it all on a computer glitch. I'd almost be willing to pay $200 just for the courtesy of not being yelled at when I called to point out that mistake. "I bill is wrong. I got charged more than I was supposed to..." I began. "I told you! If you paid with a credit card it would be an additional 3.5%!" my salesman yelled before I could explain the situation. "No, I was charged tax. I'm almost certain you told me that there would not be any tax because it was medical device." "There is no way you were charged tax!" "Well, I'm looking at my receipt, and there is a box labeled 'sales tax' and that box has $200 in it.'" Then there was some run around where first I'd get a refund check, then I was told they couldn't do that--the money would be refunded back to my credit card--and then it went back to sending me a check. At one point in the conversation I said something like, "Well, before you erroneously added $200 to my bill for tax..." and the lady I was talking to said, "How dare you say we did that erroneously! It was a simple error!" I had to say, "Lady, the word 'erroneously' means 'in error'." Gee, get an SAT review book and start studying some vocabulary words. Take my advice.
