I forget the guy's name who runs the shop there, sorry dude! Me and my girl are from LA and stopped in here. We usually stop at a local vape store whenever we go on vacation to try and pick up some locally made juices with local flavor profiles. Vapor Bar carries a number of really solid high quality juice lines. They also carry two separate lines of Hawaiian made juice (one in Hilo, one in Mauai I think). So we picked up the juices we wanted and everything was all good. Me and the guy talked shop for a bit. They carry some nice mods and attys (both clone and authentic), with average prices for a B&M. He gave us a little deal on a few bottles of juice so that was cool. Apparently they're doubling the size of their floor space soon so that should be helpful. We visited two other vape shops here in Hilo and I have to say this place blew the other two out of the water, ESPECIALLY in the friendliness of the owner compared to the other two shops. He actually seemed interested in shooting the shit for a bit and knew a lot about the products he is selling. They are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all things vaping. The products. Vapor Bar carries a good selection of juice and hardware. They have choice gear as well as budget friendly options for beginners or those not willing to shell out for the choice stuff. The juice selection is high quality and well stocked. They also carry all the tools and supplies needed to rebuild your rig. Their batteries and chargers are also quality. The service. The Vapor Bar staff are honest and informative. They cater towards YOUR needs and do not push products just to make a buck. They will inform you on what will work, how it will work and offer a variety of options. They do not bog you down with tech and nomenclature but are fully able to do so if you prefer that level of geeky. They also offer build services and can troubleshoot a variety of vape based issues. All of the staff i have dealt with (Ben, Kevin and Quincy) are skilled and knowledgeable. I have felt stoked with all my purchases (Aspire Subohm+Thunderstorm, Asmodus Mod+Alliance RDA, Sigelei temp control 150w+Thunderstorm). They also will set up your rig and send you home with a working unit. The Shop. When you first walk in, the place is so full of vape that it reminds me of the caterpillar scene from Alice in Wonderland. The shop sports comfy couches, a running flat screen and a sample bar. The samples are what keep me coming back regularly. I sample something new every time (Bring your RDA!). The dimly lit setting may be a bit daunting to the faint at heart but the friendly staff quickly dispel this. The location. The only downside is the parallel parking. I personally do not mind parallel parking but I will note it is not as convenient as a normal lot. The shop is located in town on Kinoole Street. It is located before downtown so you won't have to deal with one way streets or battling for parking space. Their hours are also convenient. The prices. The Prices are competitive and better than other shops in town. They also offer a number of incentive programs and discounts. They even have comparable prices to amazon or other online venues on many items. I am all for supporting local over internet sales. Vapor Bar makes this choice easy. Visting from san diego with my girl friend. I was smoking cigs then i had a little hiccup and got sick so her cousin took me to the vapor bar and Kevin hooked it up with a sweet box mod and a twisted messes atomizer thing chucks like a beaut defiantly recommend the vapor bar to anyone who lives in or visits Hilo. It was just a weird and unpleasant experience, although I've nothing in this realm yet to compare it to being a 100% vape virgin. Maybe it's the whole 'bar' scene that threw me off, but I will say who helped me could have been a lot more of a people person and helpful. It was almost more like I was talking to a bouncer at the front door of a VIP club. Yet, everyone in the club didn't have enough liquor in them to loosen up a little and stop trying to act so important, or something. Maybe I'm too Puna, a generation off, and am used to chain smoking with straight shots of hards in my hand...in a bar. It was just weird. It;s more like a 2.5 star review, but could've been more had who helped me seemed more...helpful. He didn't try to sell me the universe in a tube or anything, he was just not customer service-oriented.
