Friendly and helpful service. Betty listened to my needs and came through with beautiful arrangements.

It's prom season again! I will look no further than Hilo Floral Designs for our prom needs. Placing an order is easy over the phone. The prices are reasonable and definitely worth every penny. When it's time to pick up, my order is always ready on time. This is the 3rd corsage that I've bought from Hilo Floral Designs. As you can see, it's fresh and beautifully made! My sister used it for her "Night To Shine" prom event. She felt like a princess. read more

Bad customer service, the lady that helped me was the owner and being a small business she was very unprofessional.

Great service and a lovely floral arrangement. Will definitely use again when in Hilo.

This is a weird one. Let me say that the product delivered was nice and they delivered quickly. They also called to confirm delivery. However, all that being said, Floral Mart is by far lower cost and dont charge for delivery, Kui & I is known to be great BUT both were closed for vacation! This left Floral Designs as one of the only ones open. I will never forget this order.... It went like this: I would like to have flowers delivered. The answer: "where"? I was confused.... The "where" was in a low voice and sounded irritable. I had to ask if I had the correct number and was told yes. Next was so perplexing..... I asked what they have and they told me what do you want? I said roses and sunflowers.... As soon as I said that they said it would be expensive. Starting at $65 and also that they would charge $10 for delivery. I said fine.... OK. So I said OK around $75 for delivery - fine. After that the voice sounded more mellow and not as questioning however what followed was a long series of questions - maybe it was normal but it felt and sounded so long and drawn out.... Full name, delivery address, card number, CCV number, home address, phone number etc.... All valid but this was just a weird phone call. Once all the interrogation was done, they did deliver the flowers in a timely fashion. After delivery they did call back and it was weird. The low voice was back but right at the end, the low voice change to a higher one that was much more pleasant. I would use the higher voice personally because the low one makes me not want to come back. I am still irritated by that low voice. And I am from Hilo!!!! This was very unpleasant although it makes for good conversation later. The low voice just told me - stay away - dont bother me unless you have money. read more

My mother is buried at Alae Cemetery, and I am in California. My "go-to" florist closed a year or so ago, so I tried a few other florists in the Hilo area to create floral arrangements for my mother's grave. I stopped looking once I dealt with Hilo Floral Designs. Their arrangements are lovely, they take into account the weather at the time (since the flowers will be outside), and they always manage to sneak in my mother's favorite flower. I appreciate the kind customer service that they provide for a long-distance customer. I always receive a photograph of the arrangement on my mother's grave, and I have been pleased every time. I really have been thankful for Hilo Floral Designs. read more

I wanted to send my mom some flowers for Mother's Day but I'm on Oahu so I called Hilo Floral Designs and asked if they could still deliver even though I was calling on Monday. They said no problem and the flowers would be delivered on Thursday. I left it up to them for the design and gave them a price range to work with, $80 and that my mom likes red. They delivered on Thursday as promised and my mom called to let me know how much she enjoyed them and that they were beautiful. I asked her to take a picture so I could see what she received. The people who took my order where friendly and helpful. I'll definitely use them again for future orders! read more

I absolutely recommend this floral shop! I placed an online order on a holiday and was fortunate they had stopped into the shop that morning and checked their orders. They called me right away and shared that they did not have access to many of the flowers that were part of my arrangement; not to mention they were not open that day and the delivery (for a funeral) was at 9:00am the following day. However, they assured me that could put together a similar arrangement using flowers they had on hand as well as deliver on time (did I mention they were not even open the previous day?). What they presented was beautiful and surpassed my expectations. I am so thankful for their professionalism and their efforts to allow me to show my love from so far away. Thank you very much to all of those who assisted me - your work is spectacular and I appreciate the extra effort you made on a holiday to help comfort a family during their time of loss. It's advertised that they take phone orders but no one answered. Called their store and talked to a grumpy s lady. Another time I stopped there to buy a vase and must've spoke to the same grumpy lady. Never going back there ever again. She should just retire if she's not happy with what she does. No aloha. read more

Absolutely recommend this florist for their beautiful and fresh arrangements. They were customized a gorgeous bouquet to my budget and handled delivery with care. Jaime took my order and talked me through some flower choices. She also made sure to ask if certain flowers were okay to use in the arrangement for the occasion, a detail I appreciated as we ended up avoiding a flower that would mean the opposite of what I wanted to convey. It was easy to call and place an order from the mainland. I would trust Hilo Floral Designs again. Thank you! read more

We are new to Hilo, our granddaughter is going to her first prom and I realized that morning I should send her a wrist corsage to wear to the prom she was going that night. I check online for a florist. I selected Hilo Floral Designs in spite of the very first review I read being negative and with only one star. When I explained to the person who answered mybcircumstance, and issue I was told for the type of order they require 24 hrs notice, but she would check. While she was checking I realized I should also order one for the person she was going with. When the person returned she told me they would do the order then I said I needed two she again had to check. Again they excepted but they closed at 11am on Saturday and we needed to pick them before then. We picked them up at 10:30. The wrist corsages were the most beautiful I had ever seen or expected! We will use them for any future floral needs and highly recommend them. Elaine read more

Called from Oahu and placed an order for Christmas flowers for my favorite aunty in Hilo. I asked for something similar to their Pretty Paradise Bouquet and gave them my budget (which was much smaller than the price of the Pretty Paradise Bouquet). The lady who took my order was very patient and helpful, and even offered to text me a picture of the bouquet when it was ready for delivery (uploaded here). I loved the the finished product! I will definitely order from them again. read more

We were so delighted to have a burst of tropical flowers at our wedding in NYC! The flowers - from the orchid bridal bouquet, to the birds-of-paradise and anthurium bridesmaids bouquets - were beautifully arranged and lasted well through the wedding day. Many of our friends said that they were one of their favorite parts of the day. Thank you Kim for going above and beyond every step of the way! read more

I wanted to order fresh, beautiful flowers for my Mom for Mother's day. Since she is living in HI, I wanted to order them locally from a shop on the Island, not from the mainland. The online order process was very simple and delivery was easily scheduled. That evening I received a call from the shop just confirming the delivery was for Mother's Day. I confirmed it was, and the very kind woman noted that I'd scheduled it for the week AFTER Mother's Day. Thankfully she noticed the message on my gift card was for Mother's Day and immediately reached out to ensure the correct delivery date! AND they were able to still get the gorgeous bouquet to her on time, despite my scheduling error! I'm SO grateful for their excellent service, attention to detail, and care for the customers! Thank you Hilo Floral! read more

Since the closing of a local flower shop, I wasn't sure where to find a prom wristlet. Found a very reasonably priced one at Hilo Floral Designs a few days before the date. Absolutely rude. Wanted to order some roses for my wife on our anniversary and lady was rude. Spent my money elsewhere

We wanted to send flowers to our mother for Mother's Day and Hilo Floral did an amazing job.. We waited till the last minute (Thursday before Mother's Day) to order the flowers so some of the flowers that were in the arrangement we picked were no longer avail. The florist called to let us know but offered to put something together with the flowers they had left if we would like. She was very nice and since we waited till the last min I trusted that she would make it look great. I couldn't have asked for better service or the way the arrangement came out then what we got. I don't live in Hilo, Hawaii but if I did I would tell everyone to go there cause they will take care of you for sure. Thank you Hilo Floral for creating such a beautiful arrangement and your amazing service. Look for our order next year and other special occasions. read more

Called today with a last minute (they were closing in less then 30 mins) request. The person on the phone was patient and worked with me getting a decently priced arrangement for my moms birthday. She did mention it would be a "smaller arrangement" but when my mom received it I was surprised! It was more then I could of ever expected. They even went out of their way to make sure it would be there today. This was my first experience ordering flowers and I couldn't have asked for better customer service. This will be my go to now for friends and family on the other side of the island! Mahalo! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! I ordered flowers on line. never received a call or email about any issues. I entered my card information and paid online. the day came, no flowers. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Jaimee (sp?) at Hilo Floral Designs! She saved the day after I had a disastrous experience with Teleflora online. Please, folks, if the flowers you are sending to a loved one are important to you, never, I repeat, NEVER! order them online from a delivery service! What a wonderful family owned shop! Definitely coming back, everything was beautifully made and everyone was so kind.

Friends just lost their house - and lovely garden - to the lava, so I wanted to send them a bouquet of tropical flowers, as flowers were so important to them, and always displayed in their house. I just asked the florist to use their talents to make something nice for them. They got it to them the same day. It was a wonderful design and my friends were very happy to have the beauty in their new temporary home. I can't figure out how to post a photo of the flowers, but it was an awesome display! read more

i was a little skeptical about on-line ordering because lets face it, its hilo. but being as i live in las vegas my options are slim because most florists in hilo do not accept payments over the phone. the last time i ordered from kui'i and i, what was supposed to be a bouquet of an amazing arangement in a little basket that was around $150 actually turned out to be a orchid and a root that got delivered. so i found hilo floral designs and ordered the cotton candy for my sisters 29th birthday. she was very happy with them and they actually called me the day before to confirm it wasnt a fradulent charge. it was actually really nice. i will be ordering from hilo floral designs from now on and without doubt or worry! read more

Why do I even have to give any stars? This place deserves none! They ruined mother's day for my mom. They advertise with arrangement pictures from teleflora, but the actual arrangement looks nothing like it! They advertised the arrangement as 21" H x 15.5" W. What my mother received was about a foot wide and a foot tall. Instead of a long vase, she got a short stubby one. Instead of a nice arrangement with roses, lilies and what not, she received a bouquet with roses bunched in one area, daisy looking flowers bunched in another area, some peonies here and there, and maybe 2 lilies in the whole arrangement, and they were all smashed together to create a messy looking arrangement that a 5 year old could've made. When I called for a refund, they told me I have to take the arrangement back myself to get my money back! I live off island so I am unable to do this... I trusted this company to do a good job and make my mother happy. Since they couldn't do so, they should pick up the flowers themselves! Do you know how ashamed I was to call my mom to tell her to take the flowers back?! Needless to say, she was very willing to. She said "yes, they are kinda small". I feel terrible that I couldn't make my mom happy on the one day a year where she deserves to feel special. Instead, because of the terrible job done by Hilo Floral Designs, they made my mom feel like her only daughter didn't spend the time or money to get her decent, mother's day worthy flowers. And once I shared this experience with my friends, a few of them also told me they had bad experiences with this company. If Yelp allowed me to, I would post a picture of what my mom got on her "special day". Horrible, rubbish flowers... read more
