The person at the store was very rude, and when I asked a basic question about the area (since I…read morewas from out of state), he gave a very dismissive "I'm not from the area" line, a typical thing people say when they are acting dismissive and rude. What is interesting is I spent almost $900 at the store, so you would think he would at least have acted human and with common courtesy and common sense. Very disappointing. People say midwesterners are nice (I am from California and we are not nice lol). The person at this store, who made a lot of money and should have been overjoyed, was completely rude and not nice. Also, I got my items home to California and realized that three items were past their expiration date! Nothing I can do from 2000 miles away obviously.

Overall as far as the selection and service in the KC Metro is concerned this particular shop seems…read moreto be the least annoying-you know how it feels to be bothered every second while you are trying to browse at your own pace (*take note competition further into Westport) while the used car salesman vibe is radiating from the employee-and has a pretty decent amount of product to choose from. If you come in knowing what you are looking for you are pretty much guaranteed to find something very close to it. It's also a great place to just meander around and kill a few minutes of your time. The number of cases isn't overwhelming and the prices are lower than what you would find in "headier" shops but that also means the artistic value of the glass work isn't as high quality, so like I said before know what you are coming in for and don't expect local blowers to be on display. The true testament is how flexible employees are with you and the level of respect they show you and Joseph exceeded my expectation on both of those fronts, so that was pretty rad. He is a cool dude and is there to offer advice without being pushy, he will hook it up! I have enjoyed Main Street Tobacco and Gifts for many years and it has held my top place ranking for shops of this category in KC since I've started coming here even though it's not the most "reputable" in the community, to me none of that matters when the product is comparable and usually cheaper than what I can find elsewhere.

However, I could tell he was hollering something towards me. He and the cashier took turns, in their loud voices, scolding me about how "us" handicap people breaks his front door and cost him money. Between these two men they took four turns hollering at me about his door and he is "sick" of "us handicap people!". As I was trying to leave. The tall man who came walking very fast towards me in the beginning, loudly came towards the front door saying and I quote," from now on I am to call if I go to their business. He is sick and tired of handicapped people. All "us" people cost him money and he is sick of it.". Beware handicapped people in a wheelchair. This business does NOT appreciate us. These men made me feel unappreciated, small, embarrassed, and feeling sick to my stomach that I am in a wheelchair. Please avoid this business. They Do Not appreciate me or my money.
