I really DO NOT appreciate the service that I received the last time I was there. I actually used to be a regular (in my opinion since I always came to this shop for my vape needs). I loved the place the first time I was there and every other time, but this most recent visit I had killed it for me. I brought a buddy with me one time and we BOTH loved the place. There seemed to be a lot of good items on display and the place looked very clean and organized. We felt welcomed and the person we talked to the whole time was incredibly chill (most of the other workers there were rather hanging out with their friends and only seemed to man the register or work station unless their buddy needed something for their build or unless a customer barely edged by it), the man had glasses on and was of Asian ethnicity. Now I wish I could remember his name but this man stayed at his work station all the time no matter what and always assisted myself and my buddy. He was very helpful and very professional, he's the prime example of the kind of people that should run a shop and work on a daily basis.
Anyways, I was interested in RDA's (particularly the Royal Hunter, I've been wanting it for a few months now). My only problem, was that I had no idea where to start, what kind of build I needed, battery safety, anything like that. For a long time I was literally only on a little G-Pen and rocked a SIMPL mod when I made my first upgrade, so I wanted to finally go up in the world of vaping so I'm still relatively new. Now I was educated by my buddy which helped me write this review. To put this into perspective, keep this in mind: I have an iStick 30W, so I'd need a build that uses 28 or 30 gauge kanthal wire. When I went in there, I asked for the build I wanted (to the best of my knowledge), and that's where it all went south. Instead of trying to talk to me and get to know what kind of vaper I am, what mod I use (which should be the FIRST QUESTION YOU ASK ANYBODY when it comes to RDA's), and whatever else, the "helper" recommends an RDA that I don't really care for and at the time was more expensive (according to the prices he told me) than what I wanted, which was the Sapor RDA by Wotofo ("helper" is what I will be calling this person throughout the interview since I never got his name. I just know he was of Mexican ethnicity)
Out of trust and support for this place, I went with what the "helper" recommends, and paid for it, and did something that once I was notified of how unprofessional this was, really upset me. The "helper" gets another employee to do a build for him (go back up to see what to keep in mind, because here is where it comes to play). The "helper" tells the employee to give me something simple for my RDA, which was referred to as the "24/7" which I was later informed by my buddy that this meant it was a 24 gauge kanthal build, 7 wraps on a 3mm bit, which comes out to 0.35 ohms usually. I didn't know what that meant until I asked my buddy. For an iStick 30W, THAT IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND UNUSABLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. This other employee doesn't ask what mod I was using, either!
Until I have enough money to buy a better mod or decide to buy my own 30 gauge wire and either take it to another (more professional) vape shop or just have my buddy do it for me since he knows what he's doing, I am now stuck with a $40 dollar RDA that I can't even use for the time being. I don't think I'll be going there anymore because of this, despite not being able to hang with the other cool people that's there because of one person, which sucks. My experience with this place has turned me off from it altogether. I'd only go there if a certain juice I wanted was in store, but seeing as I can get all the juices they hold in that store online, that eliminates my reasoning for stopping by and giving my business. I would give this one star instead of two if I didn't like being there my first and only time with my buddy, but I actually did. Employees/helpers of these shops should not be behind the counter if their sole objective is to be out for people's money; it shows that they do not care about the safety of their customers, have zero selling experience (or not even trying to learn how to use it to their advantage properly), and should not be behind the counter.
The only thing that really might have saved my life from using a now unsafe build/mod was due to the fact that it wouldn't properly register on the iStick 30W and wouldn't even fire, giving me the prompt of "atomizer low" every time I'd hit the button to fire it up. read more
