The kitchen staff whip up amazing breakfast, lunches, and dinners. It's our 3rd stay here, and we were smart enough to bring a small inflatable pool to keep cool in the peak heat. I appreciate the shade that the fence line spots provide, but the grass spots are worth having too because it's all so well kept. The landscaping team just excels at keeping these grounds so beautiful. There was a huge inflatable water slide setup this year, which looked like a blast. I know RVs of any size are welcome, and they have electrical hookups. Cheers to anyone able to stay here.

Everyone who works here is very friendly and looks out for all the campers. This year was insane with the lightening and they took care of all of us shuttling back and forth and keeping everyone safe. I've been staying here for four years STRAIGHT. I stayed ONE time at the gorge - NEVER AGAIN. This is the spot! Hidden in a cove of trees your sheltered from the elements and have all the amenities you need just feet away. They have shady spots, cabins, and tents available for rent. As well as, they upgraded their shelters, showers, and added plenty of picnic tables to share. My personal note: Shelly was amazing! I've seen her around the last few years and she took very good care of me this year. She was my go to for any information needed and was very informed on what was happening. I even forgot my toothebrush and she brought one from home for me. THEY CARE!!! She even hand painted the rocks around the campsites.

That said, this is the sort of place that we want to go camping all the time now! We're definitely not go out in the woods and sleep on a camping pad under the stars type people. We're more camp where we can see the car and have a bathroom around type people. This definitely trends towards the latter. This little campground is about 17 miles past Bron Yr Aur in Naches and is an absolute gem of a spot. Upon checking in, you find they have a small store with plenty of food and beverage options. They have spots for tent camping, cabins with beds, and plenty of RV parking. We went up here for a friends birthday weekend and opted for one of the small cabins. It was named "mamas place "and was lovely. The cabins are newly renovated and have small kitchenette's, a nice TV, And most importantly were warm! The two that we saw in so I did not have bathrooms, but there is a shared central bathroom and shower house that's close to everything, and is also heated! On the grounds, they have a small beach area where the kids could go throw rocks in the River and during the summertime everyone is able to get into the water to cool off. They have tons of play equipment for kids to run around and play on, some awesome area for people to ride 4 x 4's if they brought them, and they even have a meadow type area where they hold weddings. It's incredibly picturesque with the river in the background and the cliffs behind it. Go out there at night and check out what they called the fire flies - a bunch of lights set up in the meadow the dance on the trees. It's pretty awesome! You are just close enough to be able to run into town for something you forgot, but also far enough away that your cell phone isn't going off all the time because the reception is bad. This is actually about as close to perfect spot as we've been, and we're really excited to go back!

They are located in a remote area, so there is no cell service, and wifi is only available right by the office, but they do have a great selection of loaner DVDs, which kept my hubby . They have a gathering space with movies and popcorn, an onsite store. They even had a great DJ on Saturday night.

We stopped in for some family pictures and ended up hiking about a quarter of a mile down the main path. The bridge was uniformly enjoyed by everyone! There's some great small trails that run right next to the river and lots of things to look at and explore. To anyone looking for a nice break, check out this area in the fall when the leaves are changing, it gives you a whole new appreciation for beauty. It's one of those things that I definitely did not appreciate when I was younger, but now it's just spectacular the colors that you see! It's five dollars per day to park here, so definitely make sure you have some cash on hand, and make sure it's exact change as there's not anything giving you change there. Well worth checking out!

Beautiful views of the canyon. Suspension bridge = amazing. Umtanum campground was another story. It has beautiful desert scenery and easy river access. However, only two of seven sites have a tiny bit of shade. If you are tent camping, then bring a pop up for shade. Also be prepared to listen to RV generators all day and night. We also had an unforgettable set of neighbors. On our first night, they had a major domestic dispute between the hours of 2AM and 4AM. They apologized profusely the next day, and we ended up being friendly with them, but I think this qualifies as a party campground. At least it was entertaining!
