What a super nice school!…read more I participated in an hour-long "outreach" event this month; October 2021 at Enochs Highschool in Turlock, California. I have to this date, never encountered so many genuinely friendly and helpful young people. NAMI Stanislaus, The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the non-profit, grassroots organization I was volunteering for to get the word out about NAMI On-Campus, a NAMI supported program, student organizational group here at Enochs Highschool. This student-ran with adult supervision group provides outreach for the young students in supporting mental health, speaking about it, and stamping out the stigma which can accompany it for the young. The students got along and many were dressed up in 70's Disco Era clothing which looked great and authentic as at their lunch break, they mingled, visited our table full of informational stuff and complimentary items. All the teachers and school personnel I encountered were professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The campus and the landscaping were very well maintained and welcoming. This is a very well maintained & super clean school.

In the past two years they have had numerous principal and vice principals, all which do very little to solve any issues and concerns parent may have when it come to kids. I've had issues with yard duty trying to play a role of principal, picking on my 8 yr. old for his mohawk to the point that my son did not want to go to school. Left messages for the principal or vice principal to contact me with no avail. The gates to kinder garden section of the school are supposed to open by 1:25 and like always the yard duty is extremely late and rude. Last year one of the yard duty ladies called my 10 yr. old stupid and like always the school did nothing to repremend her actions.I have witness a teacher jerking a 5 yrs ol child and then trying to play it off when she noticed I witness this. Some teachers are great but they have some teachers that should have never gotten in the teaching industry to begin with. The only person that I am very content with is Yolanda, one of the secretaries. She tries her to best to be helpful and is always polite, unlike most of the staff in that school. She recently called home to get my child in trouble saying that he was not dressed out for PE. When in reality, his butt crack was just showing slightly. And he is pretty chunky but that shouldn't be a reason to call home. Yesterday, they called AGAIN. This reason was because my child finished state testing early. Can you believe they got him in trouble because he finished early. My daughter works as a substitute paraprofessional, she came home to me after working at the school for the first time telling me how the school gets kids in trouble for silly reasons. If they keep calling home, I will call MCS and put a huge complaint. I am sick and tired of my kid getting in trouble there. Also, the so called PE teacher has parents phone numbers on hand to call whenever she wants because she thinks she has the upper hand. DO NOT and I can not stress this enough DO NOT tell me to deal with my child with his behind. I will never forget my experience at Beyer. This was the high school I attended before Enoch's…read moreopened up. I will never forget how the school counselors doubted my future and told me that there was no way for me to move up to CP classes. All they told me was that I was stuck in regular classes and they wouldn't move me up nor did they even try to help me move up. I was just sent away with no direction given. At Enoch's, I worked hard and earned good grades and the counselors gave me the encouragement I needed to believe in myself. At Enoch's, they helped me and led me in the right path and moved me up to CP classes. At Beyer, all I felt was doubt in my future. Enoch's gave me hope and opportunity. Now, I am proud to say that I am a nurse.
