It's unbelievable how unprofessional they are. I had a very important phone call for the principal/vice principal & they gave the hardest time to get in contact with either. They were purposely picking up my calls & hanging up on me. I had to call on a different phone to get through & then LIZ told me she can't forward me to the principal. I asked for her voicemail & she said her voicemail was not available--that it was a human being. I gave up trying to communicate with them at all. This school has been successfully sued many times & now I understand why. They do not put our children first & get upset when lunch is dropped off for them. I can go on & on about why this school is terrible. The teachers my children have had so far give no effort. Aside from Mrs. Finnegan she is a gem at the school!

I remember last year when i was driving pass this place, I noticed that it wasn't even Lathrop Annex anymore. Most of the portables were gone and all that was left was the "Office". I just couldn't believe it. Was it because 2 other schools opened up in Lathrop too that they needed to just downsize by just putting K-8 in Lathrop Elementary? Anyways, I remember getting in trouble here a lot and getting sent home for all the wrong reasons. One for sticking out my tongue at the teacher LOL. The other time was when I was digging in the sandbox and for some reason there was some boy behind me too that as I was digging, all the sand was going in his yes LMAO. He should have known better not to go behind me while I'm digging in the sand. I used to be Student of the Month all the time. I miss going to the book fair which was my favorite. We used to always get those book catalogs and would always have to buy something since back then I loved reading. Another thing I loved was the annual carnival that they used to have here usually during the month of May. They had cotton candy, lots of bouncy jumpers, a rock climbing wall, and other good stuff. That was one of the things I used to look forward to when I attended the annex and the elementary. I met most of my best friends here. We all attended the same elementary and the same high school. They were the reasons why I loved going to school. Overall, this place had so much memories.

I'm speaking for myself and other parents I've talked to about this school. My daughter came home crying and extremely upset because her teacher decided to tell the class the tooth fairy wasn't real they needed to stop believing in magic! Idk what is wrong with her but glad she is no longer influencing my child. My daughter was a different person before going there, her self esteem has gone down a lot. And worst the staff doesn't even care to find out what's wrong to make it right. Unacceptable.

My experience with Bella Vista Christian Academy was beyond disappointing, and I ultimately removed…read moremy children because of it. The overall environment felt negative and, at times, openly unkind. I witnessed staff speaking to students in ways that were belittling and inappropriate. In one instance, a teacher used name-calling toward students--something that should never happen in any school, especially one that claims to reflect Christian values. Administration was equally frustrating. Concerns from both parents and students were consistently dismissed rather than addressed. Instead of feeling heard, I felt brushed off and judged. During a very difficult time in my personal life, I expected neutrality and professionalism, but instead experienced what felt like bias and a lack of basic understanding. Leadership was particularly concerning. While interactions could appear polite on the surface, the follow-through told a very different story. Decisions felt inconsistent and unfair, making it hard to trust the administration at all. The front office experience made things even worse. Shannon, who is often the first point of contact, was repeatedly rude and unprofessional in my interactions. The tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, which sets a terrible example for both families and students. First impressions matter, and in this case, they reflected a much deeper problem within the school culture. To be fair, not every staff member reflects this environment--Mrs. Quilcy stands out as kind, patient, and genuinely supportive of students. She deserves recognition for the way she treats families. Unfortunately, one positive example does not outweigh the broader issues. For a school that promotes faith and character, the lack of compassion, professionalism, and willingness to listen was deeply disappointing. I cannot recommend this school to families looking for a supportive and respectful environment

We had nothing but good experiences here and highly recommend it. The teachers are very patient with the children, older children help younger children settle into routines, and the school even helps with potty training when the time comes. Let me save you the headache! This place is a freakinnn' mess…read more After essentially being pushed out just two days in, I was told I'd get a full refund, minus the two days my son was "in school", yeah.. ok. What I got instead was several weeks of back and fourth emails, and a check that was finally recieved via snail mail aka USPS. I thought: "FINALLY", cause... hey, we're talking a little over $1,800. I go to deposit it and lo and behold.. IT'S NOT SIGNED. Yes, seriously, they sent me an unsigned check. From there, I went back to the email thread, going back and forth a million times with accounting and random people who never introduced themselves. An aggressive email from a random staff member named Patricia, who never introduced herself or her role in the whole situation. I didn't receive any phone calls, no apology, no accountability. Weeks go by, and I don't receive another check, so I filed a dispute with my bank after attempting to resolve this for over a month. Guess what? I finally heard back from accounting. They tried to get me to cancel my dispute so that they could issue a check again. I said nope! Thankfully, a week or so later, my bank was able to refund me the entire amount after literally faxing them our email thread and the unsigned check. Please do not bring yourself or your children here. The staff here is unprofessional and incompetent and needs to brush up on their customer service. Avoid. At. All. Costs.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sylvan Manteca/Ripon!! I was concerned my 9 year old had…read morea learning disability. We had held her back a grade and even began homeschooling in fear she was falling through the cracks and in 3rd grade didn't even have a firm grip on basic addition. We visited and interviewed a number of tutoring services and the others felt impersonal or like their purpose was to get the student as far beyond their grade level as possible. That wouldn't help my daughter, she was struggling with the fundamentals! Meeting with the director, Sachin, immediately put my mind at ease. He assured me of Sylvan's confidence in their program and that they were accustomed to dealing with children with focus and comprehension issues like my daughter. In addition, the facility looks more like a children's section in a library- colorful, comfortable and inviting- as opposed to the college classroom I had seen in other facilities, cold and bland with rows and rows of desks so they could fit as many kids in as possible. My daughter started out overwhelmed and fearful; she hates school because it was so confusing and overwhelming. Now she leaps out of the car and confidently walks in, as do nearly all of the other students. She really enjoys her primary instructor, Ava, and most of the staff know each of the students names and greet them when they enter. They break off into groups of no more than 3 students per instructor and work on their own, personalized, lesson plan- NOT a one-size fits all. Sylvan is incredibly flexible and understands that we have jobs, lives and additional children to navigate and Miriam ensures all scheduling, billing, meetings (and so much more I'm sure) are current and up to date. She is an excellent communicator. My daughter went from absolutely hating math to randomly sharing math facts with her little sister, which absolutely warms my heart.
