My stylist, Amanda, was great. She's the only person in the region that was able to look at the photo I brought in and give me the exact cut I was looking for. Everyone else wanted to put their own touch on it and it always ended up looking "small town mom" and a total disappointment. It was funny how she would go from chatty stylist to semi salesperson when she'd mention a product but that was minor and very low pressure (I hate sales pitches). She explained each step of the process and suggested some alterations to the cut that made sense with my hair/face combo. I got one side shaved and appreciated her just hopping in and doing it without the weird little build up/"areyousure?theresnoturningback" freak out some stylists do when you want to make more than a slight change. She waxed and shaped my brows too and they look much more polished. I have the slightest bruise on one lid but that happens about every third time i get them done so I can't blame that on her, in fact my brows usually are flame red for the rest of the day after a wax and they returned to their normal color by the time I left and I could actually go somewhere else in town I stead of hiding at home! I've washed and styled at home since the cut and it still looks great. It's a properly done cut that can be restyled at home with ease. There were no mistakes hidden in the styling at the salon (which seems to be a frequent thing). I'm knocking off a star because the receptionist was on the phone and didn't acknowledge me, nor did another stylist who came up to the front desk. Even a smile and nod would be fine. I needed to get my hair dyed again after a long hiatus for about three or four months. I was recommended to try here instead of another salon. I managed to get squeezed in at the last moment, pleasant lady and she did a great job on my eyebrows. My main downfall is the egregious price of all of that. I paid WAY too much for two things. I was so lucky to get an appointment! I got my hair and makeup done by Alex and she was amazing! She was so kind and funny and extremely talented. I have super sensitive skin and had never really been to a fancy event before so I had no idea what to expect. She made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted along the way and made the whole experience an 11/10. I was in the chair for 3 hrs. I spent $490 for highlights and lowlights. I didn't get anything close to the picture I was assured could be replicated. I wish Yelp allowed me to upload pictures. You would be shocked. I am so ashamed of spending so much money for what actually amounts to 2 gray/blonde streaks... and the roots are obvious in the 2 streaks anyway. I got my eyebrows waxed a couple months ago and I loved it. Naturally, I went back there today with the same person and it was the worse eyebrow wax I've ever had in my life. One is way thinner then the other and I just wanted them cleaned up. Now it will take me months to grow them back. Never going back again. STAY AWAY. read more

I have been going to this salon since I moved to South Dakota 4 years ago ! I started with one stylist I won't mention names and she did a fairly good job so I stuck with her because it is nit easy finding a good stylist ! Then when she went out on maternity leave I went to another one of there stylists ! She seemed to be a bit more knowledgeable so I continued with her ! I had her put some burgundy in my hair last fall ! Then I went back a few months later and wanted to eventually get back to blonde ! She bleached it so badly that day I lost 4 inches of hair that took me forever to grow ! And they charged me 165 dollars that day. There owner apologized and gave me 2 free conditioning treatments BIG DEAL ! Then the stylist that ruined my hair did color it for free once after I talked to her ! She is a nice girl but does not communicate well . So today I go back in trusting her to do what she did last time And what happens she bleaches it again today ! I'm thinking she's toning it down and she's bleaching the crap out of it ! So I left in tears and the owner is having me come back tomorrow to have another stylist try to fix it ! All I know is it better not cost me another 165 dollars ! I shouldn't have to pay anything for another mistake and here I go again with dry brassy hair !!! I called and spoke with the receptionist about my hair type (short, edgy, thick, color treated) and asked who would be best for my style. An appointment was made for a consultation with the manager? named Tiffany. I arrived about 10 minutes early. The receptionist told me she was with a client but didn't point out who she was in the salon. After 15 minutes of standing around I realized there was only one woman still with a client and also realized she'd walked passed me a couple times without saying hello, introducing herself, or telling me herself that she'd be right with me. After 20 minutes of waiting, I asked if Tiffany knew I was here and how much longer she'd be. I was told not much longer. After 30 minutes of waiting and seeing that she wasn't trying to finish up with her client or make eye contact with me, I asked if someone else was there to give a consultation. They had another lady come out but she wasn't a good match for me. They don't respect new clients or at least didn't want my business. I'll never go back. read more

Normally I find someone who's personally recommended, but since I don't know people here, I went with a safe bet-an Aveda Salon. I expected to show a picture, and get exactly that, which isn't always my preference. I like the stylist to be able to know what will suit me, and make changes or recommendations based off of a picture. Lucky me, Breanna was great! I showed her two pictures of short styles I liked, and she was able to suggest parts from both that would suit me well, and then turn it into a great cut that I love! She was very willing to listen to what I was looking for, and when *I* asked for specific products to style it, she helped me find what was necessary, but didn't try to oversell or pressure me. I go to a stylist for personalized service and creativity from the stylist, and she had both! She also gave my toddler a trim the next week and was SO patient and calm, considering it was my toddlers first cut ever and she got pretty nervous. Breanna was amazing and calm, and never tried to get me to quiet her down (she wasn't loud, but did cry) or make me feel like we were disrupting the salon. In fact, everyone there was amazing and friendly, including the other customers. Thank you for a great experience, we will be back! read more
