I was extremely nervous about having a…read morehysterectomy, but from the beginning, he took the time to explain the procedure step by step and made me feel safe and cared for. What stood out to me the most was not only his knowledge and experience, but also his humanity and compassion. At the time, back in 2024, I was also going through breast cancer, which made everything even more overwhelming. Dr. Mirhashemi gave me hope and reminded me that I had the strength to overcome whatever I needed to face. I had very large fibroids around and inside my uterus, and unfortunately, in my case, the entire uterus needed to be removed. I also made the personal decision to have my ovaries removed to help avoid potential future concerns related to cancer. I was 44 at the time, and for me, it was the decision that made the most sense. I will never forget the day of my surgery. Dr. Mirhashemi gave me a big hug before the procedure and gave me exactly the strength and reassurance I needed in that moment. That meant more to me than he probably realizes. He also discovered I had stage III endometriosis in my appendix the day of the surgery and he removed which I APPRECIATE!!! I wanted to write this review because he is truly an excellent and very knowledgeable doctor who made me feel safe during one of the most difficult times of my life. If you are considering Dr. Mirhashemi, don't think twice. He is one of the best doctors I have encountered throughout my entire medical journey. Unfortunately, this has been one of the most frustrating medical-office experiences I've ever had…read more For my first appointment, I drove nearly an hour to the office only to be told when I arrived that the appointment was actually virtual. I had not been informed of that beforehand. Since then, appointments have been canceled multiple times, and communication and follow-through have continued to be extremely inconsistent. At one point I spoke with someone who was very kind and reassuring, and I was told there would be follow-up after my blood work. That follow-up never happened. What makes this especially disconcerting is that this is an oncology/hematology office, where patients may already be anxious and dealing with serious health concerns. Patients should not have to repeatedly chase down appointments, information, and follow-up care. I really hope Starling Oncology improves its scheduling, communication, and continuity of care, because my experience has left me feeling that patients are simply not being given the attention or consideration they deserve.
