I made an appointment for three people and when we came in there were only two people working and one of them were already occupied so we didn't even get service at our specified time. These are my natural nails. I asked for dip powder with a white French tip. The lady who did my nails asked me if i wanted to cut them and I told her I just wanted to trim a little length off but she went on and cut more than HALF the length off my nails and made them all different lengths. While she removed my previous set, she was using the electric file and completely shaved down my nails and made them SO thin, they felt flimsy like they were gonna break off right then and there. Then she shapes my nails and i ask for almond but she made them an oval shape. I asked her to make the sides more narrow because they looked so round and circular but she didn't understand what I wanted and I got frustrated and settled for it because I asked more than one time and explained myself but she didn't understand me. Then she goes onto doing the French tip and she made the lines so thick that I couldn't believe it. I turned to my friend to ask for her opinion and we both knew it wasn't right. The other guy who was working took over for my lady and continued to do my French tip because he knew she wasn't doing it right either. Mind you, they started my set at 11:20 and didn't finish until nearly 2 which is way too long considering that these are my natural nails and they didn't have to apply extensions. They could tell I wasn't happy with the service and I still had to pay for the entire set and they didn't offer anything to make up for what happened or to fix it on a later day. On top of all of this, just two days after getting this set done the gel on my French tip chips off but I didn't want to go back so I filled it in with my own white polish so it would blend in but over less than two weeks the gel AND dip just continue to chip off and my nails start LIFTING which never happens, they feel so loose like they can break off at any minute. I'm never one to complain, I know that over time your nails grow out or they can break off if you don't take care of them but this is all about the application they did because if they had done their job correctly then this would have never happened. I also hate to complain because I know that being a nail tech is a hard and demanding job but everything about this experience was bad and it really made me upset. It also isn't what I asked for at all and it just upsets me that I had to pay for something that wasn't up to basic standard at all. I love this nail salon. I was driving from Ontario to Walnut every 3 weeks for my nails and eyelash extensions for 1yr+ kind of love. I worked nights and could never call a salon during business hours so having the ability to book via Booksy is SOO convenient for me. The owner is the best, the services are fairly priced and they use great products. I don't usually have a preference for nail techs since they all do good work. I've seen customers complain and Hannah stop what she is doing, fix the issue and teach other employees at the same time without being dismissive which is impressive. I've seen employees straight up tell someone they don't know how to do a certain design and ask Hannah for guidance which shows great leadership/ownership. Unfortunately my eyelash tech quit and I love them, but the appointment time keeping is never on time. Initially called to make an appointment for 7:30, but the lady who I assume is Vana, the owner told me to come in earlier which I understand because they close at 8 so I said the earliest I can is 7:15. When I got there it was a full house and I didn't get started till around 8..... Anyways their work is mediocre. The guy, which I didn't get his name, but he is the only guy there did my pedicure, like I said, was mediocre. I got white with shimmer over and the white wasn't opaque enough. Not enough coats and not applied evenly. Although their service is great, shop is clean and their designs are up to date compared to other shops, I wouldn't go back to the guy. This is my second time coming to Vana Nail Spa. The first time, Jean (?) did my nails. I got gel with glitter. Unfortunately two of my nails broke and I came in a few days later and Jean was able to fix them both free of charge. I had them for over 5 weeks and they still looked amazing! No cracks, no lifting, etc. Second time I came in was with Tiffany. She was extremely detail oriented and truly took her time with my nails. She removed my old gel polish that I had for 5 weeks and was very focused on ensuring the shape and length were as desired. I had one broken nail and she did one acrylic for me with no charge. Tiffany really took her time with each step of the process and nailed exactly what I wanted. She was very sweet and really paid attention to what she was doing. Got pedicure here with Harry(Hary?) and it was horrible. First of all, when he removed my callus, I could tell that he was just rubbing around. He did not tell me that it was extra $6 charge until I paid. I would not mind if the service is great but it was not. Also the way he applied pedicure color was uneven and he did not even try to fix it. There is this hard skin next to my pinky toenail and whenever I go to pedicure, the pedicurist always cut or trim it for me but all I saw from him was rubbing it with the nail file and it does NOT feel comfortable. My feet looks extra dry, nail color is uneven and also my hard skin is not removed with $26. The only plus here is that it is clean and they gave you one bottle of water. After my experience today, I don't think I will be coming back here. First, the nails were way shorter than what I wanted and it was already too late to add more length. My nail tech seemed like she was new and was also in a rush as she had another customer's nails to do. When she was removing my old acrylics, she also kept hurting me. And I've never had a nail tech put on so much glue on my nail before. I've never had a bad experience at vana until today. It was also $75 just for this.
