What a stunning ranch! I came here for a Spartan Race and left with exploring 11 miles through hills and nestled forest areas.

Remember this phrase: Blackberry-Apple sour cream pie. Daaaamnit!!! It is ADDICTIVE! Some of the best pie that I've ever tasted and a gem within Apple Hill. This was my last stop along my recent trip out to Apple Hill. Although it wasn't as eventful as the other two orchards that I visited, the pie was hands down the best! I dropped by about an hour before closing and this place was pretty dead. I'm sure COVID had a lot to do with that, but it was actually nice to not be around a ton of people. Bodhaine serves up some really unique pies. Since I had been feasting all day, I decided to take a few slices home. Got a slice of their blackerry-apple sour cream and a slice of their raspberry apple cream cheese pie. Of course, I had to wash it all down with some delicious cold apple cider. Both pies were tasty, but that blackberry-apple sour cream pie just stole my heart away. It didn't sound all that appealing from the title, but let me tell you... that sh*t was incredible! The tartness of the blackberry mixed with the sweetness of the apples and the creaminess of the sour cream was just straight up heavenly. I actually went back in to grab another slice because I didn't even make it to the car. The lady was laughing at me, but it was funny. The fact that the pie didn't even last a few minutes let's you know that it was good. It was at that point that I should have just purchased a frozen whole pie, but my tummy was honestly full and I wasn't thinking. I did end up getting another slice though, and that one actually did make it home. And damn was it delicious! Next time, I am definitely getting a frozen blackberry-apple sour cream pie or two because it was heavenly. If you're looking for some amazing pies on Apple Hill, Bodhaine won't disappoint.

I FINALLY Stopped By After 10 Years!…read more SITREP So. I've been calling to Apple Hill region about 10 years now. You know it is? You're invited by friends to go along, they introduce you to their favorite spots, and then year after year you end up going to the same spots with them. This year was a BIT different! THE SETUP So after hitting spots like Boa Vista, Crystal Basin Cellars, Abel's, Highline Trees, Boeger Wines, etc. etc., I caught my breath, and rechecked my Yelp searches. I was just getting ready to leave O'Halloran's Apple Ranch - the site of most excellent Apples, Pears and U-Pick Pumpkins - and as I turned on to Carson Road, was gonna beeline to the freeway, but noticed right next door to O'Halloran's was Bodhaine's. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bodhaine-ranch-camino?select=e07LLFQny_6LxFlSL0RgLQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w BODHAINE RANCH I actually wasn't in a rush to get home. I was in the car by myself and didn't have antsy people with me demanding to move on. I decided to take a relaxing moment for myself and see what Bodhaine's was about. In fact, I DID remember a co-worker mention a couple years ago something something something about "Bodhaine's" and "Pies" and "Tamales". https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bodhaine-ranch-camino?select=O-vzTzoGIq5GGKoJxBb5KQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE PIES! So let me skip ahead and tell you that Bodhaines has an AMAZING baking business going on here! "French Apple Pies" (YUM) to "Chicken Pot Pies" (Also YUM), you can come up here and just eat lunch - get a slice of each. Or walk away with a whole pie of each! THE JAMS! They also have a busy little section of JAMS. My takeaways here were a Chocolate Blueberry jam and a Blackberry-Blueberry jam. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bodhaine-ranch-camino?select=yb4UCjSpxypOoypxHZiXxg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN A nice stop to include on your trek through Apple Hill.
