Dezi educated me a lot about my curl type - she walked through my routine with me and made appropriate suggestions about how to do better and keep my curls looking amazing. Was asked if I wanted referral to someone else and they would contact me. I said yes... haven't heard a peep in a reasonable amount of days...so after spending a ton of time filling out a lengthy profile as well as submitting pics and agreeing to reschedule, late appointment charges and other very exacting specifications I guess they still don't need or want new business. As a small biz owner myself, this is beyond my comprehension in rude. Thanks for showing me who you are before I regretted the appointment! My experience would be a negative 1 if I could give that!

I stressed in particular that I need the weight kept on the top/outer layer of my hair or it would flip up on the ends. I paid $400 to get something I specifically said I didn't want…read more I've been going to JUUT salons over the past couple of years for all kinds of services. I've only had great experiences, but they were at another location. When I moved to a different part of the cities this was the closest salon. I trusted them, and made sure to pick a stylist that had years of experiene doing a type of coloring that I hoped to get. I brought almost a dozen photo references, including photos of what I didn't want that I've had in the past. I was very clear on what I wanted and didn't, but the stylist seemed annoyed. She didn't even look at the photos. Several times through the service I voiced my concerns that I wasn't liking how it was turning out, but she kept reassuring me that it would look great. She was super rough brushing and blowdrying that it hurt, and the result looked exactly like my "do not" photos. I wanted ombre, but got chunky, streaky highlights that stopped an inch from my roots. They weren't blended or even symmetrical. They were copper yellow, not brunette. I told her I didn't like it and that it didn't look like the photos, and she argued with me that it did, that I shouldn't have tried this when my hair was colored previously (6 months prior), and in fact she loved it. I asked if it could be fixed, and she said I could only do another gloss but that wouldn't turn out well. I was so disappointed and discouraged. I'm not usually one to speak up, but I was so upset about the color and it was so expensive I had to. I cried in the car! When I called back, I felt like I wasn't being listened to, was argued with, and made to feel stupid like I didn't know what I was looking at. I went through several people up the chain before someone agreed to fix it. She was able to squeeze me in the next day, and was so caring and gentle I almost forgot the day before. But she only had time to blend it out and tone it down so it didn't look like I did it myself. So while they did fix it, I am hesitant to go back. I know everyone has bad days and mistakes happen, but how can a senior stylist who says they specialize in something do so poorly and then argue with me when I said I didn't like it? It was like I was being gaslit to not trust what my eyes saw.

I waited a few weeks and decided to give a different salon a try to fix my mess. I found The Beauty Room on Yelp and took a chance with any stylist available. Thank the universe and every star above that I was paired with Holly. And honestly- thank goodness she didn't turn me away when she saw the yellow correction coming her way. Her energy was phenomenal and her humor and conversation are second to none. You know when you want to have that old friend feeling with a stylist when sitting in a chair all day? He sat in a seat with a TV playing cartoons, so he had a nice distraction. Cyndi cut his hair and she was great. She was very nice to us as well as our son, she made him feel calm and comfortable. She took our thoughts on his hair and added her own ideas from experience and we ended up with a great haircut for our little dude. We also got a little "first haircut" certificate.
